Food: 5; Staff: 4.5; Ambiance: 4; Location: 3 Will give this an overall rating of 4 of 5 - however, my "points off" from a 5 have nothing to do with the food. I've read a few reviews on here that complain about the food. The fact is that EVERY buffet diner will have some food that sat out a little too long from time to time. You will never avoid that. The good news here is that this staff is very attentive to the food lines and in the 30 plus times we've dined there, it is RARE that the food is cold, or "unappealing" (according to one reviewer). We have always found the food to be warm-hot, tasty and of good quality. There is a nice variety and for me, I specifically love the coconut shrimp and Onion Shrimp. Everyone won't like every food they present - I, for one, don't like the Japanese style chicken they serve - but that is an individual taste and doesn't mean the food is "bad". Dessert line is limited but sufficient - and unlike other buffet's we've frequented, the ice cream machine has never run out. Another nice benefit of this buffet is their takeout. You can come in and, for a fixed price, fill a takeout container with as much as you can grab. They will have a bag, utensils and fortune cookie waiting for you when you are finished. The staff is usually very attentive and efficient. Yes, one or two people that work there aren't "talkative", and some language difficulties can appear to be "anger", or "rudeness", but the fact is they do their job. They will ask children their ages - because they have an age cutoff for their pricing - and unfortunately many adults will lie to get the cheaper price. The children are most always honest. It's not "badgering" like one person reviewed - it's their right. Now - why I reviewed as a 4 and not a 5? The location is in an awkward place. It is one block over from the "red brick" main street and near the southwestern outskirts of the town. This is mainly an industrial area, and the roads around the restaurant are less than ideal. The building is older, and their popularity has out-grown their space so many times it gets crowded there, and parking becomes limited (although there is a parking lot area across the street from them). This is actually great for the food turnover, keeping it fresh and hot. It would benefit them to look into moving to a larger facility within the main area of the town (maybe buy out the Hidalgo's building?). The ambiance is nice, and there are TV screens usually showing some sports event. Overall, you are missing out on a hidden Chinese buffet gem if you don't visit this place. We've lived in many different states, and King Buffet resides in the top 3 or 4 of our buffet lists. read more

There is an abundance of choices, but not all are appealing or tasty. The egg rolls were cold and greasy. The shrimp and onions were cold and hard. Dessert left something to be desired. The restaurant is a small pre-fab building three blocks down a dark and deserted street off of the main road. Parking was not plentiful, but I found a space on the side after one loop around. I wouldn't chance walking very far from that place. The wait staff was extremely rude. Their posted hours were until 9 pm. At 8 pm, the kitchen staff began vacuuming and sweeping while customers were trying to enjoy their dinners. They began rushing customers. I was presented my bill while eating my first plate. When I was the last one in the restaurant, they yelled at me in broken English that they close at 8:30 pm. They were visibly perturbed that I wanted to use the bathroom, waiting near the door for me to finish. I paid my bill and, against my better judgment, left a tip. No "thank you" from the woman at the register. No "come again." So, I can guarantee that I won't ever drive a half hour to go to this place ever again. In comparison to quality Chinese buffets that I have experienced in other cities, this restaurant was definitely below par. read more

Food: 2/5 The line was hot enough but nothing on it was very good. It's as if they made food that neither looked nor tasted very good and then said, eh that will do. The cold foods were grouped together really weirdly. I don't feel that seafood should be that close to dessert. If it was the only restaurant in town, I would probably drive to another town to eat. Service: 1/5 The waitress was not attentive at all's Ambiance: 3/5 The bathroom was so dark I could barely see to lock the restroom door. They only have two dim fan lights, but it did smell ok in there. I literally couldn't tell you if it was clean or not, which might be the point. read more

The food was all amazing, ignore the people saying it was cold. The hot stuff was fresh and steaming and the things meant to be cold were cold. The atmosphere is amazing and definitely adds to the experience. The only downside is that sometimes the people try to take some of the food if you leave it sitting or are eating off another plate, they also took my friends sweet and sour sauce. But as long as you just say that you are still eating it or say something, they apologize profusely and leave it with you. Overall, 9/10 read more

Went with friends for lunch today. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. They were good about keeping drinks filled and the plates cleared from the table. I was disappointed that they didn't have sesame chicken on the buffet as thats my favorite so I went with sweet and sour chicken which was cold and didn't have much flavor. The fried rice was pretty good though. I doubt I will return. read more

We stopped here 2 years ago on a road trip & we're glad they were still open this trip. Amazing amount of food with great variety of Chinese & American food. You can't go wrong eating here, the employees are attentive & keep the areas clean & wipe off the tables immediately after the customers leave their table. All of the food was cold. Gross. I hardly ate anything and I told them the food was cold and to look at my plate I barely ate anything. Was there all of 10 mins. Drove in from Derby to check out the buffet, Wichita buffets have dropped off the rating scales. Got there at 7:00.... they were closed. I guess if you are not busy, lock the doors & go home. I do like a good buffet so I may give it a second chance. Ended up at Sugar Shane's Cafe just around the corner. BE AWARE OF DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICE! Their lunch hour is 11:00am-3:30pm max dining time is 2 hour. We arrived at 3:00pm and when we left we were charged for dinner price due to they change few items at 3:30pm and without any awareness of signs or be told by servers that the items were for dinner customers only. We should have our lunch for max 2 hours without they remove any lunch items. We accidentally have items serve on the buffet bar which they claim are dinner items. The manager or owner and cashier were rude. They did it on purpose to let you touch the food and charge you the higher price. This is very bad business practice. read more

Augusta has needed a good Chinese buffet and this is the third attempt. Is it good? Yes. Is it amazing? No. But, don't let that keep you away. The food is decent and hot on four separate bars. It's the typical blend of Americanized Chinese fare that I'm convinced is purchased from a food service. Not spicy to appease the lovers of bland. The sushi was disappointing as there was only two types on the buffet. If you're not a sushi fan, no loss. The restaurant is fresh and clean and worth a go. Enjoy! read more

This is the best Chinese food I have ever ate. The Chicken Teriyaki is the main dish on the buffet line and its delicious. Everything they put out is fresh and good. Also they are pretty friendly. Most Chinese restaurants in my opinion are rude and short with you. If you're ever in town this is a must eat! read more

This place is very simple and clean when it comes to cuisine. They offer an array of different foods and they seem to keep everything sanitized. The only thing I would complain about is that I went with a friend and was rushed out because it was closing in an hour. I get it, they probably just wanted to go home, but we were paying customers and we spent a total of 15 minutes actually sitting down and eating because they were in such a hurry to kick us out. read more
