Great food. Mom and Pop business, not very big place. Bring cash. They don't take cards.

The food was hot and fresh but greasy and bland. We will not return. It is also cash only and dirty.

Food is delicious, the prices are great for the portion size, and people are friendly. Better than Great Wall by a long shot.

So good I stuffed myself! My wife and I were out and about in Kansas and stopped here for lunch. We…read moreboth ordered General Tso's chicken with fried rice and egg roll, crab rangoon, and fried wontons. All these items are your standard fare at a Chinese restaurant. While it may be standard fare, the food had flavor and a wonderful taste! The chicken was not greasy, but evenly coated with the sauce and the smaller pieces mean they were slightly crunchy and perfect to mix with your rice. It also had a wonderful taste...sweet, sticky, with just the slightest hint of heat. The rice was spot on, cooked well, and the egg roll was fried and perfectly sized for a meal. Our side orders were delicious. I'm picky when it comes to crab rangoon and these were perfect! Not bland cream cheese fried in a shell (yuck) but they had a soft sweet creamy interior, perfectly fried to a crispy exterior. The fried wontons were also done perfectly and had flavor! That's the theme for this restaurant: flavor. So much Chinese food has no flavor or little of it. In addition, the interior is clean, bathrooms tidy and clean, and you can tell the owner(s) take pride in their restaurant. If you like Chinese food at good prices and with great flavor then check out Lucky Star. We'll be back when driving through.

We ate here for lunch in a Saturday, ordered the soup dumplings with crab filling, the wonton…read morenoodle soup, and the spicy pigs blood soup with tripe and vegetables. It was all delicious. The spicy pigs blood was a very large serving, easily feeding two. The wonton noodle soup was a good size for the price. The soup dumplings were ok value. The restaurant was very nice and clean and had a nice ambience. The booth seating was very private. Our server was friendly and informative. There seemed to be a lot of variety on the menu that would appeal to both adventurous and non adventurous palettes. Would definitely eat here again and try more of the menu.

Let me start by saying - we were super pleasantly surprised to find a Szechuan place in Kansas. Secondly, the spice wasn't too spicy, so it's more manageable. And lastly, for 10 people, we shared 10 dishes, and it came to only $150.... plus tip, we were still less than $20 a person! That's amazing... that's probably only 5 dishes in NJ/NY, at most. Favs: - Stir fried cabbage, a little spicy but solid. - Veggie lo mein was a hit with the kids, didn't even get to try it. - Egg fried rice was solid, good flavor, enough soy - Hot & spicy fish fillet in chili oil was excellent, not too spicy - Beef in hot sour broth - probably my favorite with the sour pickled veggies - Braised eggplant w/ garlic & chili was solid Just ok: - Braised pork was fatty, and the sauce wasn't as savory as I wanted - Sizzling beef - a little too long on the sizzling plate made it hard by the time I tried it, so probably need to revisit when the dish first comes out and the kids don't delay it - Spicy pig's blood w/ tripe & veggies was ok; I've had better versions but this included a good mix of the offal and veggies. - Potato w/ vinegar flavor - I get the feeling they probably didn't hear that we wanted the one that was spicy; this lacked that peppery ma-la kick. They ran out of the sauteed water spinach, but that's ok... we were full up! Definitely a delicious surprise and good spot to grab food. That being said, service was very slow, so make sure you're aware of that before you go in at a busy time... temper your expectations on speed of service.

I was recommended to try out this place after a recent change in management. The staff are now…read moreprimarily Vietnamese, upping the quality of Pho and Banh Xeo. The main area is still undergoing rework, but has 5 tables, one for staff. A quick peek in the kitchen, you'll find stainless steel modern tables, sinks, and prep areas. Along with several woks on hot fire stoves to get you that wonderful wok hay. I had the house special fried rice, which mine had char siu pork, shrimp, chicken, and beef. It was surprisingly chock full of meat, without having too much, remaining balanced with the rice. Not too many vegetables in the fried rice. It was very filling, along with a relatively low price point. I also had an order of fried wings with sauce on the side. The wings were crispy with a nice crust usually expected of chinese-style chicken wings. The wings stayed piping hot for a surprisingly long time, despite the cold weather. It also retained an excellent juicy and soft inside, perfectly cooked, falling off the bone. The sauce was of the chunky kind, letting you both dip, or spoon it on and have the onions, peppers, and sesame seeds on it. The slightly sweet and tangy sauce, with a mild spice well compliments the high temperature and fatty wings. You might think $8.99 is too much for 6 wings, but these wings were freaking massive. Those chickens were pumping some huge irons to get that kind of wingspan.

This was a door dash order and a new place that had been added to the line up. I got the sweet and…read moresour chicken ,,,(comes with an egroll and I added Jasmine fried rice with a scrambled egg). I also got the crab wonton rolls. The chicken has a good flavor, actually, everything has a good flavor. My only issue and it's not the restaurants fault but it took a minute to get to my place. I think the driver may have gotten mixed up with the directions. This caused the food to not be so hot and crispy. With that being said... Maybe the restaurant can place everything in foil so that things like the egroll, chicken and wontons will stay crispy. The sauce was thin and light so the flavor was not strong. The duck sauce was really good though. I will definitely give this restaurant another try.
