Very happy with Kinetic. I was wary to make the switch as I was unable to find a positive review, so I kept Spectrum and ran both simultaneously for about 2 weeks. I work from home and need high speed service that is reliable. Kinetic has delivered. I requested the 1 Gig plan, which is providing 900 Mbps down and 850 Mbps up consistently for the past month. The price point is very reasonable at 50 dollars a month. We stream all of our entertainment and have up to 12 devices connected without issue. I recommend Kinetic for anyone within their service territory. read more

Have been a Windstream Kinetic customer for 29 years only because of limited access to other providers. Worst speeds, interruptions and pricing. Pay $180 mo. just to try and get decent speeds as I work remotely. Miss 3 days of work per month due to poor connectivity and repair response time is always 3 to 7 days out even if you tell them you need service for work. Kinetic never reimbursed for the days of not getting service but CS keeps saying they will. They never bury their lines in my area so you see orange lines on the road, in the grass, running up trees, and even hanging from telephone poles. Out of the hundreds of times I have called repair, I have finally been told the truth. CR said best thing I can do is find another provider. The price is good but then again you get what you pay for I guess. It seems like once a month there's an outage that lasts more than 24 hours and you can't get any information on estimated times or causes. I wished I could give these people a star ,I called these guys a week ago to get an estimate for internet it was too high couldn't afford it ,a week later a representative called me and asked me if I had found an internet company I said no she said they had a special based on my credit for $15 a month for one year an additional $10 the following year making it $25 based on my credit ,I hesitated to give her my social security number but she assured me it was a soft hit on my credit, I finally gave her my credit card social security number she said I was approved for the $15 a month deal and I would get an additional credit for being an AT&t customer, I told her to send me the deal to my email 24 hours later there was no email I contacted their customer service department and after being on the phone with them for about a half an hour they listen to the conversation I had with the representative who initially signed me up and they said she was wrong there was no such deal so they basically took all my information and told me to go kick rocks stay away from these guys at all cars they're scammers I'm going to file a complaint with the FTC and the better Business bureau read more

Our internet has now been out for over 24 hours. My wife works from home, and she's so far missed a day of work, looking like she's about to come up on a second missed day. The ONLY reason I went with Kinetic over their competitor is because I was told by a technician with them that the WiFi will ONLY ever go out if our power went out. Our power has NOT ever gone out. I pay $113/mo for 2gb fiber speeds. This is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention trying to get ahold of customer support has been a f*cking nightmare. Crazy part is, even tho my wife's about to have missed out on nearly 2 days of work, we STILL won't get any type of compensation on our bill. 100% go with ANY other provider, so long as they don't blatantly lie to your face. If our issue isn't resolved in the next 6 hours I am absolutely disconnecting this service and going with the other option. read more

They said I should have noticed sooner and their contract says that. They are thieves Half the time we have to use pur phones Hotspot for the TVs Would never recommend!! My boyfriend and I decided to switch internet providers because Kinetic did not do what they promised. The bill was supposed to be 77. and some change. The 1st bill was 88.90 the second bill was 88.90 the 3rd bill was 98.90, so that's when we decided to change. He called to have it cancelled, but the service was not to be disconnected until Jan 8th. He called on Jan 2nd. The accpunt is paid up until Jan 13th. The morning of the 3rd, the internet was disconnected. We called to find out why. No answers just a run around. I will never go back to this service and would never recommend this company to anybody. Horrible customer service. I was transferred 5 times because no one knows what they are doing. read more

Unfortunately, it is the only choice for internet service in the rural area where my mother and I live. It is terrible. Constantly goes in and out - you'll be in the middle of something online and the internet goes out and stays off for a couple of minutes or more. I have been evaluating Kinetic fiber for about 7 months after a sales guy came by the house and offered a lower cost promotion than our cable provider. Really nice guy. I told him that I always had trouble with Windstream when they were our DSL ISP, years ago. It seemed like there had been some positive changes at Windstream and I decided to give them a second chance. Installation was smooth and service generally good until the past two months. There was an outage both months that sent me to a coffee shop. The most recent outage started in the morning and wasn't resolved until the morning of the following day. I don't know what time it came back on that day, but basically spent 2 days at a coffee shop. They advertise 99.9% SLA and the 1+ day outage was just a bit much so I switched back to my previous provider. I asked for a full month refund but they refunded $10 for the 1-2 day outage. But I don't believe my request was unreasonable given their inability to commit to their SLA. 2 stars. Internet service was good, but reliability is a huge priority for me, customer service was reasonable but not enough focus on making sure I was compensated for my inconvenience. They were also sure to tell me that if I don't return the modem in the box they send out, I would be charged ~$100. I just have a bleh feeling and, similar to the first time I separated from Windstream years ago, a sense of relief. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. Internet didn't work for 2 months and I continued to be charged and told they would credit my bill when it was fixed. Two months later and it's finally fixed but they want me to pay the two months worth of bills I got for no service before they'll credit my account for the next two months. Ridiculous. read more

On April 18, 2025 I was scheduled for a technician to come to my home to repair. I received a message that morning that Lee would be arriving at my home between 4:45 pm and 6 pm. At 1:00 pm I received a text message stating the Lee was on his way to my home and would be arriving in 5 minutes. I called the company to let them know that nobody would be home cause that's not the time the service was set for. The lady I spoke to informed me that Lee wouldn't be there in 5 minutes that he would be there between 4:45 pm and 6:00 pm. I hung up the phone and 5 minutes later my mother-in-law called me telling me that Lee was at my home. By the way she doesn't have a key to our home. So she has to call my husband to come home and open the door. Since he has to take off work early he lost $120.00 in wages. When I called the company and asked them for a credit they told me they would put in a request and get back to me. Fast forward almost a month, nobody has called back. So I called them and I have been on hold and transferred to 5 different people. The last lady told me no she can't give you a credit cause it's not their fault. Okay so if I would have cancelled the appointment they would have charged me the $50.00 cancellation fee. Even though Lee wasn't supposed to be there at 1:05 pm and the agent I talked to promised me he would not be there until the scheduled time. I don't think I'm asking.for to much considering the wages my husband lost and the hours I have lost talking on the phone. read more

Internet frequently glitches and there is a massive delay (up to 30 seconds). Customer service is lousy. if you have any issues that require an in person visit you can expect a 1 week wait for service. I would not keep the service but my neighborhood has no other options. Windstream changes my billing amount every other month with no explanation. called customer service was on hold 28 minutes and then transferred twice then cut off. Internet is constantly buffering and pausing whatever you happen to be using. I do NOT recommend this service. You will regret it. read more

Windstream has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen by any company. I first called on October the 4th with this issue. They told me they would be out on October the 28th, then changes it ti October the 30th. They were supposed to change the account to my name from my parents that have passed. Then upgrade the equipment. Not it's October the 30th and no one showed up. I have been on the phone for 2 hours, have been transferred 12 times and no help yet. Now they are telling me not until November the 27th. If you have any other choices, take them. Worst possible service. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. A technician from Windstream cut my internet last week, and when I called in to set up an appointment to have it fixed (because of course the tech could not fix it or schedule a time for it to be fixed), they told me it would be over a week before someone could come out to reconnect the fiber cable. I work from home, and when I said I needed it repaired before then, I was assured my ticket had been "escalated" and someone would be reaching out with an earlier appointment date. That never happened. In fact, when I called back to check on the ticket's status, I was told that the ticket actually had not been escalated, and that they would submit it then. Nothing came of that, either. When I called in an attempt to speak with a manager/supervisor, I was transferred to a black hole of hold music for 20 minutes before I finally hung up. The internet is good when it is running. I am sure the field worker is also good. OMG, the customer service is unreal. They are outsourced and are from India. I literally had to call like seven times and speak to two different floor supervisors. I got no peace of mind. I also think one of the supervisors is purposely messing with my account, so I don't get the urgent help I needed. I run a business, phone and internet is out that means I am losing money by the hour. They said the next available field worker will not be available until 5 days later. I told them that is not excectable, so they said they would try to escalate the situation faster. They sent me an email with the work order, and my service address is some random address a state away. I had to verify my service address twice, so I don't know why they put some random address in without verifying to me.They are just playing games over there in India. While the high speed internet is great (when it works), the service is absolutely awful. It's quite expensive too. We've spent more time without WiFi than with it because the provided routers crash and go out continuously. And we've had Kinetic/Windstream for well over a decade because it's the only available fiber option in our area. Their routers are poor quality and crash every few months, the response time is awful when requesting repairs, and getting a representative on the phone is near impossible at times, and when you do get someone on the phone they put you on hold at least 3 times, 5-10 minutes each time. This is the second time a technician has had to come out and repair our service in a little over a month, first time was 10 days without WiFi and this time is going on 7 days without it, and we're 5 days away from the supposed appointment date/time. Unfortunately this is our only option without having to choose satellite. I do not recommend. Edit: A very friendly technician repaired our service exactly one week ago. However, last night the internet dropped again and I tried resetting the router multiple times only to be met with the same issue as the last time it went out. Called customer service to either request a repair within the next 24 hours or cancel my service if they couldn't do so. Was told I'd receive a confirmation text by this afternoon with a date and time. Never received it. It baffles me that they let their customers go without internet for weeks at a time, only for it to go out again one week later. It's extremely inconvenient when you work from home and rely on internet to make a living. We will be exploring other options in the area, this is unacceptable. read more

I will say that since kinetic took over Windstream it has gotten progressively worse over the last few years. Possibly the last straw for me is that we have been without phone service and internet since 9/26/24 and was told service would be fixed by 10/11/24 yet still no service as I leave this review. I have been actively looking for new service with another company being that it appears we won't have service for a while, I am so disappointed in Windstream and all of the things I have been forced to miss out on due to no service. read more

Kinetic lacks business ethics. We are paying for 1G of high speed internet. We have never received even near that. We are typically somewhere between 50 to 200 mbps. However, throughout the day there are many drops to around 4 mbps. Very slow. I even showed the Kinetic tech this when he was at our home. Kinetic sees no problem with charging us for 1G even though we are not receiving it. read more

RUN AWAY... in the last month, I have had 5 tickets with Kinetic, the same I had in 3 years with Spectrum. 4 outages in the last 4 weeks, waiting days for a technician, and losing more money from not being able to work than what Spectrum gigabit would cost me for 2 years. All of the tickets have been on the main line side of the installation. It is not worth saving $10 a month if I lose thousands not being able to work. read more
