If I could leave 0 stars I would. The only consistent thing about this company is their service sucks. 100mbs advertised, 10mbs delivered. On top of delivering 10% of their advertised speed they increase prices randomly. A brand new customer is paying 24.99 for 100mbs I was a customer of 4 years and the actual bill was $136/mo. Starlink is $80/mo they advertised 250mbs and deliver 300. Finally cancelled them on 12/26/25 and the representative informed me service would continue until 1/6/25 as I had already paid up to that date. 12/31/25 they auto drafted my account for the full $136. Called back in to make sure I had cancelled and the representative fed me a line about how this bill covered December and that the first representative was wrong and she couldn't do anything about it. So now they get $136 from me for a whopping 0 days of service. Criminal theives in my book. I genuinely don't want that $136 back because then I would have to give this piss poor excuse of a company another minute of my time. read more

Our experience has been so-so. When it works- it's ok. When it doesn't- customer service & repair is terrible. And this last event- sums it up perfectly: Arrrrggghhhh....Friday our internet (WiFi) was slow so we called windstream (Kinetic). The guy did something online. And now any devices that weren't on WiFi when he did whatever- can't find our router. Including the televisions (Roku) & printer. So we called back. When the new guy on the phone said they had to come out & work on our cables (?) & was incredibly dismissive, didn't spend any time on the call. What he was saying makes no sense bc the cables were fine prior to guy 1 doing something online. And the earliest they can come is Monday. We tried an online chat & that was even more pointless. No one could tell us why our cables were fine until the representative dialed in, identified all the devices currently online & reset something. So it's Sunday, I set aside today to Christmas craft & watch TV & those at Windstream (Kinetic) have spoiled my plans...Not to mention- no printer- no printer is a real problem for working from home, children's school assignments & Christmas cards...we've figured out a work around but it's incredibly inconvenient. read more

Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Tech came to do mandatory fiber upgrade on July 1st. He couldn't do it because there were no open connections, he called in a work order. He said about a week. Three weeks later I called customer service. They insisted I schedule a house visit which I knew was wrong. I did so but asked to speak to a supervisor to clarify. Got put on a call back list never got a call. Wrong guy came but got his supervisor to work out 1st problem. Then scheduled upgrade, tech never showed. They canceled when I didn't return a text despite me saying repeatedly that it was a landline that couldn't receive texts. Next appointment is for the 29th. What I was told would take a week is taking a month if then. I am giving 1 star only because 0 isn't an option. read more

Is there a negative star..... I've been a customer of theirs for several years. I haven't been able to use my Internet all month due to intermittent connection. Their troubleshooters are scripted and know absolutely nothing on how to fix the issue and neither does the techs. The one they sent out to fix my service made it worse even admitted to it and now here we are still intermittent connection so bad I cant even get a Wi-Fi call out on my cell. I pay extreme high bill with awful service that apparently no one in the company knows how to fix... $147 and some change on a monthly bill for something we haven't even been able to use. If you work from home stay far far away from windstream/kinetic. Their internet is unreliable, their customer service offers nothing but the same canned response over and over, and thier outages last for days. "Thank you for being Kinetic customer, we are working as fast as possible to resolve the outage." Total BS. I would drive by the downed line for days after calling customer service repeatedly to fix the downed line. I missed multiple days of work. We were just not a priority for them. They did not begin work on the outage until four days later. That is about on par for windstream if you read other reviews. If you have a choice, do not get this if you value reliability and quick resolution of outages in your provider. Here are the events with my experience from windstream/kinetic as follows. Friday at noon. I call in because my internet connection was really really slow. Like less than 100mb per second. The tech support had me reset and power cycle some things and the connection never returns. They dispatched a technician to my home. He looked at it for maybe a few minutes, and told me that they can't fix it until Monday. Monday rolls around and it still isn't fixed. I called the cancellation line repeatably because this is the only way to get someone to talk to the local area manager. All other means of customer service offer nothing but the canned response above. I call them and ask if they plan on fixing their outage and the area manager told the rep they are sending someone out right away. Hours go by, nothing is done. I call again and have the rep talk to the area manager. He gave some sorry excuse that the problem was what they thought it was and they are presently working on it. So I drive by the downed location. There is a truck there but nobody working... "quickly as possible" The small town is already very very upset and have turned to Facebook to encourage people to switch providers which many are doing. Windstream said that it should be fixed tonight at 11:30PM on Facebook but no guarantees. We will see if that pans out. Will probably cancel due to the incredible lack of customer service and competency in resolving outages in a timely manner. read more

We switched to Kinetic for phone and internet on Feb. 23, 2024. Since then, the landline has had no dialtone EVERY WEEK! We have had tech support, multiple tech service calls, and even tried a new phone. We still have NO dialtone and have not had one since Friday afternoon. Now they tell me they can't do anything about it until Monday. I had a serious medical incident last year and all my doctors and hospitals have the landline number. I will give them one more chance to get this fixed permanently, then I am going back to Comcast! read more

If you are not going to do a satisfactory job, then don't do it at all. This is ridiculous. They did not put new grass everywhere that needed. They chose the the few spots they wanted to install it, still leaving many muddy areas destroyed by the initial digging and and burial of the new cable. The new grass died within a week, even with me watering it everyday. Also my neighbors drive was half completed and that half was still not done correctly (you can see the black barrier just sticking out, its very crooked. How are you only going to approve half to be repaired of his damaged driveway. MAKES NO SENSE! Please come back out and redo all the areas that need new grass and fix my neighbors driveway properly. read more

I'm not a customer, but today I came home to a trench in my yard and my lines cut. This was done by a five truck crew of Kinetic workers. I then learned that lines were cut throughout the yards of my neighbors as well. The lines cut were the lines from every other internet provider that wasn't them. I found it extremely difficult to get a person on the phone to tell them this happened. If this is how they do business, it will never be with me. If you have another option where you live, I feel that you should look into it. I live in Georgia and this company appears to be rife with incompetence in my area. read more

Our Internet stopped working and they sent some to repair it. After replacing the modem it worked when he tested it. That evening we tried and it will not stay connected and doesn't work at all with multiple devices. Our new appointment is in two weeks. I am only giving a 2 because there was 1 lady I found (w some random number I called because others were not letting me connect to someone to a person with my account number that did not match in their system) was the one finally to get me a ticket for a technician to come out and the other star is for the technician that did come out. The other circles I had to go for several weeks trying to get help all the while they still billing me. The first week was me calling and getting an automated message saying we are aware of outages, no times or dates available for fixing. I have had them for years with no technical issues per say but several outages. I call to try and fix my bill and I get $50 off because no notes in system. I said well they didn't send a technician out and new router and fix outside lines across street for no reason.. I said I can also goto my emails and go through and tell you all the names of the people I'm suppose to fill serveys out for over the past several weeks. $50.. at least when my power is out I know I'm not getting charged and saving money. Do NOT use Windstream/Kinetic. I paid my bill on 5/1 and disconnected my service on 5/12. Once disconnected I no longer had access to my account via the app. They proceeded to bill me for an additional month, at a higher rate, did not send me a bill or contact me in any way, and by 6/9 I had been referred to a collections agency. When I call customer service they refused to assist me, instead repeatedly asked for payment, and then refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. read more

Charging me three times as much,$130 vs $39.99, for 50 times less mbps, 10mbps vs 500 mbps, for a "NEW" customer. Been with them for almost twenty years. Representative just gave me the run around. I couldn't get her to understand I am being charged $130 for 10 mbps and a new customer is being charged $39.99 for 500 mbps. This is a big discrepancy to me. I'm having the worst service with them, In my almost four years with kinetic, I've had to change out my modem three times, and have to call customer service almost three to four times a year cause it goes offline for no apparent reason, cause I pay on time so it shouldn't go offline. While I pay over $100 a month, I expect to have great connection and service. But I've been getting headaches after headaches with my service with them. Windstream is a scam DO NOT do business with them. We have switched internet providers for over a year. We sent back our router or else we would have had to pay $100. We have a receipt from USPS that our package with the router was delivered to them. We are getting calls still, after a year threatening if we do not pay they will leak our social security numbers. Have been a Windstream Kinetic customer for 29 years only because of limited access to other providers. Worst speeds, interruptions and pricing. Pay $180 mo. just to try and get decent speeds as I work remotely. Miss 3 days of work per month due to poor connectivity and repair response time is always 3 to 7 days out even if you tell them you need service for work. Kinetic never reimbursed for the days of not getting service but CS keeps saying they will. They never bury their lines in my area so you see orange lines on the road, in the grass, running up trees, and even hanging from telephone poles. Out of the hundreds of times I have called repair, I have finally been told the truth. CR said best thing I can do is find another provider. Very happy with Kinetic. I was wary to make the switch as I was unable to find a positive review, so I kept Spectrum and ran both simultaneously for about 2 weeks. I work from home and need high speed service that is reliable. Kinetic has delivered. I requested the 1 Gig plan, which is providing 900 Mbps down and 850 Mbps up consistently for the past month. The price point is very reasonable at 50 dollars a month. We stream all of our entertainment and have up to 12 devices connected without issue. I recommend Kinetic for anyone within their service territory. read more

It seems like once a month there's an outage that lasts more than 24 hours and you can't get any information on estimated times or causes. I wished I could give these people a star ,I called these guys a week ago to get an estimate for internet it was too high couldn't afford it ,a week later a representative called me and asked me if I had found an internet company I said no she said they had a special based on my credit for $15 a month for one year an additional $10 the following year making it $25 based on my credit ,I hesitated to give her my social security number but she assured me it was a soft hit on my credit, I finally gave her my credit card social security number she said I was approved for the $15 a month deal and I would get an additional credit for being an AT&t customer, I told her to send me the deal to my email 24 hours later there was no email I contacted their customer service department and after being on the phone with them for about a half an hour they listen to the conversation I had with the representative who initially signed me up and they said she was wrong there was no such deal so they basically took all my information and told me to go kick rocks stay away from these guys at all cars they're scammers I'm going to file a complaint with the FTC and the better Business bureau read more

Our internet has now been out for over 24 hours. My wife works from home, and she's so far missed a day of work, looking like she's about to come up on a second missed day. The ONLY reason I went with Kinetic over their competitor is because I was told by a technician with them that the WiFi will ONLY ever go out if our power went out. Our power has NOT ever gone out. I pay $113/mo for 2gb fiber speeds. This is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention trying to get ahold of customer support has been a f*cking nightmare. Crazy part is, even tho my wife's about to have missed out on nearly 2 days of work, we STILL won't get any type of compensation on our bill. 100% go with ANY other provider, so long as they don't blatantly lie to your face. They added a land line and protection without my authorization. Spent over $900 on those alone in 2 years. They only gave me 6 month credit. They said I should have noticed sooner and their contract says that. They are thieves Half the time we have to use pur phones Hotspot for the TVs Would never recommend!!
