The internet service itself is great - very reliable, and the guy who did my installation was awesome. The company itself is scummy. Customer service will talk you in circles for hours. They straight-up lie about their prices to new customers. They repeatedly try to put an equipment rental fee on my bill even though I supplied my own router. They'll also raise your bill every year with no justification. And forget about the "prepaid Mastercard reward." I never got mine despite calling about it numerous times. If I had any other option, I'd go with another company just to avoid giving Kinetic another dollar. read more

Wish I could rate zero stars! My experience with Windstream was great until it came time to disconnect (due to move.) They charged just to disconnect the service. They have to send labels so that the equipment can be returned and two weeks later I have no labels. So I fully expect to be charged for not returning the equipment on time even though I have contacted them 3 times to ask why I have not received the labels. Why can't they email the labels like everyone else does??? Probably so they can hit you up for more $$$$. In the event you have no choice besides Windstream, then DON'T USE AUTOPAY!!!! I was looking for a cheaper fiber internet option and after their sales team stopped by a couple of times I decided to give them a try. I scheduled an install on a Friday between 1-3, they never showed up. I understand things happen but what was inexcusable was that they never called or communicated in any way that they would need to reschedule. I didn't hear from them on the following Monday either. So on Tuesday I called to cancel the install. During the call they stated, "they had to bury a line" so they were unable to do the install. Still, I told them I wanted to cancel. They didn't even try to keep me as a customer. When I got them to cancel it the employee ended the call with, "thank you for choosing Kinetic". I ordered and am paying for the fastest business internet service with phone lines, phone rentals, and e fax. The speed is never close to the 1 Gig ordered. The phone service seems to be OK though dialing or is ancient technology. The reason this is a poor value or decision is that the customer service is not there. The project managers are a joke. We are paying $74.00 at best 44/12 Mbps with no traffic, whether wired or wireless, to the modem. Increasing traffic reduces speeds to 24/9 Mbps. This is way too much money for that speed, considering their own fiber-optic plan is cheaper and faster. The copper wire in our area is likely deteriorating due to the lack of speed. For two years, Winstream has told us that fiber optics will be available in our area soon. This has turned out to be a bald-faced lie. Their customer service has told us there is nothing we can do, and a couple of times refused to send a tech out. I have had an IP conflict for quite some time and have to use a VPN to play my game. I was told that it is a bandwidth issue. Obviously, that's not true because being on a VPN has nothing to do with bandwidth, just masks my IP. The other issue is the bandwidth. Technical support's solution is to disconnect devices while using other devices, and it won't lag. That is not a viable solution because the devices we use and have are quite normal for any household. The tech support has no clue what they are doing. Our speed is becoming obsolete. The only fix to our problem is a speed increase due to applications requiring more bandwidth now. All together, Winstream has been extremely unhelpful. Also, I feel we are being price-gouged because of the lack of ISPs in rural areas. $74.00 is highway robbery for that speed. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB. Next, I will be filing a complaint with the FCC. Also, I will be consulting with an attorney for Winstream not living up to their obligation as far as speed, providing adequate customer service, and reliability. Edit: I did contact them, only for them to continue to blame us for the problem in their response. Their go-to was that there are too many devices on our network. They must think I'm stupid and don't know what's really going on. We have had the same number of devices on this network since 2020, and never had any problems until a decline started happening a year ago. No apology at all. No, we will do our best to fix this. The truth is that the speed is lacking for modern applications. Also, the copper wire is obsolete and needs to be changed to fiber-optics. So if you are in a rural area on copper and the service is going bad, make sure to contact the FCC. Winstream, either maintain your copper more proactively or get it switched out ASAP. read more

The dumbest techs on the planet. A year ago a storm came through and I lost internet and power. Power was restored prompt but internet, not so fast. Called and dumb and dumber disguised as techs came out. Tech in this instance is a very loose term. Anyway, was told that a construction crew had to come out to repair the line and it would be in five days. 8 days later I called back. I was told almost laughingly that, "We don't have a construction crew." Then another tech came out. We both walked to the break on the same pole where the power was restored. We both not only saw the break in the line but we also saw enough slack to not only to reconnect the line but plenty left over. So he left and dumb and dumber came back out. These baffoons, I'm sorry for desecrating buffoon but that's the best way to describe these morons and still be compliant with the FCC and online protocols. They were so inept that they could not figure out the colors on the wires, so they literally ran a new line 350 feet LEAVING THE OLD LINE IN MY NEIGHBORS YARD. Windstream recently changed how they take incoming calls for service. The way I understand it is your call will be answered by someone within your geographic region. Personally, this change has been very noticable and exceptional. I live in Georgia and my CS rep was Crystal. Because of this new change I will continue to do business with Windstream and I recommend you do the same. read more

Recently I had a bad experience with a representative. We all experience this occasionally, and people are only human. However, the price I was paying for service compared to a company offering me new service was so large that I questioned how much I was paying. The representative was dismissive cold devoid of any emotion as if she was actually on some sort of sedative. My line was cut by state roadside lawnmowers, so obviously that I could see where it was cut. When you try to get technician support to fix it they say it is an area wide issue. When you complain loud enough and ask for a supervisor they will schedule a technician to come out. Unfortunately they will then cancel the appointment through text the day of or day before after you make arraignments to be there because they threaten fines if you are not there. The reason they say is that a technician can not come out until area wide issue is fixed. This is This happened 4 times before I finally got a technician to come 2 months later. Then you have to try to get refund but they don't want to give you refund because they don't have records of your internet being out because the ticket got cancelled. I am now dealing with the same process because lightning caused the box to literally explode while I was looking at it. I am one canceled appointment in and being told a technician can not be sent out because it is an area wide issue. I received a letter signed by their President Jeff Small, telling me that they were running fiber in my area and to scan the QR code at the bottom to find out more and be updated as to progress. Kintetic has a LOUSY reputation in the industry, but I thought I would give it a try. I was taken to a form that asked for my name, the reason for my request, all the usual stuff. I was then connected to an "Indira G" who then asked me for all of the same information again only to tell me that she couldn't answer any of my questions and I would have to call customer support at 800-347-1991. I was already having a bad experience, but I thought I would give them their chance. My call was answered (after a LOT of noise of someone getting an ear-bud in) from a Heather who couldn't have sounded less entheused by my call. She asked for my address, had a TERRIBLE time in understanding how to spell "Cattle" in the name of my street, then "put me on a brief hold" that was all of 15 minutes of dead-silence. By now I just wanted to see how the whole thing would turn out. Heather popped back on (with the SAME amount of noise in getting her ear-bud back into her ear) and told me (again) that she was putting me on a brief hold. I was then transferred into a hold queue (with music this time) when my call was answered by someone who was DEFINITELY "South of the border". She couldn't understand why I would be talking to her if I didn't have an account. I explained (again) about the letter in my hand, asking if she knew whom I could speak to about when they would be expanding into my area and what it would likely cost me poer month. She curtly told me that there was no one that could answer those questions. I was already 30 minutes in to a waste of my time, so I thanked her and hung up. THIS is my experience BEFORE I become a Customer??? What on God's green earth could POSSIBLY compel me to BECOME a Customer? Sadly, this is PRECISELY what I expected my experience to be like, but hope springs eternal. I don't care if Kinetic provides lightning-fast psionic internet linksfor myself and the dogs, there is NO way that I will *EVER IN MY LIFE* sign up as a Customer with these losers. The offer is $40 for their fiber, kinetic, or $120 for their best broadband which is 24mbps (hasn't changed since I was there in college 10yrs ago minus the price going way up). I don't even want to give them one star!!! We have tried to get internet to our newly developed property for over two years. Our neighbors have been interested in the same service to no avail. Speaking with customer service has been a complete waste of time because they say it's available, but when the technicians come out, they say it's 1600 ft away and an engineer would have to come out. We've been told this each time we've had them come up to hook us up. I've called customer service every month to check on my open ticket and have been told they are escalating my ticket, and someone local will be in touch, yet here I am still with no internet. Kinetic has changed. I live in cresson texas and have had kinetic for almost a year now. I've had maybe two outages that where fixed within 10 hours. I get on average 900mb/s down and 800 mb/s up with about 3 ping. When ive had to call customer service they are awesome. I got a guy that obviously works from home and was taking his dog out to pee while he tried to get a response from his boss and was just chatting about life with me while we waited.10 out of 10 better than spectrum. I am stuck with DSL as the only option. No cable or cell service in the area and too many trees for Starlink. Windstream comes out due to very weak (3mbs) signal. Replaces modem and says line is bad. Lines are buried some lays the new line on the road and says a crew will be by in 3-4 weeks to bury it. Lasts 8.5 hours then it goes back to 2-3mbs. I had to wait a week for the first tech, now had to wait another week for them to come back, and then a no show on the tech. No wonder they have bankruptcy issues! Horrible management! read more

Horrible internet and even worse customer service. My wifi quit working one day. I called them on Sunday, 7/6/25 and they said they would be out to fix it on Friday 7/11/25. So, all week without wifi was lovely. Anywhere, I was told I would receive a call Friday morning with a 2-hiur window in which they would come. Long story short, I never received a call. I called 3 times over the course of 5 hours, and no could give me a time, but kept assuring me they were still coming. Finally, the 3rd time I talked to someone they said they were overbooked and would not be able to come out until 7/15/25. I said nope, just cancel my whole service. If I could leave 0 stars I would. The only consistent thing about this company is their service sucks. 100mbs advertised, 10mbs delivered. On top of delivering 10% of their advertised speed they increase prices randomly. A brand new customer is paying 24.99 for 100mbs I was a customer of 4 years and the actual bill was $136/mo. Starlink is $80/mo they advertised 250mbs and deliver 300. Finally cancelled them on 12/26/25 and the representative informed me service would continue until 1/6/25 as I had already paid up to that date. 12/31/25 they auto drafted my account for the full $136. Called back in to make sure I had cancelled and the representative fed me a line about how this bill covered December and that the first representative was wrong and she couldn't do anything about it. So now they get $136 from me for a whopping 0 days of service. Criminal theives in my book. I genuinely don't want that $136 back because then I would have to give this piss poor excuse of a company another minute of my time. read more

Our current weekly average is about 8 drops a week and we aim to go higher! We don't use contractors, our in-house construction crew are the train professionals and we've got you covered.
