Spoke to answering service then received a call back saying a technician can come out to diagnose the problem. I explained I'm not sure I want monitoring but just a service call and asked how much that would be? She said we send technicians free to diagnose the problem. My original appointment I did have to change as I could not be home so I rescheduled for today. Had an appointment at 9:30 this morning. Received a phone call at 9:15 asking if I could text pictures of the security system. Received call back and was told it's an older system and I would need to spend $500-$800 for a new system. The system when I moved in was working so obviously I did something to make it not work. Just wanted it fixed not a new system. Was told I would need to call ADT. I asked a dealer or direct. Robert said "Direct and good luck with that". If all I had to do was text pictures then why would I set aside time in my day and juggle other things reschedule if you don't send a technician out as requested and discussed? I would never use this company. Robert was short and rude. DON"T USE THEM! See Robert's reply below. He is correct in that I'm not a paying customer and now NEVER WILL BE. I called in and the woman said they could send out a technician to diagnose the issue. I asked if there was a fee assuming there should and would be. She stated again, "we send technicians free". What they do is fifteen minutes before the scheduled appointment call request pictures of the system, that's their type of scheduled appointment.
