Windstream Kinectic is horrible. They leave a temporary wire above ground for two weeks going across 2 properties...then show up a week later and take said wire without double checking to see if we still have internet... we don't now...and tell us oops...we will be back in 3 days to give you the internet back you paid for this month. Horrible service. Disconnecting from them in 3.....2....1.... read more

The worst and the most dishonest internet company in the USA. In addition to the service to our business getting disconnected every single afternoon our bills go up every month. They also have the worst customer service and the most dishonest employees you can ever find in any company. read more

The internet is good when it is running. I am sure the field worker is also good. OMG, the customer service is unreal. They are outsourced and are from India. I literally had to call like seven times and speak to two different floor supervisors. I got no peace of mind. I also think one of the supervisors is purposely messing with my account, so I don't get the urgent help I needed. I run a business, phone and internet is out that means I am losing money by the hour. They said the next available field worker will not be available until 5 days later. I told them that is not excectable, so they said they would try to escalate the situation faster. They sent me an email with the work order, and my service address is some random address a state away. I had to verify my service address twice, so I don't know why they put some random address in without verifying to me.They are just playing games over there in India. Kenitic winstream should have customer service in America! We have way more competent people here also it is easier to understand. Kenitic winstream customer service is running your business into the ground. My trouble ticket #09507857 Please help I don't get why I have to go on here to get help. read more

Very unresponsive company . internet has been going out for months on whole street and will not fix.

While the high speed internet is great (when it works), the service is absolutely awful. It's quite expensive too. We've spent more time without WiFi than with it because the provided routers crash and go out continuously. And we've had Kinetic/Windstream for well over a decade because it's the only available fiber option in our area. Their routers are poor quality and crash every few months, the response time is awful when requesting repairs, and getting a representative on the phone is near impossible at times, and when you do get someone on the phone they put you on hold at least 3 times, 5-10 minutes each time. This is the second time a technician has had to come out and repair our service in a little over a month, first time was 10 days without WiFi and this time is going on 7 days without it, and we're 5 days away from the supposed appointment date/time. Unfortunately this is our only option without having to choose satellite. I do not recommend. Edit: A very friendly technician repaired our service exactly one week ago. However, last night the internet dropped again and I tried resetting the router multiple times only to be met with the same issue as the last time it went out. Called customer service to either request a repair within the next 24 hours or cancel my service if they couldn't do so. Was told I'd receive a confirmation text by this afternoon with a date and time. Never received it. It baffles me that they let their customers go without internet for weeks at a time, only for it to go out again one week later. It's extremely inconvenient when you work from home and rely on internet to make a living. We will be exploring other options in the area, this is unacceptable. read more

I will say that since kinetic took over Windstream it has gotten progressively worse over the last few years. Possibly the last straw for me is that we have been without phone service and internet since 9/26/24 and was told service would be fixed by 10/11/24 yet still no service as I leave this review. I have been actively looking for new service with another company being that it appears we won't have service for a while, I am so disappointed in Windstream and all of the things I have been forced to miss out on due to no service. read more

Kinetic lacks business ethics. We are paying for 1G of high speed internet. We have never received even near that. We are typically somewhere between 50 to 200 mbps. However, throughout the day there are many drops to around 4 mbps. Very slow. I even showed the Kinetic tech this when he was at our home. Kinetic sees no problem with charging us for 1G even though we are not receiving it. read more

We have been customers of Windstream for 30+ years, and their product & service, just keeps going downhill. They talked us into changing over from DSL to "FIBER", between 1-2 years ago. When the technician came out to change it over to "FIBER", it is NOT really fiber, like their letters and sales reps. states, but instead it is cable into your home. When questioning the technician, we were told they don't have fiber yet, and don't know when they will have it. He didn't know why they were telling us it would be fiber. We are paying for a 100 Gig speed internet service, and have recently been lucky to get 15 Gig. We keep running speed tests, and calling, with no assistance from Windstream. I am currently on a phone call with a rep. and have been placed on hold for a supervisor. I have been on hold for 59 minutes, listening to their music ... and then they HUNG UP ON ME AFTER 1 HOUR! I have to constantly call them about speed issues. Another problem is they have increased our bill by $12 in the past 8 months or so. They keep going up $6 at a time, every few months, but we CAN'T SEEM TO GET WHAT WE PAY FOR. Terrible company! I wouldn't recommend to anyone, if you have another option for internet. I am at the point, that I am going to see if there are any other options now for us. read more

The most garbage service ever untrained customer service reps for one. Had me on hold for 50 min back and forth to come up with Oops our fault, but we can't get out until the 23rd but it's the 19th duh so yeah go 5 days without service but we'll credit your account. Your hotspot on your phone is more reliable than them. I recommend that you run far and fast because they suck... in every facet of business. Be ready for this all the time I call it xmas colors because I see them so much. read more

Ive dealt with windstream for the last 15+ years and it has never improved. Literally the most unreliable service ever. Connection drops constantly and my speeds drop into the kbps when I pay for 1000mbps. I can call and complain but it always ends with them sending a technician over here just to change nothing a charge me more money. Support is a nightmare to deal with I've been hung up on countless times and no one knows what they're talking about so you end up being transferred to 5 different people. A lot of the time I just end up using my phone hotspot so atleast my connection is stable. Im so sick of dealing with windstream but they are the only provider in my area. read more

I have been running on 14 mb download and 90 k upload for about two weeks, called to get someone on the phone and see why we were running on smoke signals for internet. I got someone who told me that there were some crossed wires that would be simple to do, and that he would expedite someone out for the next day since we have not had any internet for two weeks, we work from home and the signal was so bad we can't even stay logged on. I was told that we would be charged if we were not there when they got there, and that they would give us a two hour notice. All day Monday we waited, nobody showed up. I get a text on Tue saying that someone would be out before the 21st of March. 11 days????????????? How is it that we get charged if we are not there when they get there, but they just don't show up and nothing happens? And please, do not respond with your copy and paste replies like you do everyone else. You are a scam of a company and should be sued by every single customer you have. I cannot wait for Tru Vista to come through because at least they have a good reputation for customer service and quality fiber. I will not be paying my bill since we don't have any internet and do not see that changing before the 5th of May when our Tru Vista will be up and running here. read more

Bad internet service. Always out. Do not waste your time with this company. Internet sucks

If you are going to consider the company Windstream for internet or phone service, consider my review. I got internet for 90 dollars a month. the internet was 30 mbs a second and not fast at all. I called to tell them I cant aford 90 dollers a month. I didn't like the internet so the company dropped it to 70 dollars. I decided to keep it to not deal with the hastle... A month before i had to move the company turned my internet off. I tryed to talk with someone after i got off work and couldn't get any one on the phone so I decided it was fine the company charged me for a month of internet i didn't get at my previous residence... here is what really makes me tick. I moved out and a month later after i had bin gone from the residence completely moved the company charged me for another month of service... The company finally sent the package to send back the gear for the internet so i sent it back the after receiving it the next business day. 3 months after not having service the company billed me for 100 dollars. so a little over 240.. I would not use this company. thanks for the read. read more

the service is terrible, I have had windstream for years because it is the only internet service where I live. every time it rains or here lately everyday the internet randomly just shuts off to the point i have to restart my modem 2 or 3 times a day. its ridiculous! paying over $100 dollars for up to 10 mb/s and I can barely get 4. read more

Kinetic by Windstream - Internet Service Providers Near Me

Today is Friday 8/2/24 and we have been without internet service since Monday 7/29/24. The first available appointment is for this Friday evening at 7:00 pm which IMO is a bit ridiculous. Especially after receiving text messages that confirmed our appointment, then canceled our appointment as they suspected it to be an area outage, only to then re-confirm our original appointment and notify us that we would be billed if we were not available when the technician arrives at 7:00 pm on a Friday evening. This is NOT how any company should treat its customers. One day the market will open up to some competition and Kinetics will suffer greatly from their poor business attitude and practices. That day cannot come fast enough for us. read more

I have used this company for several years. They have improved somewhat over the years but there is always room for improvement.

Windstream/kinetic will raise your rates every year, meanwhile the internet service is slow and will cut out 6-12 times per day. We call and the sent several service people out to fix the problem on different occasions and nothing changed. We then cancelled our service in August and switched to a different provider. We checked our bank account later in September and Windstream charged us for September after we had cancelled and switched companies. My wife called and their representative said they would cut a check for being overcharged and send it. It is now November and no check has arrived. When my wife called again, she got the run around! They will lie and bounce you around to different custome service people! They owe us 100 dollars. You can not trust Windstream/ Kinetic! Beware! read more

Do not recommend this service for Internet, especially if live in remote areas. We were out of Internet for two weeks with Kinetic and did not get any kind of compensation on bill. Customer service is not a priority. On top of that we were supposed to get a gift card when signing up but never did. Said they had wrong email address. Not happy with Kinetics. read more

Called the main number to ask questions regarding possibly getting service and experienced the most pushing individual ever. I ended up hanging up on him and didn't get all the details so I had my husband call the next day and he ended up having the same experience and ended up having to hang up on the lady too. She told him "sir you are the one that called me for help" when all he called for was the information. They get credit for each sign up and will do anything to just try and hook you. We found a different local option and they were fantastic read more

The service, when working is adequate to good. The technicians working locally are very good and personable. The customer service is absolutely abysmal. I'm an elderly cancer patient that needs internet for Dr's. I've been a loyal customer for years. I am here just like the others that cannot get the service they pay for... A company that genuinely cares for their customers would do really good in Lafayette, GA. No internet during this month only waiting on techs and being hung up on by trying to get help. I'm buying an antenna and a prepay service, it's got to be better than this company zero stars ZERO.... i always pay my bill in full, but i don't feel i should owe i haven't had service during June not for an entire day. I been up since 4 am calling hung up on people from Dominica republic, I simply needed help read more

I thought I try something different than mediacom so I ordered a installation with kinetic, they cancelled the installation saying the sellers did'nt ordered a disconnect yet. After 5 or 6 phone calls, finally got that straightened out.So they put me on the bottom of the list for installation, instead of Oct.11 now its oct. 24.Totally got screwed, have'nt even moved in yet. We lose service for no reason and the customer service reps are of no help. The technicians are good if you can ever get one sent out. If we had any other options we would ditch Windstream. By far the worst Internet service provider experience I've dealt with. read more

The internet is down once again. I have reset it and so did customer service representative when I called but nothing changed. I am only available for a technician to come to my home on Saturday mornings and I have relayed that message numerous times but yet and still they schedule me in the afternoon. I believe that is done purposely. This is UNACCEPTABLE and the worst service ever. They should have someone on call 24 hours for emergencies. I am not sure when my service will be restored. If zero was available for ratings, I would select it. This company doesn't seem to care about their customers because if they did this wouldn't keep happening so frequently. I see all of these bad reviews and it's sad that the CEO won't reach out to the consumer to resolve these issues immediately. If we were to stop paying until the problem is fixed, they'd send our account to collections which isn't fair. No service no pay! I noticed the automated replies are all the same. read more

they charge $2 for a paper bill, they charge $1.50 911 service even though you don't have their phone, they say speeds up to 300mps and charge an extra $10 a month even though speed is always 70-90 they are hard to get hold of read more

Do not get internet with them. You will go days without service and all they do is send a tech every time to "correct the issue" and you're back to the same issue the next month. (And you have to leave work every time to meet them) They won't refund money for the 4-5 days, per month, it takes to send a tech, and if you call customer service they bounce you between 4-6 different people and not a one of them knows anything about the equipment except to say "is the cord plugged in properly?" They are a waste of time and money. read more

Worst service provider. My internet connection has gone out 3 times in the last month. All of which have lasted days and one occurrence lasted almost 3 weeks. Very unstable connection like 60% of the time! There is a reason for the 1 star reviews from other people. It's legit. absolutely terrible customer service if you want to speak to anyone who will understand you and is in America good luck.
