I can't express to you what a pleasure it is to deal with him. He's super honest, super personable (has stories for days), and does amazing work. I wish I could say he did some of that amazing work for me, but it's a weird story: Our annoying HOA forces us to keep appearances up with our neighbors. Everything has to be just so, and our windows needed to be energy efficient. Our windows already looked great, but I have to abide by the HOA or else. So I called up Dave to get a quote on how much it would cost to upgrade the windows. We had a great conversation, he knew the area, and the sort of job, and like I said, he was an absolute pleasure to talk to. We picked a day, and he said he'd check it out and give me a quote. After he went out there to take a look, he asked if I wanted to the good news or the bad news. The Good News: The windows were already super energy efficient. He knows because he had put them in himself for the previous tenant a few years back. What a coincidence! The Bad News: He wasn't going to make any money on this job. Which, if you're paying attention, you may realize was also really good news for me. Dave could've just straight up done the job again and made more money (as some dishonest folks would've), but instead but he got a laugh out of me, and a customer for life. I will be calling him for every window job from here on out, and I think you should too.

As with every type of appointment for construction services you normally enter into a conversation hesitant wondering who is this guy, and will he give me a good price, a good job, stand behind work, or just give me a crappy job and run with my money, never to be heard from again. We've all heard the stories. Dave arrived at my home, introduced himself and we talked at great length about our siding project, and he did a walk around the home just to evaluate the job. He came back in, did a little figuring on a piece of paper, and gave us a price on the spot. While we knew not what to expect about the cost, we were somewhat surprised as it seemed a little over what we had budgeted. We talked a little longer and he explained in great detail what was needed and what he was going to do, he explained the funding and how it would work and he left. We thanked him for his time, his explanations, and his proposal and told him we would be in touch. After Dave left my wife and I sat down and discussed the project, the cost, and the timeline, as we wanted to get the project done before September this year. You know that everyone says, "Never take the first proposal, get prices, get multiple proposals, etc". We didn't know what it was exactly, but my wife and I both felt really good about our visit with Dave and so we decided to call him back the next day and enter into a contract. Not to make this review to long, the project was scheduled and actually took place a week earlier than expected. Dave anticipated a 5 day project, and they finished up in 4 days. His guys were like busy bees, only stopping for a 30 minute lunch break each day. Very professional, knew their profession, and did not need constant oversite. Dave's supervisor on the job Louis knew the job and knew the timeline and was sure to make it happen. While Dave was on the site almost every day, I think he thinks of himself as the cleanup crew picking up and taking garbage almost every day. There was no language barrier between the workers and me, and everyone on the job was eager to please. Dave made every effort to assure that the finished project was worthy of our praise, even adding a few things not originally negotiated in the contract. While the project was not considered a large project, it had alot of intricate details that took extra time to work around. My wife and I cannot express enough our level of satisfaction with Dave and his guys. They did what they said they would do, and most likely more that we didn't even know about. Great job, great contractor, and great value for the money. The project was worth every penny spent. I see now why much of Dave's business is return customers. We would/will certainly use him again if the need arises. Not to lengthen this review longer I would only like to add, that Dave is human, he is not a robot and his speech is not rehearsed. We learned alot about his family, his dogs, etc. and we felt he was true to form, just a good guy to work with. Highly recommend. It took two days to replace (plus production time), and they did a wonderful job on as it as far as I can tell - the new windows look great! It's rare to see a 5 star business receive a low rating review like this, but unfortunately I had an incredibly disappointing experience, which I feel compelled to share with other homeowners to prevent anyone else from falling victim to their unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability. One of our large casement windows was factory damaged and no one noticed till it started to fog up over the past year. I requested a replacement as it was well within the 20 year warranty period. They asked for picture proof and I provided. I had to keep following up for 2 months because they couldn't provide a timeline for installation. When we finally aligned on a date they notified me within 1 hour of the appointment that they can't come because they had a situation. It's okay, things come up but you're suppose to provide a solution with next steps and not keep your clients waiting for an answer. What's truly disappointing is how Ken handled the situation. No one came to supervise the installation so that is a mistake on their part. Instead of acknowledging their workers' errors, they pointed fingers at me, accusing me of tampering with the frame & caulk. Mind you, none of my windows have caulk between the glass and frame. I'm so confused where that came from. I had photographic proof of the window's condition before and after installation, as well as security camera footage of their technicians using boxcutter and hammer to remove the frame (which I assume is what caused the damage). As a homeowner who had placed trust in American Windows Plus expertise, I was shocked by their lack of integrity and commitment to quality workmanship. A company that truly values its customers would have promptly addressed the issue, taken accountability for their errors, and worked towards a solution. Instead, they chose to evade responsibility and, quite frankly, tarnished their own reputation. Now, I have to live with the unsightly scars of their negligence - visible scratches and awkward caulk on the exterior window frame. Despite providing all the evidence necessary to prove their mistakes, Ken continued to deny their wrongdoing and refused to provide any solution or replacement. I share my experience here not only to vent my frustration but also to warn potential customers about the unethical practices of American Windows Plus. I believe it's essential for homeowners to make informed decisions when choosing service providers for their homes. It's clear that they prioritize their own interests over customer satisfaction and quality service.
