The go-to donut spot! Love this place, fresh and delicious donuts serving the community for years! Small drive through or walk-up, quick service. The donuts always taste amazing, big fan of the classic glaze. read more

Kindle's Donuts - Donuts Near Me - Los Angeles, California

They sell you old donuts at night. I ordered a buttermilk donut around 10:30 last night and it was hard as as a biscuit from Churches. Keep an eye on where they pull the donuts from. read more

No no there's no way there's no review here. I definitely went here. Kindle's compares to Randy's in more ways than one. For one. All donuts are the same unless they're awful. Every donut shop recipe comes from a Cambodian guy who used to work for Winchells. Fact. If it doesn't your donut sucks. That is donut American history, look it up. Second. All donuts should be cheap. If your donut is more than 1.50 max you're being ripped off. Third. Gotta get all the types right. Yeast raised, cake, buttermilk, all the stuff on top. So on all those points. Plus the obligatory roof donut. Kindle's is the east-Westside version of Randy's. It's good. read more

Donuts are really good, but seemed to just have your standard types. Sometimes, that is all you want. The donut on top is fun to look at. Service has always always nice. read more

The staff was friendly and funny, and the donuts were delicious. They have chocolate donut holes here. I love this place when I'm in the area. read more

This is one of my favorite doughnuts shops to date. The crumb glaze doughnuts are incredible! The customer service is generally very good as well. I've been given free doughnuts, which is a huge perk! I wish I knew when the batches were freshly fried so I know when to come. The only downside would be the homeless folks that post up by the window. read more

great doughnuts, awesome service, the best to me are their apple fritters, glazed doughnut, cinnamon roll, and the bear claw.it was a must i visit this iconic doughnut shop becau of 2pac's music video "to live and die in la" and the movie "mars attacks".showing love all the way from durham n.c. read more

My GOOOOODNESSSS TALK ABOUT CHILD HOOD MEMORIES ! Best donuts, always fresh and great service. Been going to them for years... the sprinkle and the crumb cake are legit .....They even take apple pay now!! read more

Kindles is my favorite donut shop! I grew up eating these and no longer live close but when I'm near by I always have to stop! I even got my friends into them so they always ask to stop when they're with me Their donuts are always warm and fresh and I love the soft texture! I always get the glazed donut holes and I always have to get a couple bags because I know they'll be gone before I get on the freeway! Love that the prices have remained reasonable read more

Buttermilk and old fashion donuts are the best in all of LA, been going here forever and it's stays amazing

Great donuts at a cheap price. I've been coming here for several decades and the donuts and service have been consistently good.

My Wife takes me here from time to time and this is definitely one of my favorite donut shops. Donuts always seem fresh and I love the cappuccinos! They're cash only so be ready. read more

Hadn't been here in years. But was feeling nostalgic as Kindle's was a part of my childhood. Although ownership changed hands many years ago nothing about the building changed! I mean NOTHING. I ordered a apple finder- which was really good when I warmed it up later that night and killed it..lol I also ordered 2 old fashioned glaze - they were hard and taste old. Which was disappointing as they were on a rack giving the illusion of being fresh I can't say I'll be returning. read more

Review #478 None Elite Squad I was like wow..Randy's Ronuts..Yeah..I always remember seeing a giant Homer Simpson get this Big Donut and eating it ...wait..its not Randy's Donuts? I guess its Dale's..wait no? Its Kindles! And these Donuts are Good.. they dont have that old oil taste.. they're soft..done right .. the location isnt the greatest ..service isnt the greatest ..but if your a Donut lover or atleast a occasional donut person you have to try them here. It's a 3.75 star place so they'll get a 4 star today from me read more

Only drive thru. 3 cars in the drive thru and it took 15 minutes to get to the window, not very efficient. The whole time waiting in my car I was harassed by a homeless man, of which there isn't any shortage of in this area. Finally got the donuts and they were pretty good. The holes definitely were light and had that melt in your mouth sensation. The maple bar was bland and not impressive. The apple fritter was pretty good. Overall 4 star donuts but minus 1 star for the horrible spot and bad experience. read more

TEXAS GLAZED, FTW!!! Service was quick and efficient. Nice that all the "normal" donuts in the drive-up window are visible. ...then your eyes scan to the lower right and you spot: The awesome giant donut! It was like a dream come true :) only $1.30 each!!! As delicious as it was; I had tried to finish it on a stomach full of Fatburger chicken wings and Oreo milkshake...big mistake, muh bad. LUCKILY I bought 5 so I can try again in the morning! ;) read more

Kindle's Donuts - TEXAS GLAZED!!! :) Yes, I bought 5. Only 3 could fit in this box.lol. - Donuts Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Never been here but will never come until that doughnut is clean on the roof....it literally has green moss around it and is really dirty which shows that the owner doesn't care about cleanliness read more

I came here when it wasn't too busy; there was only was person at the drive thru. I parked on the street and walked up, but in retrospect, I could've parked at the taco bell parking lot. It's a cash only place. I ordered a jelly donut. It was good, and the man there threw in a few extra donut holes, which was nice of him. read more

I wanted to give this. Place 5 stars because they do have great donuts but I have to give just 3 stars because I have. Been going to this places for years and. The lady that works the drive thru window customer service is horrible. One time I just drove off and told her to keep them another time it was a lot of bees swarming the drive-thru and I have to roll up my window because I am allergic to bees I put my order in and I'm like wait a minute wait till the bees move and she's like you want them or not like they're just bees and I'm like lady I'm allergic to bees and then she's like well you don't have to just get out the car and come to the window like what part of I'm allergic to bees don't you understand another time I pulled up I said Hi how are you she said yeah yeah what you want so I went today 01/29/2024 and the same lady and she gave me the same terrible attitude and horrible customer service. I will not be returning read more

I like the Donuts at this place however the owner charged me $1.10 more than the price on the board. 2 apple fritters, 4 Donuts and a half a dozen Donuts holes does not= $12.50. It should've been $11.40. If you go to Kindle's Donuts, ALWAYS, ALWAYS GET A RECEIPT AND CALCULATE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE WINDOW. I didn't check until I got to my destination, trusting this lady was a mistake! read more

Best Donuts Around!!! Far better than Randy's Donuts, I don't understand why Randy's is such a tourist attraction....

I love their donuts and I'm not really into donuts that much. The key is that they are always fresh. I normally only get the glaze twist or if I'm feeling adventurous, an apple fritter. Lol. I pass up Winchell's to come to this donut shop...the donuts here are 10 times better. The area can be shady and sometimes there are people begging for change. Thank goodness the last few times I went I did not encounter the issue of being asked for change. Stop by & give them a try! read more

This place is absolutely disgusting this is what I found inside my donut. Very last time I'll be getting a donut from this place!!! read more

Ok so I'm in the car driving home from LA: just in my own zone, bangin Weezy's new song in the whip and seriously getting my car-groove on. I come to a red light on Century and Normandie, look over to my left and the car next to me (5 deep) is just looking at me like "Wowwww she thinks she's in the club, but she's in the car" (awkward moment, LOL) and suddenly that red light felt like it was taking wayyyy too long. So I made a quick right and what do ya know....right into the Kindles -aka the giant donut - parking lot. Ahhh, memories, this place has been around ever since 1953 and always awakens the little kid in me when I see it. (It's a huge giant glazed donut, for God's sake!) Well I guess I might as well get one since I'm here...and anyway it's convenient, it's a drive thru! (That's my sorry excuse for eating junk food and I'm sticking to it :) ) I pulled in past the donut and waited in the 3-car-long line for a little bit too long, ordered a chocolate devils food with sprinkles (the guy kept asking "Only one??!" yes...jeeze lol) and made my way home. They get points for the donut tasting really fresh still at 12:30am, they must bake new ones all day. Add extra hood-points for smelling nice little whiffs of weed-smoke while I was waiting in the drive thru. The car in front of me needs to stop playing and pass that. Kindles, "the big donut" (one of 5 still standing). One of the hood's defining landmarks. And they make a pretty decent donut, too. Oh yeah, and I'm grown...I can dance in my car whenever I want to :) read more

Best Damn Chocolate Donut Holes in the world! You'll find yourself feeling like that guy in the Milk Commercial trying to answer the "Who shot Alexander Hamilton?" question. Please believe that Kindles is worth a visit, even though its deep in the hood on a very hood corner next to some very hood people hanging out by the hood Gas4less gas station. read more

One of the great landmarks of the hood. Always fresh out of the oven with a taste so addictive. Shits on Winchell's Donuts anyday but a great alternative to those that don't wanna drive far and wide to Krispy Kreme. Best known for the Texas Glaze, a larger than life glaze donut that will satisfy your craving for something sweet at only $1.30! Whenever you make that one stroll down Century Blvd., stop on by and try these puppies! Your taste buds and your sweet tooth won't regret it. read more

Panda logic = find and eat the largest doughnut in the city that you can get your paws on. One of my friends who lives in Southern California mentioned Kindle's "Texas Donut" ($1.30). Awesome quality on Kindle's doughnuts. Light and fluffy, with a nice glazed shell. Probably should eat at least a half-dozen of the Texas doughnuts next time. Seriously a doughnut that I'd eat again and again. You can also order here like you're going to the drive-thru. Figure that shouldn't be a problem if you're concerned with getting out of your car in this area. Panda logic also meant I didn't follow such advice and walked up to the window with cash in hand anyway. For those that don't know, this place is cash only. I still think the Tex-Ass Doughnut at Voodoo Doughnut (Portland, Oregon) is larger. But Voodoo's is also about three times more expensive, so as far as the large doughnut battle is concerned, Kindle's wins the internet. Vid of me eating the Texas Donut: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jBQXuru17U For the price and the quality of the doughnut I received, I'm a solid fan of Kindle's Donuts. Check them out! read more

Come on I know I was not the only little kid who thought the giant donut was real. I also thought the giat bucket at KFC had chicken in it.....I was a kid with a very active imagination. Kindles brings back memories of stopping here some mornings on the way to the Wash House....days of sukuki jeeps, basket weaves and NWA. read more

Just picked up a few sweets before heading back to Vegas. Overall, I like the donuts a lot but they're not over the top amazing as some reviews might suggest. So here's my honest evaluation: PROS: Less than 5 min from the freeway on century. The buttermilk donut is a win all by itself. It is absolutely delicious, wish I had got more than one. Donut holes are good, nothing to shout about. There is somewhat of a parking lot in the back. The donuts are definitely fresh and the price is cheap. Plenty to choose from, lots of varieties. They have a drive-thru. But if you don't know the menu, be brave, get out of your car and spend 2 min max deciding on flavors. CONS: It's in a shady part of town, I don't recommend being unaccompanied at night. I from DC so I'm use to this kind of neighborhood and it doesn't bother me even slightly, but FYI to those suburban travelers. You will get begged for money by local squatters. Pay it no mind, unless your feeling extra generous to donate to the local alcohol and drug problem. They only take cash. This alone,I had to take one star off. It's a major inconvenience. I don't know anyone who still carries cash, small bills at that. Most donuts are only like .75 cents so yeah. Major drawback. Glazed donuts should always be the best and these are average at best. They were thick and fluffy but not enough glaze, almost felt as though I was eating just bread. All in all, something to try if you're in the area but not a special trip kind of thing. read more

Best damn donuts in Los Angeles. Period. Nothing else to say!!! Other than I think they put crack in those donuts, because they are addictive! Favorites - Twists and the Regular Glazed!! I get a half dozen everytime I see my folks! read more

To dirty, day old or old donuts and the nose picking,no gloves/mask.Too much for me.I'm out!

What happened?! These donuts used to be so good. Years ago when we were kids we used to walk to Kindles and treat ourselves to donuts. This is the second time in a couple of weeks that the donut I had tasted dry and stale. It seemed to be a day or two old and was starting to get hard. Donuts were really not good. This was so disappointing. read more

The best "hood donut" shop there is HANDS DOWN. Been going here for over 30 years and they have NEVER dissapointed me. ALWAYS FRESH. and Lord if you catch them warm...HEAVEN. I usually get glaze or chocolate glaze. My "children" all grown now, like the donut holes. Usually do the drive thru. YOU CAN KEEP KRISPY CREAM, and Randys, KINDLES is my spot. read more

This review is long overdue. Here are my loves for the place. The donuts are bomb, my all time favorite is the buttermilk donuts. This is pretty much all I order, well I've had the glazed donuts and those are just as great. A dozen is about $7, which isn't much especially if the donuts are perfectly soft, moist and semi sweet. I always try to take advantage of getting a dozen when Im in the area and to be honest they're kinda worth messing up my diet for. my complaints about the place are the people who stand right outside and sometimes in your face when asking for money. Also, going in and out to get into the drive thru is sometimes a mission if you enter the wrong direction. Other than that, this is one of the gems in la for donuts. Everybody needs to come out and try it. Plus the people at the window selling the donuts are usually really nice. read more

Straight fire donuts!!! Randy's is trash but I've been going here for years and they always produce great donuts.
