As soon as we walked in and told them the issue, they immediately put us in a room, ran calculations of our dog's weight versus the amount of chocolate digested. Needless to say, they had to induce vomiting. Dr. Berger explained everything from the beginning and her staff told us the costs upfront. From the beginning, during our dog's "purging," and then the after care, the staff was wonderful making sure we and our dog were doing okay. The wife and I were extremely impress with the staff and care that we received. We are also happy that this high level of vet care is available in our area. Keep up the great work Mayfair!

The vet saw me immediately and confirmed my gut feeling was right but was very honest and open that they felt there was a strong possibility he was blocked and would need surgery and suggested I go to UC Davis or SPEC immediately. They did not charge me as they knew that I would be spending a fortune at emergency and because they had only gave him a quick look over. I am grateful for their advice because the cat was indeed blocked and we caught it in time before it did kidney damage or required surgery. My grandkitty ended up needing an overnight at UCD and is now healthy again. I wish this place was open more days of the week because it is a much more affordable option than going straight to emergency but with most vets around here having 2+ week waits for non emergency appointments.

This is something no one ever wants to do, but if we bring furbabies into our hearts and homes, we'll likely have to do it at some point. The last thing I wanted to do was to traumatize my terminally ill kitty with a car ride to a cold, sterile vet's office (no offense to any vets) like I've had to in the past. After doing research, Dr. Noe was reasonably priced (although that's not necessarily super important in these situations), quick to respond, professional, and compassionate. She clearly explained what would be happening and allowed us to set the pace. Nothing happened until we were ready - including our final goodbye. Even better, when it was finally time to leave, Frankie was placed into a basket and tucked in with a blanket he would've loved. His passing was peaceful, respectful and surrounded by love. **The photo I'm attaching is him before they left. He looks like he's taking a quiet nap and I'm so happy to remember him this way.**

She was very professional and was able to come to the house an hour earlier which was a huge relief, as our girl was suffering. I can't imagine having anyone else and felt like she was an angel. I was feeling like I must be one of those one star folks who had said something wrong in her application, and they were black listing me already. I was pretty deflated. Imagine my delight when I got an email to make an appointment on Friday, and got to head up and meet said dream-pup that same day. We hit it off, so we went to pick up the boss (our other dog), and see what she thought of him. She wasn't impressed, and he was intimidated, but she warmed up to him (defined as "ignored") more quickly than some other dogs she's met. We hung out in the yard for a bit to see how things would unfold, and it went better than we had anticipated. We decided to give it a whirl and bring him home, and are so glad we did. The dogs are totally getting along (after drawing some boundaries at home of course), and starting to play and sleep all cuddled up together. SUCCESS!! Cheryl and Abby were super nice, knowledgeable and helpful. This is a beautiful temporary home for these rescued pups, and the folks working there clearly care so much about them. A million thank yous for helping us add a new little lovebug to the family. Edgar (now Poe) has his forever home!

My dog Cherly was a homeless hound from Oklahoma who lived at the Big Dog Rescue for a year and a half of her life. Cheryl saved my girl and gave her a chance even though no one wanted her as she was one of their long term residents. This peaceful palace is a fully fenced sanctuary. Cheryl (the owner) and staff has put so much love and care into her passions. They dogs she's rehabilitated, the care they receive, they support they get. You have to be one lucky pup to be at the Big Dog. My dog loves coming back to the Big Dog for visits. She's super excited and happy. Cheryl wants to make sure her dogs are going to the home that is the perfect match. She will carefully screen as every rescue should do. I've read some of the 1 star reviews on here. And Cheryl is right, dogs are not ment to spend hours outside. What if it's hot? She is correct and has every right to be concerned where her dogs are placed. If you are not a good fit of she is not comfortable with your household, then I'm sure there is another match out there waiting for you to save them.

We like that the staff understands Jack and are careful not to overwhelm him with too many other dogs all at once. They are taking a careful and tailored approach for Jack, which is exactly what we were hoping for when we started with the daycare program. I met the owner, Wendy, the other day when I picked Jack up from daycare. She was checking in on the dogs and staff. She is kind, caring, and seems to be very knowledgeable about all kinds of dog breeds and behaviors. The office staff also deserves positive feedback, they kindly changed my daycare appointment today at no extra cost when I couldn't make the appointment. It's also the reason for writing this positive review today. Overall, Olivet Kennel is a professional run facility with an online booking system that still feels like a family business that you can trust. The kennel is clean and inviting. So far, we are very happy with their service!

It seems unprofessional to let sick dogs stay there but I guess they just care about money. Also I had prepaid for a daycare package. When I tried to use it they told me that it had expired during the time my dog was sick. I told Stephanie there's no way I could use the prepaid package while my dog was sick. She had not been in contact with any other dogs so I am 100% certain she caught it at Olivet. They never did honor the daycare pass I paid for and told me "sorry but it expired". Seemed odd for them to be so stubborn about a policy after my dog almost died because of them allowing sick dogs to stay there. I paid over $2000 in vet bills because of them and my dog nearly died. You've been warned, proceed with caution.

She was so incredibly understanding and compassionate. She basically held my hand through all the steps I had to go through, that Capone and I had to go through together. She stood by our side for a year. She guided me, emotionally and spiritually. She taught me how to think rationally when making tough decisions, she celebrated our small wins, she talked to me through the darkest of times, all the vet visit, radiation treatments, times filled with tears and guilt. She honored the bond Capone and I have. She helped me stay strong. she taught me to write down what I was feeling, she showed me techniques to get through moments when I would be alone. she constantly checked in and made sure I kept in touch. She held space and even cried with me. And after everything was all said and done, she was still right there, spiritually and emotionally by Capone and my side. She has so much experience with animals both in the veterinary field and as a fur mama herself. I could not have asked for anyone better to be by my side, to share Capone and my journey with. I am forever grateful, and truly honored to have met her. She has a very special gift and an even more beautiful heart. I couldn't recommend her enough. This is exactly what she was born to do. To Cara, Today, 4.16.24, marks the one year anniversary since Capone transitioned. Thank you for your beautiful heart and thank you for being the incredible friend you are! Couldn't have done it without you! Sending all the love and hugs your way! LOVE YOU
