Maybe the lights were a little harshly bright, but otherwise a fine place to dine. We didn't get too many things, as we stopped in more for a finisher for the evening than full meal (we'd come from a party with small foods). We ordered a shoyu ramen and a dragon roll. Interesting note on the dragon roll, it has a sweet potato interior. This led to a distinct flavor from other rolls I've had in the past, and a smooshier texture, but a good roll nonetheless. The ramen was mostly a delight. Sumptuous broth, the egg was not too hard nor soft, and almost all the ingredients were perfect. Which I usually avoid that word because it's too subjective, but it seems to fit here. Major exception is the chashu pork. It was overcooked to the extreme. No other word for it, these dried out circles of meat were thick and chewy, and soaking them in the broth couldn't save them. Sad. Otherwise, some of the best ramen I've had since leaving Japan. The only other note I'd have is I just wanted some tea, and had to order a weird tea concoction to get it. Sometimes you'd just like an oolong tea, nothing fancy. I recommend this restaurant, overall, and hope you enjoy it too.

The shrimp are perfectly seasoned and delicious. The fried rice, fantastic. The vegetables are one of my favorites. Our chef was attentive, professional, funny, and adept at doing everything that is hibachi. I love the fact that I have discovered this so close to home. No longer a reason to drive all the way to Thompson.

For my main course I had the hibachi salmon and filet mignon, salad with the ginger sauce, and broth soup.

Had to get the sushi "yacht" for two. But the nigiri was kind of weird. The rice tasted warm. Not like, perfect temperature from the hands of the itamae, but weird tepid lukewarm sitting around rice. The sashimi didn't seem so fresh to me, and sushi grade quality was questionable. The roll also seemed to be at an odd temperature. Overall I was rather disappointed. The best part for me was the sake. But my date (outside of her comfort zone) did seem to like it overall. I don't want to be negative, but this is definitely a "won't visit again" for me.

There was also a family of a Mom & Dad with two young boys. The youngest boy was walking all over the booth seat with his shoes on & climbing all over the table. I asked for a quart of chicken and broccoli and a quart of sesame chicken. So I pick it up and it's $39. I'm alittle confused and get home to find that it's plastic trays, that might be a quart in volume. I'm not sure but I got a couple of pints of rice too so looking at the pint of rice next to the "quart" I can't see that it's correct. Plus half the sesame chicken tray was broccoli, I want the chicken not broccoli. The price seems way high. Now we like the food here and have been dissapointed with every take out order so I wouldn't recommend it but dinning in seems to be larger portions for less money. And the food is the best Chinese food we've found near Auburn so far. No MSG which is nice. I have to say this last order left a bad taste and I doubt we will be going back. Just a bummer.
