Tteokbokki and fish cakes. Devoured the godeng before I took a picture!
    Deb P.

Just like a little "pojangmacha" without seating. Korean street food at it's finest ("gil umshick"). My husband had been bugging me to try the food here. The tteokbokki (which I rarely eat) had that slight crispiness and coated with good gochuchang which wasn't sweet, just spicy and sublime. FINALLY, real gochuchang! The Korean fish cakes were to die for and the godeng was fresh and soft like silk. It reminded me so much of Korea, especially Seoul. All of this for just over $7.00. Gomapsumnidah wa kamsa hamnidah!

Kim's A La Cart is a food stand that sells some Korean bites. I've tried a few things so far -- I use ^ to indicate a half-star and * for a full star. So, ***^ means 3.5 stars: ***^ Grilled pork belly: I had this with teriyaki sauce, it was quite good. It's more of a harder (crispy-ish) texture than a soft texture $3.50 *** Fish cake with soup was ok, but nothing special, the broth was hot & tasty -- this would probably be better to get in cold weather $1.50 ***^ Custard waffle in the shape of a fish, was nice and crispy, not overly sweet: 2 pieces I'd return for pork belly, and I'd also be curious to try other items, e.g., the shrimp & seafood ball, rice cake, etc.

One of my fave spots for Korean snacks! Kim's a la Cart recently moved to 5323 Yonge St beside the H Mart at the corner of Yonge St and Church Ave. They have a variety of Korean snacks with prices ranging from $1.50-$10. My favourite thing to get here is the spicy rice cakes ($1.50). They're so hot and crispy and the sauce is soooo addicting. Wish I could buy the sauce and put it on everything! The spicy sauce is pretty spicy. Wouldn't recommend if you can't handle spiciness. The red bean waffles (3 for $3.50) are very good too. They actually recently started offering custard waffles (2 for $3.50), and they are equally, if not even more delicious! The custard waffles usually have a wait time of 10-15minutes, whereas the red bean waffles are usually available on the spot. The fish cake with soup ($1.50) is probably my third favourite from here. It tastes so soft and fresh, and the soup is hot and delicious. Perfect for cold winter days. Hard to just have one! Everything on their menu is just so good. Perfect for when you want something to snack on for like an appetizer or mid night snack. I love getting snacks from here and then walking around the area for some boba. Service is super quick. Should also note that they accept cash only, unless of course you order through Uber Eats.

Went on Friday evening, and there's a long line. All snacks are fresh made to order, so expect waiting time for it, especially the waffles. Got the red bean and custard waffles, pan fried rice cakes, seafood ball and shrimp. I chose the spicy sauce instead of teriyaki for the skewers and are so so good!! You can pay cash or debit. Korean street food is delicious

Great cheap food! 10/10! No tax charged which is a great plus! The staff were super sweet and inviting. The grilled pork belly and noodle soup was great, filling and flavourful! Will come back again!

Yummy street food and super friendly service. They accept tap debit card payment which is great. I enjoyed the seaweed wrapped with glass noodles and really liked that the fish waffle is not overly sweet! The Korean pancake was also nice (after seeing it on TV so many times I finally satisfied my curiosity).

Stop by if you want a snack and/or something inexpensive! We got the kimmari ($3 no tax) and rice cakes with teriyaki sauce ($1.50 no tax), should've got spicy sauce though!

The sweet pancake was hot but not crispy. It came out fast so it was not fresh. The taste was decent.

I was starting to get really hangry and irritated after walking around the city all day. We started with Korean beer and shots of Jinro Is Back Soyu. It was a good idea. Overall the food was quite good. I recommend everyone to check this restaurant out for themselves. The Korean pancake with seafood and vegetables was huge and much crispier than the one I've tried before. My beef tartare bibimbap was perfect. Just thinking about it makes me want to have it right now. The sizzling hot plate with pork and squid also looked very impressive. It must have been delicious as well, because one of my companions ate the whole thing with no problem. The spicy shredded beef brisket stew/soup 'Yukgaejang' was something which i wouldn't survive, but my man finished everything to the last drop. Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
