After my dentist retired, we had a little global pandemic, and then things got busy and ... in 2026 I brought them a mouth some California dentists wouldn't touch without hundreds of dollars in X-ray and lab fees up front. Then wouldn't touch. ​ In two days of care, they replaced a complex crown, did four quadrants of deep cleaning, and filled an embarrassing number of cavities. I paid about two and a half Gs for what I was quoted elsewhere for between $6K and $10K. This is dental work under local anesthesia, so some pain from numbing is expected. They have a deal with a chain hotel in easy walking distance that has an included breakfast with soft foods and a UV water dispenser on every floor. From my initial contact on WhatsApp, to their offer to Uber me to the office, to patient intake and detailed assessment including head CTs (!), 3D modeling (!!!), photography of teeth and individual tooth x-rays, and the competence of the clinical team... I don't believe this level of dental care is available in Estados Unidos. If I have a friend who needs dental care, I will cheerfully refer them here. They also have oral surgeons, and provided an anesthesiologist for my major work: Extractions, bone marrow transplants, and installing my implants. (general anesthesia was important to me) Their office is the whole top floor of a really nice office building in Tijuana with a big patio and an awesome view. Additionally, they provide concierge services by helping set up travel, local hotels, and transportation to and from the clinic. They have prescriptions delivered directly to the clinic for you too. They can get you a driver to/from the San Diego airport for a nominal fee. Border crossings are made easy with a medical pass that they also arrange. All in all, they make it as easy as possible for you. If you are uneasy about leaving the USA for dental work, I understand. Do your homework. Research your potential providers. Ask lots of questions on credentials, etc. it's worth it. Lastly, I can't recommend Biodental enough. Being able to save $2700 allowed me to pay in full. The front desk coordinator, Anna, was fabulous. Since I live in South Bay, I could park close to the San Ysidro crossing or save $ by taking the Blue Line Trolley. Must have a passport to cross but afterwards, called an Uber which cost about USD 2.00. The Uber app automatically changed once I crossed the border. Anna would always request an Uber until I was familiar enough do it myself. If you have Global Entry, that's a huge plus. You can bypass the long lines and walk right through. Nice office if a bit small. Equipment looks nice and definitely as nice as my SD dentist. Husband has had 2 crowns placed and we did our general cleaning there until we got dental insurance stateside. I will definitely return for any dental needs that my dental insurance does not cover!
