I am so grateful to have found Nikki in my daughters first week of life. I was really struggling to breastfeed which was giving me a ton of anxiety. I worked with the lactation consultants at the hospital but was never able to successfully establish a latch and my baby was losing so much weight that I was getting recommendations from the pediatrician to just formula feed her which caused me all kinds of depression. I reached out to Nikki and she was able to squeeze me in for a next day appointment and successfully get my baby to latch and actually stay latched! Our appointments always flew by, from learning exactly how to latch my baby, how to use breastfeeding pillows accurately, and mostly how to get comfortable enough to nurse without needing any pillows or support. There are not enough words to describe how incredible Nikki is. She has helped my baby and I tremendously by getting us back on the right track after my baby had lost a lot of weight due to not being able to latch properly. He had a tongue tie, which she helped get us the proper treatment. Because of an improper latch and poor guidance from the lactation consultant at the hospital, my nipples were not in good shape with a lot of deep cracks that were too painful and deep to continue feeding my baby. I really can't rave enough about Nikki. When my baby was born, I thought nursing would just happen... that babies know what to do and my body would too. It did not go smoothly for me. My child had difficulty latching so I spent their first month of life solely pumping. I was missing the bonding and biofeedback that transpires through nursing directly. My pediatrician recommended Nikki and within one visit, my child latched. It took me a few visits to replicate, and some ongoing work to get where I wanted to be. Nikki is my savior! I am a first time mom and my sister set me up with Nikki before I gave birth. I thought breastfeeding would be a walk in the park, boy was I more than wrong. My baby boy had to go straight to the NICU and was given a bottle of formula right away and I didn't even get to attempt to latch him until day 2 of life. Due to this, he struggled with wanting to latch because all he knew was the bottle. On top of that he was severely tongue tied. I pretty much only bottles fed for the first 6 weeks. I was told in the hospital that I had such a great supply and that baby was going a great job but I was in so much pain and my baby was crying while feeding. Cannot recommend Nikki enough! She can either come to your house or you can go to her office (which is also very comfortable). She's incredibly knowledgeable, super sweet, and I'm sooo so happy we found her. My son had trouble latching so my midwife referred us to Nikki. It was Nikki who discovered he had a lip and tongue tie and she recommended us to a fantastic dentist who took great care of us. After that we were still using the shield for a bit but with Nikki's help we got better and better and eventually dropped the shield. Yay! I have breastfed 2 babies before and Nikki was referred to me by a friend while I was pregnant with my 3rd. I almost didn't reach out to her (because I figured I knew "enough") but thought, why not give it a shot? I am so thankful that I did!
