Well so much for progress. Nothing has changed since Christina's review nine months ago. Empty salon, cold and impersonal service. Extremely unprofessional. I ran in drenched from a sudden downpour and the male owner said, "Pick a color", and I said, "Towel, please?" and he took his sweet time bringing me one as I drip all over. What kind of hospitality is that? I also witnessed him engrossed in a movie as he gave a little girl a manicure and I am surprised he didn't cut her. The mother was oblivious! The chair massage remote would not stay on for more than five minutes and all I got was, "It is because customers drop it." How is this my problem? Why don't you buy some velcro? A mature woman had started the pedi, but only pretended to cut my cuticle. What is that? The Placebo Pedi effect? The lead girl became indignant when I asked that my pedi be done a certain way...my way. She took the womans place and it got worse. There was NO WAY I was going to ask her to cut out my corners!! I almost lost my temper when she used a course block file on the top of my big toe...I am sure it was for spite, as no professional would do this because it causes the nail to peel. (Edit: My nail is now peeling off two days later.) I took the foils off of my fingertips and decided to forgo the gel mani...I even left with my old polish half off. Kim's has been in business for about 2 years, but I didn't even realize they were there (they're situated near Dairy Queen and a tanning salon). On a whim this weekend, I decided to get a french manicure. I was a walk-in but was taken care of right away. I believe the young man who did my manicure was also the owner (or, at the very least, the manager). The facilities are very nice. Although it's located in a strip shopping center, the decor and equipment is what you'd find in an upscale salon. Everything was very clean and organized. I was offered a beverage right away. My manicure was done quickly and was completely pain-free. My stylist was courteous and friendly. The price for my manicure was pretty standard with what you'd find in all nail salons. I was very pleased, overall, with my experience. I do think it would be helpful if they had a sign listing their services and prices somewhere, because there is a language barrier and for someone who wasn't exactly sure what they wanted, I think it would be helpful. But I will definitely be going back. read more

(I went to Kim Nails with my mother when they first opened two years ago. So, the salon May have improved since then, but this is based off of my own singular experience) Upon entering Kim Nails, I was very impressed. Since they had just opened they had a very nice, clean, upscale facility. The pedicure massage chairs were comfortable and gave me a sense of luxury. Furthermore, the complimentary lemonade was nice! So overall aesthetics were excellent. However, when it came to the services, I've had better. I got a very simple manicure and pedicure (no frills, no fake nails. Just the cleaning, trimming and painting). But I could have done a better job myself. The paint didn't even stay on my nails for a week. And they hardly did anything with my cuticles or massaging my feet/hands/legs/arms, which is what I consider customary... In conclusion very friendly, excellent customer service, good atmosphere and facility but the treatment itself wasn't worth the $50 price tag. read more

Love my nails!! I got the dip and the lady took her time doing a fabulous job! Prices were a bit pricey though I normally pay $35 for the dip and it cost me $48 and some change - that would be my only complaint. They had two big TVs on both sides so it kept you entertained for sure. Very friendly staff I will be back! read more

They don't post prices, they tell you cost only if you ask! Not like any place I've been. Nice people, I wasn't satisfied

Terrible! Don't waste your time, I am new to the quad cities and have walked past Kim nails several time. The salon is always dead, not a single soul in here! I read previous reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. WHY?! $60 later and all I received was an uncomfortable mani and pedi. When I walked in I asked for a mani pedi so I go on and pick my color out then the lady leads me to the pedi station. I sit in my chair the water is kind of cold, but whatever. My biggest complaint is that as I'm getting my pedi another lady walks over and starts on my MANI- wait really? This was so uncomfortable- I came in for relaxation not a pestering session!!!! Another thing that she did that irked me to the extreme was the fact that I had to reach my left hand over to her across my body once again as I'm getting my PEDI! She knew I was uncomfortable as I stated along with a few huffs and puffs. Overall NO STARS and I will not be returning! Especially after paying $28 for a shellac mani that I didn't enjoy! read more

This was the worst pedicure I ever received. The chair did not work. They don't really massage your feet. They cut my nails too short and my feet did not look any better leaving the place. Poor job read more

Horrible pedicures do not I mean do not even waste your time at this establishment. Every place I've gotten pedicures truly dig in and massage your feet and legs, this nail salon barely touches your feet it practically tickled. I repeat do not waste your time or money.
