It felt pretty unfair to pay for music that the bar then essentially muted before it had a chance to play properly. If there's a policy about lowering the music at a certain time, it should either be posted clearly or the jukebox should stop accepting money once that time approaches. Otherwise customers are paying for something they're not actually getting to enjoy. Overall, the atmosphere was disappointing because of that. Transparency and a little consideration for customers who already paid for songs would go a long way.
