My wife and I stopped by a Saturday for a Winery and Distillery Tour and tasting. With in 15 minutes of arriving we had an opportunity to meet one of the owners and I have to say from that point moving forward we were treated like family. We had such an amazing conversation and time touring the winery/distillery and tasting all the amazing wines. On a side note I have been enjoying Bourbon for more years then I can remember and Jimmys Bourbon has to be the best Texas Bourbon I've ever tasted and I will definitely be drinking and enjoying all they have!! read more

Went for a birthday hangout around the afternoon on a Saturday and we had a nice time. There was a bit of confusion and delay with the charcuterie making station and after a long wait when we finally received our order, it was a delicious board. The added individual honey was a great touch to the cheese and fruit on the plate. All paired nicely with the wine. The young woman who did our wine samples and took our order was great but the young man who checked us out seemed annoyed and not friendly at all. We won't let that keep us for coming back again though because overall it was a good experience. read more

This place has such a lovely history and it's origins are humble and inspirational. This family run vineyard is such a beautiful place to hang out, sample local wine and educate yourself on all things vino related. Kiepersol is chock full of people who have an appreciation for life, faith, work ethic and a really good taste for good wine and spirits. I happened to be invited there with a group and got to enjoy the PERFECT experience of learning about the making of wine and most importantly the wine tastes that I prefer and how to make a wine I'm not in love with more palatable for me. C'mon, we've all been to that party where the wine options are limited and you don't wanna be a party pooper. Lol! I've learned you don't have to suffer through that glass if you know what foods and snacks to pair them with. I also enjoyed a lunch of chicken salad on a croissant and it was lovely. The view is potentially amazing. Just not the cold MLK weekend we visited. First you have to get there. Make certain you follow their directions on the website. My wife and I booked a tasting-make a reservation. Many more choices than we expected; Medium full body dry reds, Reserve Reds, Ports, and Spirits. The wife focused on the Cabs and Sangiovese, I tasted the light body red wines; Artize, Syrah, Sangiovese, Mourvedre. The Bourbon Barrel Cab was our favorite. Though the Barrel 33 is quite good! We did 4 wines each and one spirit. The whiskey is amazing. We did our tasting with Emily. She shared an astounding amount of viniculture knowledge with us. So much to learn. She also knows quite a lot about the history of the family and vineyard/distillery. We are now huge fans and will make certain we return hopefully sooner than later! read more

We went for wine tasting, distillery tasting and food. The grounds are beautiful but the quesadillas tasted like they were cooked with gasoline instead of cooking oil. It was toxic. The Sangiovese we tasted had a LOT of cork floating in it. I asked for a fresh one and the guy turned his back, pretending to pour a new one and handed it back to me. When I called him on it, he then put a napkin over an empty taster and "filtered" the court out of it. Since it was clear I wasn't going to get to taste it cork-free I took it. I was supposed to have the Rose Reserve and it was terrible - sour and beyond dry. I took it back and left it on the counter. The guy then brings out the Reserve and tells me I should try that...I tell him that is supposed to be what I have but he holds it up and shows me the color is off. The taste was VERY different. We basically spent $80 to get the wrong wines, which were full of cork and terrible customer service. Not fans read more

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ambiance is amazing with a glass wall that allows one to look out over the vineyard during the indoor tasting. I like that they have some distilled liquor in addition to the wine. Your is currently closed due to covid still but the tasting is just fun and no pressure. The fact that this winery is about 15 minutes from our house on Lake Tyler and we had no clue is almost embarrassing. We spent the week between Christmas and New Year at the lake. Seeking an excuse to get out for a bit, I consulted Yelp, and Yelp led us to Kiepersol. The grounds are beautiful. The Grand Room, in which tastings are conducted, is magnificent. And the wine - well, say hello to their newest wine club member! This is a family owned and operated wine business. The fact that all of their grapes are estate-grown onsite, just outside of Tyler, TX, is most impressive. Dillon, our tasting host, was most knowledgeable about their wines and the family's story. After completing our tasting flight, we shared a charcuterie and enjoyed a glass on the patio overlooking the vineyard. If you have an appreciation for good wine and find yourself in East Texas, I highly recommend you stop in for a tasting. Ask for Dillon. You can thank me later. read more

This place has some good food! My husband brought me here for my birthday. Its was the first time I tried duck meat. I like their wine. It's not my favorite but still good. There is a dress code. This place is a little bougie. There were lights strung throughout the vineyard. It was really pretty to see from the patio at night. They have wine, spirit, & bourbon tasting. So when our middle son Patrick and his family made the move from Pasadena to Tyler TX we were thrilled for them. Better environment to raise kids, great community and a six acre property with a fishing pond. No brainer. We have now enjoyed many great and amazingly affordable meals in Tyler. But when our son announced he had booked us for a wine tasting this afternoon I said "Oh, that will be nice" thinking I should keep my expectations really low. Well boy was I wrong! We have been blessed to enjoy wine tastings all over California and around the world and we left thinking that this was one on the most delightful and well done we have ever enjoyed. Such a dope little vineyard/winery in East Texas. Even on a muggy, rainy day. (Attached to Kiepersol Bed and Breakfast.) We were a day too early for the tour, plus we were on a time crunch for the day, so we didn't get to do as much as we'd like. Darn. But we were free to roam about the vineyard early in the morning without having a guide, so I thought that was awesome. Some places treat adults like kids these days...considering some adults truly do act like children. But nope...everyone was kind and let us roam outside of business hours. Thank you! I have always enjoyed staying here for business and encouraged our best friends to join us. We booked the 3 bedroom house and the reservation was messed up from the beginning with really poor service. We tried to rent out the entire house and we were told we wouldn't need to do that that no one else would rent the 3rd room knowing 2 couples were there and if someone did try to rent it they would call us and give us the option to rent the whole house. We weren't called and they rented the small room. We ended up arriving and cancelled the reservation. The house was dirty- the kitchen and refrigerator were really dirty with dried food crusted in the sink and in the fridge. Our food was terrible- nothing worked out. Can't say enough about this place! I spent the last 10 months planning a college 30th reunion at Kiepersol, remotely, from Colorado. They have been so accommodating. From the countless calls... Crystal was awesome, helping me plan the weekend. Robin was a saint, helping 24 ladies... who do not travel light... get settled into the cottages... and would not accept a tip. The breakfast staff in the restaurant could not have been nicer. We occupied the Stable House, theCottage, and a few rooms in the B&B. So much charm. Very homey and comfortable. We had a happy hour in the Distillery Friday evening. The ladies who work there were amazing. They even helped me decorate! Above and Beyond! Beautiful views of grapevines , westward facing, so you enjoy a gorgeous Texas sunset. Saturday evening, we ate in the private dining room. My only real complaint.. which is so minor-- seating 24?ladies... a u-shaped table does not work. It rarely works. Everyone ends up yelling across the room. That aside... the dining staff should get a gold star! What a challenge they had with our rowdy bunch., and they kept their sense of humor and didn't get flustered. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You truly know what it means to be in the hospitality industry... it's a dying art. read more

Found this treasure on TripAdvisor and am so glad we visited. The lands are gorgeous and the two tasting rooms are welcoming and quaint. I love that wine tastings aren't packaged together with a take home glass like at most other vineyards. You can purchase them one-by-one. The traditional oak barreled merlot and cabernet were my favorites although several others were impressive as well. After the wine tasting, we made our way across the breezeway to the distillery. There, we tried the rum and bourbon. Both were excellent! They had seasonal drinks on the menu. We ordered the Fall Figger. Oh my word...that was one refreshing Symphony of flavors in my mouth. Fig preserves, house made ginger beer, bourbon and I forget what the 4th ingredient was. It was so delicious that we ended up ordering a second. The staff was really helpdul, knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed our visit so much; we will definitely be back. read more

Serously, If it were possible, this would be a NO star review after what we experienced last night!!!!We had guest visiting us here in Bullard from Grapevine Texas (yeah....a little place kinda known for their wines)! We took them to the restaurant first and dined. Great food as always & a sweet heart lityle waitrss! Then we headed over to see the new tasting room. Jerry and I sat at the table while my husband and his wife went to order flights of wine. At the 1st counter, they were told, very rudely, 'no you cannot order flights here. You have to go to station 4 over there'. So, they go to stations four and order 4 flights of wine. When the flights were ready, they had to go back to spot #1 to get their flights. Well we were only give two flights. When Mary questioned it due her ordering 4, they said 'oh we doubled them, so it's like you got four....yall can just share". WTH!!!!??? After our tasting, we decided to order a bottle of wine. They told her she HAD TO ORDER FOOD IN ORDER TO PURCHASE A BOTTLE OF WINE!!! Again, WTF???!!! Tim explained we just dined at your restaurant so we're not hungry. (Ok, so obviously common sense should have come into play at this point & they should have said, 'oh, okay, no worries'. BUT NO COMMON SENSE TO BE FOUND HERE!!!!) So, we order to stupid cheese board saying we could just take it home. We sat there for an hour, drank our wine, was getting up to leave and realized THEY NEVER SERVED US OUR FORCED TO ORDER CHEESE BOARD!!!!!! So, Mary went to the counter and said I'm closing our tab, you never brought the cheese board, so remove it from out bill. She was told, 'nope, can't do it. We'll fix it and bring it to you....just wait 15 minutes!!!" WTF yet again.......LITERALLY NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE!!! Why is it going to be 15 minutes??????? So I LOUDLY SAID I NEED TO SEE A MANAGER. A Texas wine lovers dream! My husband and I were doing an East Texas wine trail venture for our 21 year anniversary and came across this gem. We were impressed with all their available red wines. They also have an on-site distillery: vodka made from grapes, rum and whiskey. We had just planned the visit and do tastings but the wonderful staff convinced us to stay and dine at their great restaurant. We are so glad we did! Their duck cigars were amazing, as well as the rest of our dinner. Unfortunately, we had not planned to stay at their bed and breakfast but will use this as another opportunity to return. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - well of course - they have two Sommeliers, an awesome husband and wife team, on staff! They made us feel extra special with their congratulations and buying us a glass for our celebration. Much appreciated! The restaurant at the Kiepersol Estate Vineyard certainly earns a five star rating. Entering the restaurant, there is a massive, well-stocked bar, built of hardwood and reminiscent of those frequented by Ernest Hemingway. The restaurant seating area is to the side of the bar with a lovely outside view of the gardens and a wall back of the bar with thousands of bottles of Kiepersol processed wine. Dinner reservations were easily made and our well situated table included a handwritten card congratulating us on our 63rd wedding anniversary. The menu is extensive. My wife had baked brie as an appetizer, a house salad, crab cakes and creme Brûlée for dessert. I had fried wraps of shredded duck as an appetizer, the house, salad, and ribeye steak. But I have rarely experienced such rude staff as we did here, especially with Marcia in the tasting room. It got so bad we eventually asked her if she was ok. Felt sorry for someone that obviously unhappy. She basically said she's not a people person, which begs the question of why the heck she's working in a public-facing job. The wine was ok. Not great.
