One thing I love about this place is it's less than 10 minutes from Lake Naconiche. (That lake is a bass fisherman's dream) This place has great cabins and numerous RV spots. There's also a nice pond (mini-lake actually) on the premises where you can fish, kayak, and swim. It's stocked with Largemouth, Crappie, Bluegill and Catfish. It's a strict C&R pond. The cabin we stayed in will house a small family comfortably. The cabins come with fully functioning kitchens (with dishes and cookware) and are kept cool in the summer with multiple air conditioners. Renee (one of the owners) is always available to answer questions or provide you with help to insure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. If you're looking to getaway for the weekend, this is the place to stay. You'll enjoy the comfort and great scenery.

When we visit them, we do not spend much time on the lake because we like to stare at it while sitting in their big swing sipping Prosecco. There are cranes, feral hogs, deer, unique birds and other wildlife in this part of Texas. Should I mention we heard banjos playing in the pines...? The "Ranch" development offers a golf course, restaurant, tennis courts, miniature golf and boating. Lush dogwoods were in bloom when we were there recently, along with beautiful wildflowers and tall pines. I think when I die, heaven will look like Holly Lake Ranch.

I loved all the amenities and games they offer included in your stay, miniature golf, shuffle board tennis, and so much more. We also did horseback riding rented a boat and went to the water part which all were priced reasonably. I thought it was neat that they offered more of an outdoor stay feeling in some cabins surrounded by beautiful trees or more upscale in the beach club or at the harbor. We stayed at the beach club and really enjoyed the pool there. It was easy to get around and navigate as long as you explore in your car when you first get there with the map they provided. I would say my only issue with the entire stay was at check-in. The front desk staff can definitely be more friendly alone with the activities staff. Most of them were young girls that need additional training in customer service, some of them had attitudes. The mask restriction needs to end! People are on vacation and those that are uncomfortable can stay home or wear one on their own account. The order has been lifted it is not the resort's place to force their guests, who are paying to be there to wear a mask when the mandate has been lifted. Kelli the resort manager was excellent and is doing an amazing job! She was welcoming, kind and professional. In addition the pool staff was fantastic, the spa was not heating so I called the desk and Jonh Wade was there in under 15 minutes and fixed it for us. That was impressive considering how large the resort is, not only that is was very friendly and professional and organized.

Staff is kind but I have given this place 3 chances food wise and I do not think I will be back. For portion sizes and quality I would say it's overpriced. Also just down right disappointed in the food each time. Want a grilled cheese? Don't bother. They can't even let the cheese melt to the bread. It looks like two pieces of toast with a slice of cheese in the middle, and if you open the "sandwich" the cheese will fall right off. Supreme nachos? Not bad but I've had better at a hs concession stand. Side of ranch is .75 and comes in the smallest container and it came out either fully frozen or partially frozen on two occasions. Fries have come out cold multiple times. The queso tastes good but for the price the portion sizes suck. I have come in on a slow day, a medium ish day and a busy day, and EACH time the food takes 40+ minutes to come out and they blame it on them being busy. That excuse might work for the busy night, but you cannot you being busy as the excuse for the poor quality of food and timely service on the other two. At this point a food inspector needs to come by and ensure they are storing food properly and cooking the food to its proper temperature/ keeping it in a warming area before someone gets sick for the lack of consistency. If you're okay with food microwaved to be reheated and overpaying then this place is okay, but it could be better.

Everyone loved the Rustic atmosphere. The kitchen is roomy, with a large dining area & family den where everyone could gather and visit. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen bed (the grandmothers took that one), one with four twin beds and a bunk bed, so six family members could comfortably sleep there. There is also a large bathroom with big mirrors & two sinks, so everyone could get ready for our event. Upstairs has a long dormitory style room with six twin beds & a couch. There is also a large closet, bathroom, and washer & dryer. The place was perfect! Our family from Missouri, Illinois, Texas & South Africa was enchanted with the tall pine trees, the friendly cats, dogs, and horses on the property. You just need to bring food if you plan to cook in the cabin, and toiletries, as none are provided. Don't forget salt & pepper like we did, but if you do, there is a convenience store at FM1275 & Loop 224 that has everything!
