We enjoy and are grateful for being a part of the KMA family. When you become part of the family, you ARE family. Our children started their journey wanting to "do karate" and to "be able to do the BEST split EVER" and they have all learned along the way that it's NOT just about "doing karate", karate is a way of life. You learn so much about an art and yourself.
You learn to find your inner self and what you are capable of and what you aren't capable of just means you have to try harder next time and practice more.
Karate instills self pride because YOU are the one doing the work. I am a firm believer that karate has provided my children with life instillers like setting goals and achieving them, commitment, perseverance, self control, finding one's inner strengths and weaknesses and improving or over coming them as well as self defense all while building long term friendships with classmates and their families that we wouldn't have met on any given day. It takes dedication from the student and parents alike (if the child cannot drive their self).
Karate has proven to me that you CAN overcome your fears and anxieties. I have seen it in my children.
My son who struggles daily with anxiety has overcome screaming and yelling off the mat "because it wasn't fair" to asking questions and trying his hardest even if his hardest for the day isn't 100%, he knows next time he can do more. My daughters who struggle with anxiety and perfectionism have overcome that and push and do the best they can to overcome that to become better.
We have personally gone from needing many family counselors to just needing karate because it has changed their mind set within themselves.
If you are interested in a wholesome family karate atmosphere and want to see your kids "come out of their shell" I truly and 100% believe you should give KMA a try! We cannot say enough good things about being a part of the KMA family read more
