They make me comfortable coming in and out and not feeling like a burden. Second they really do have great customer service. They aren't pushing for a sale. They make sure they provide what you need and is ok if you don't like what they suggest. Prices vary but they have a selection of everything which is nice to see.

The first item on our wish list: a hat for our 1-year-old nephew. The clerk quickly showed us to a display of winter hats, and we found a great knit hat for roughly $30 that will hopefully stretch a bit as our nephew grows. And since we have a baby on the way, we couldn't resist looking for something fun for our babe too. Smoochie Baby carries everything from baby and infant clothes and shoes and accessories to books to nursery decor to toys. (I particularly remember that Smoochie Baby carries shoes because in perhaps an example of Brooklyn extraness, the customers who came in after us asked the clerk if they stock any vegan baby shoes.) We ended up going with a soft, plush dragon -- our future son's first stuffed animal. It seems well made and didn't break the bank at about $35. And it makes me smile every time I look at it. Smoochie Baby also offers gift wrapping. Whether you're buying for your own kids or others, this is a great place to stop.

The customer service alone is what had me thinking 'I've gotta write a Yelp review for this place'…read more We live in the neighborhood where there are a few options for baby clothing/accessories/etc. For me, they fall into two categories: Regular shopping and "I guess it was good to check it out once so I know what they have". This place definitely falls into the regular shopping category for me. First off, I want to address the customer service comment I referred to. The woman who helped my wife and I pick out some clothing was super helpful, patient, and did not have a pressured salesy approach. Our stroller's bassinet hood was mostly closed because the baby was sleeping, and she did not even attempt to look into it. She asked, "Boy/Girl? Age?" and then went to pick out the appropriate items that might work for us. So what's the big hoopla about this? Well, we're losing count for the amount of times random people will come up to a mostly closed off bassinet hood and try to peek in, get close to, or even touch the baby. Since the baby is only a few months old we prefer to not have her being touched by strangers due to only having a handful of shots so far. Some people are excited by the prospect of meeting a baby but probably aren't aware parents have different tolerances for who gets near the baby. Anyway, this interaction, while subtle, made me think, "She gets it". After we picked out something we liked, she left us to browse at our convenience. The selection of clothing here is great - variety, sizes, etc. Also lots of books and toys that we'll be back to take a look at once we get through all the other stuff we currently have at home. Highly recommend stopping by to check out!

Awesome store with cute kids stuff and amazing staff. Loves the selection! We'll be back soon!read more

Well, this is the perfect place to put that into practice. It has all of the best brands--Frida and Coterie come to mind--and it's nice to buy locally instead of during late-night scrolling on Amazon. The store is beautiful and has everything you could need. Some of it is pricey, but everything is very well-made and there are certainly items in all price ranges. Most of all, this store is accommodating to babies. The staff helped me get my stroller in; they have two changing pads with diapers and wipes (plus I think a toiler sprayer for cloth diapers?); and they let me nurse in the back room. I will definitely be back!

The shop was so accommodating when he called to tell them of the mistake. We live in DC and were passing through New York in a month and they told us they'd happily exchange it for us when we came through. That's more generous than the actual company site of the coat! When we got there, they let me try it on the new size WITH a carrier and dummy doll to make sure it fit how I wanted it to. It was so nice not having to take my son out of his stroller! The store is clearly made with mothers and children in mind. The shop itself is also just filled with the most wonderful baby and maternity products. A great place for gifts and necessities. They also have a variety of classes available in the back of the store. This is an awesome small community store and we will definitely be back!

I can't believe I'm writing a review for a children's clothing store, much less the first review,…read morebut I had a really positive experience at Tallulah's Closet and wanted to share. I have no kids and am pretty dumb when it comes to shopping for them. But, I was going to visit a relative who just had a baby and wanted to come bearing gifts. I'd gone to a few boutiques in Park Slope, but I was NOT going to pay $34 friggin' dollars for a hipster baby t-shirt, like some of the stores were charging. Ridiculous! I won't even spend this much money on a t-shirt for myself! So, I figured my home neighborhood of Greenpoint would be priced more affordably. Went to one store a block away from where I live. WRONG! Even more expensive! With this review and all you Yelpers as my witnesses, I will never pay $70 for a baby sweater when I become a parent, even if it is made in Europe. As a last ditch effort, I went to Tallulah's Closet, a place i'd walked by a few times on my way to the gym. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted by the cheerful owner and, probably sensing the look of cluelessness on my face, she asked if I needed help. I did. Knowing I was looking for a gift, she helped me find a few new pieces with the tags still attached (since this is a consignment shop, most of the goods are used.) Everything was very helpfully grouped by the child's age and was priced really well. I noticed used Gap Baby sweaters in great condition for $4 etc. They also have books and toys. I ended up buying a brand, spankin' new Osh Kosh onesie and overall set for $15, tags still attached, that my cousin loved. Very cool experience and just another reason that I'm grateful to live in Greenpoint and not Park Slope!
