They were one of about ten places I called and they ended up making the most sense for us. We drove our U-Haul on a Saturday and Sunday, and our son started school here the following morning. And for just over a year, everyone was really happy with the arrangement. Our son loved it, it was close by for us and his teachers really seemed to enjoy him. I don't want to understate any of those aspects: we were all as happy as we could be. The reason we're no longer at FCKA is actually another reason that we are grateful for the staff here. Our son has had some developmental issues and ultimately, they felt he would be better served at a different school that specialized in providing the type of attention he needs. This was a pretty self-less thing to say because it ultimately costs the school money to lose a student, plus a student that was loved by so many teachers, despite his difficulties. The only issue we really had with this entire situation is that it was a bit abrupt. We know our son is a handful. And often times, I would vent to the staff at pick-up or drop-off about how crazy he was the day before. But the reaction was always the same: laughter and something along the lines of "oh, that's the same guy we see here haha." So our impression was that they did not have any serious problems with him. This was the feedback from every person my wife and I ever dealt with. But then one day, we were told that it was actually a very serious issue, which we were taken aback by. I think what really sparked this is that they never re-opened the doors to allow parents to drop off or pick up kids from the room. We always had to wait outside, which generally led to less face-time with the teacher. Occasionally you would get a moment at the front door, but there was almost always a line of cars waiting, so those moments were always rushed. I understand it was probably logistically easier this way, but it was probably the one thing I would have changed about FCKA. We truly really enjoyed everything else about sending our son here and will always think of them fondly when we drive by.

She was rude and disrespectful and the teachers there agreed because they dropped like flies after she was hired. All of my daughters previous teachers quit within months of her arrival. during COVID she made up a new rule that you had to wear masks OUTSIDE to hand off your kids to the teacher and continue to wear them in your car at pick up. No. When I argued with her about the science of that not making sense she told me I "MUST COMPLY" Flash forward to a month later and we get sent a message online that summer school is full and no more children will be accepted. We never received any info on summer school. I reached out and asked why I needed to enroll my three year old child into a daycare for summer that she's been going to for years and she told me "because you do and we are full so you will need to get all her things by the end of the week to make room for other students" To tell you how absurd that is is an understatement. So we rush around trying to find a day care that will take my child within a week Since we both work. Now months later they have been trying to enroll us into auto pay and even called us several times to see if we are coming back for the fall. When I spoke to the assistant director just now and told her what happened she said "we will take note of that." This school used to be THE place to go back in the day but now it's all about power hungry nobodies thinking they can shove their weight around. Good luck getting kids to come back with no teachers.

Our daughter has attended St. James Pre-School for the last several years and we have loved it…read more The teachers are amazing, have been there for a long time, and do a great job caring about and teaching the kiddos. The student to teacher ratio is quite low for the area, the extra activities and programs they put on are so fun for the kids, and we love that they offer extended day programs for working parents. Both the teachers, staff, and other families that attend the school have been very stable and consistent through the years. We will be sad when our daughter "graduates" from St. James because it has been a great place for her to start her education!

Because the only regret we had is not sending our son here sooner…read more --- --- --- We first moved to the area in 2021 and had been sending our son to a Kiddie Academy in Tampa prior to our move. So it was only natural for us to consider sending our son here, but this was a much newer/nicer facility than our old KA, so we ended up opting to send him to a different, cheaper daycare. Unfortunately, this ended up being a classic "you get what you pay for" situation, and we ended up sending him to several different facilities over the next few years. Once he started first grade, we ended up sending him here for after school daycare and he really enjoyed it. It was a significant upgrade from the YMCA-led aftercare that took place in his school's gym. Significant is not strong enough a word: night and day would be a better way to describe it. Things were so structured and calm at KA, compared to the YMCA where it kind of seemed like a free-for-all. And then over the course of the summer between first and second grade, he came here full time and he absolutely loved it. There was not a single day that he complained about going to summer school. He actually complained about NOT being able to go when we were on vacation, which is something I would have never imagined happening in 1,000 years. On his last day, he was close to tears because he was going to miss everyone so much. He loved the teachers, the kids and all of the fun that they had here. There were 1-2 field trips during summer school and they were the highlight of his week. Again, our only wish is that we would have just sent him here from day 1 and not messed around with the other options. The teachers and administrators are all great - we'll miss them too!

When my financial situation changed, I got a nanny for a little while which abruptly ended. Due to not enough room at the time for my twins, I was forced to go to other daycares within the area. I NEVER enrolled my kids in the other daycares for unsatisfactory reasons. I emailed the owner at 3am with my concerns of what I was going through and at the earliest availability I truly needed help. Luckily, someone moved from the area and a spot became available!!! I learned that you get what you pay for and with this daycare you get a happy, healthy, satisfied child along with a peace of mind! This daycare is awesome and I recommend this daycare over any daycare!

Within the first two weeks, my daughter reported being pushed, having her hair pulled, being dragged by the arm, having her finger bent backward, and being punched in the stomach by older boys. These incidents were serious enough that I spoke directly with her teacher multiple times. The teacher acknowledged the incidents and explained that he had redirected the boys involved. What was especially frustrating was the lack of communication. I never received an incident report, phone call, or written notification regarding any of these incidents. In fact, after my daughter came home covered in ant bites on her very first day, I specifically requested incident reports moving forward. Despite that request, I never received a single incident report. After raising concerns, I was later told by administration that I should have gone directly to them. However, I had already spoken with the teacher multiple times about what was happening and the teacher failed to communicate with admin appropriately. I was also surprised to receive an email stating, "At this time, Astrid has not brought these concerns directly to her teacher..." when the teacher had witnessed the behavior himself, intervened by redirecting the boys, and had discussed the incidents with me. The emotional impact on my daughter was heartbreaking. She has attended daycare for most of her life and has always loved going. After starting here, she was crying on Sunday afternoon because she knew she had to return on Monday. She cried before drop-off which should have been a red flag. That is not normal behavior for her and was a major warning sign. Rather than addressing the behavior of the older boys who repeatedly hurt her, my daughter was moved into the Robins classroom with children ages 3-5. My daughter is almost 7 years old. While I understand the daycare was trying to separate her from the situation, it was difficult watching her be removed from her age group instead of seeing stronger intervention with the children causing the problems. The most alarming incident occurred when my daughter was able to leave the building and run into the parking lot after I had already dropped her off and she was in the daycare's custody. A gate on the property had been broken for some time, and she was able to get through it. I observed staff standing there while my child ran into the parking lot crying. I had to retrieve her myself. When discussing the incident afterward, I was told it would be used as a training opportunity for staff. In my opinion, a child being able to leave a childcare facility and enter a parking lot should never happen in the first place. To the daycare's credit, they did later repair the gate and address some of my concerns. However, the combination of repeated physical incidents, lack of communication, lack of incident reports, emotional distress to my child, and the supervision failure that allowed her to enter a parking lot ultimately left me without confidence in the facility's ability to keep my daughter safe. I would not recommend my worst enemy's child to attend here. If I could give negative starts I would.

My co teachers treated me horribly and didn't include me on any of the classroom guidelines(as if there were any). There's no curriculum done and barely any structure. They just need to make sure that licensing standards are up to date. I understand that state and regulations are extremely important, but so are the children and their development. The assistant director at the time (Courtney) was very courteous and kind during the interviewing process, than once i started she barely looked me in the face and didn't even acknowledge my presence; and turned down a reference I gave to her due to my friend "banging on the door" which she had mistaken for an amazon driver. This place is not how a childcare facility should be run at all! All of the marketing that Kaye has put into this is a scam. But at-least they look good for corporate (eye roll) Coming from a person on the inside-don't send your child here.
