YourEvent is an expert wedding planning service that exudes professionalism, calm, warmth, and…read morecare. Paula Smith is nothing short of your personal Mary Poppins - magically taking care of anything that might come up. We all know that weddings are crisis machines - from weather, to vendor personalities, to unexpected health issues, or a sudden change in headcount - things WILL happen. Paula is the person you want by your side to navigate those things. ***Deep Respect & Warmth***: Paula leads with respect, warmth and care in all of her relationships. This is especially important in her deep relationships with a variety of vendors. Because she is such a pleasure to work with, vendors are often willing to help her clients out with small favors - taking on a role they normally might not, setting up a little early, joining a walkthrough call they didn't really have to be on. These are things that you usually cannot pay extra money for - they are professional courtesies that Paula's clients receive because she is so well liked. This respect and warmth of course is a major reason why her clients are so happy and cared for as well. ***A Bespoke Experience***: Paula is curious - about you, about your culture and customs, and about how to meet your every hope for your special day. At the same time, she also manages your (and your parents'!) expectations to ensure you're planning for a day that can be achieved within your budget and your goals. Once the vision is set, she begins going about creating. She is a beautiful creator. She created something SO special for us within our goals - so much so that we got comments like "this was magical, ethereal and the best wedding we have ever been to". People felt that the event was not over-engineered, but just magically flowed from one moment to the next. We knew, this was Paula's doing - to guide the event with a light hand that was imperceptible to most. Wow. Just wow. ***A Swiss-Army Knife Multipurpose Friend***: What you get with Your Event and Paula is an incredibly versatile team. Paula is a wonderful planner, but throughout this process she also served as a therapist, friend, aunt, stylist, decorator, artist, craftsperson, logistics savant - and so much more. ***Calmness***: This was the biggest event of our lives. A lot of money was involved for us. A lot of relationships we treasure, and several that are fragile. This creates anxiety. Out of all the planners we spoke to, we had a sense that Paula would guide us through with calm, joy, and practicality. The fact that she could easily work with both us (the couple) and family members with compassion, and yet a stern hand when it was needed allowed us to delegate even the most tenuous negotiations to her. She was simply a source of calm for us during the process. ***Contingency***: It turned out that we had beautiful weather for our weekend. However, a hurricane hit the mid-east coast during the week prior (AND the week after!) meaning that the weather forecast was changing minute-to-minute for the week leading up to the event. Paula was prepared for anything. You know when the same 3 tennis players win all the tournaments on grass courts, clay courts or turf? Paula is like that - while she only ultimately deploys one particular strategy on the weekend of the wedding, she had to prepare 5 or 6 in advance - which you know she has ready, and so while we would have been disappointed with rain, we know it still would have been beautiful, and we would not have had to do much different ourselves. ***Organization***: We had never planned a wedding before. Paula's team was prepared with timelines, rubrics, and tables that we could fill out in advance. She let us know what was expected of us at the 1 year, 6 month, 3 month, 1 month and 1 week marks. As the day got closer we had less and less to do, so we could focus on things at home and with our family members. It was really helpful so the actual day was as calm as could be. Overall, Paula is a gift to any couple looking to plan an amazing event with the most magical vibes while remaining calm and level-headed throughout. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

She was so professional and organized, and she guided us every step of the way. From the moment we signed her, she helped us navigate the realities of planning during an incredibly busy wedding season. She helped us book all key vendors in just two weeks after our first conversation, which was so crucial since we were just 6 months from the wedding date and everything was getting booked quickly. She handled key vendor communications and got everyone to show up on time and do their part. She nudged us to get a contingency rain tent, which came in handy when it started raining during our ceremony! Most importantly, she kept everyone calm on day of and reminded us to take in the key moments, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Paula's design services were also stunning -- we got lots of compliments about the wedding invitation calligraphy, the signage around the wedding, and place cards. Paula was just such a joy to work with, and I'd highly recommend her for any event.

We scheduled multiple planning sessions, and each time they showed up prepared, thoughtful, and ready to offer expert advice to help bring our vision to life. On the day of the wedding, their setup was flawless--everything from the lighting and draping to the microphones and tech was on point. The ambiance they created was exactly what we hoped for, and we were able to fully trust them to take care of every detail. What really stood out was how they went above and beyond--not just for us, but for everyone involved. They worked seamlessly with all of our vendors and even stepped in to help our DJ with last-minute tech needs without skipping a beat. Their calm, can-do attitude made such a difference and gave us total peace of mind. Troy and his team are true professionals who care deeply about their work, and it shows. We're so grateful for everything they did and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a team that's reliable, talented, and goes the extra mile to make your event unforgettable.

We continued inside and found the bar area. We saw that there was a group at a table. So, we continued inside and sat down. The staff is very nice, but very slow. The menu is very interesting. We ordered the spicy sausage with fig appetizer (This was the star of the show! we got another order!) 2 orders of butternut squash soup and grilled octopus for apps to share. We also requested more bread and were served fresh baked rolls that were so good! We ordered the pistachio crusted pork chop and shrimp risotto for entrees. The 2 people that ordered butternut squash soup were a split decision on it. One loved it the other hated it. I tried it. I thought it tasted really good but i don't think i could eat a whole bowl of it. It was too sweet. The Octopus was excellent! The Spicy sausage with fig was amazing. This is a definite thing to order. The pistachio crusted pork chop was very good. I didn't love the risotto. If i'm ever in the area and have a lot of time to sit and eat, I would definitely come back.

The rooms are each unique and comfortable and the toiletries fantastic! The restaurant is not to be missed either--food is excellent, portions good especially for the price, and the service friendly and accomodating. It's cozy without being too dated or chintzy, a tricky balance for many inns. Every room has a fridge, which may not show up in the room descriptions online. Above all, it's the rare hotel where you really feel like the stay was a great value for your money. My only suggestions would be brighter lighting in the rooms, more varied coffees with breakfast (hard to suggest when Irving Farm is steps away, though!), and maybe extra blankets in each room during the colder months. Above all, it's a great place for people of all ages and needs to stay and enjoy the region!

But I was always there during the weekday around lunchtime or early on a Saturday when there weren't any screenings at the Theatre. The building was actually built as a Grange hall in 1905. Where they showed Movies in the upstairs section. In 1927 wad known as the Millerton theatre There's a very nice lounge with a café and art gallery upstairs It was converted into four screens. Screen one has 154 seats. Screen two has 142 seats screen three has 136 seats and the screening room has 38 seats. When you walk in the front doors, the concession stand is up in front of you. To the left and right our poster cases with current movies on the left side and classic films on the right side The young lady behind the concession stand. Was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a large popcorn and green iced tea. I was coming for a screening of the movie Network . On September 24. That exact date is mentioned in the movie. I went up the very staircase steps to the second floor, where the movie was playing in theater 3. There is an elevator so you don't have to navigate those steep steps going up or down The lounge area was very nice looking, retro. I looked into the little screening room across from the bar down a little hallway. It had a pretty good size screen and comfortable seat seats. I picked a seat in the middle section of the theater. Which has a nice ambience. The screen is a very good size as well. The projection of crisp and clear. Very good sound system as well. I'm a big supporter of these independent historic downtown theaters. The look and feel of this theater was different from other theaters. like the Orpheum theater in Saugerties or Upstate Films/Rhinebeck/Saugerties . I would say it felt more luxurious. The café area had a couch that looks like it came from the 1950s One can buy a membership to support the Theatre. As it's a nonprofit Theatre now. This Theatre is a GEM in the downtown of Millerton. They have special screenings like network. As well as when the director of an independent film will come on a Saturday afternoon to do a question and answer session. Stop at one of the restaurants in town before or after a movie. The Moviehouse will definitely be a destination that I will be going back to several times a year.
