Went here for a birthday party for the toddle - he had such a great time. If not for a birthday party, I wouldn't have discovered this little gem. It's perfect for 18 months - 5, but really a sweet spot for 2-4 year olds. Lots of great spaces for imaginary play and side play - kids still have to be watched but injury is low because everything is their size and most kids play nice. A little pricey but go for the entire day and you will certainly get all your money's worth - they also have a selection of snacks so you really can stay here for the entire day. I had my daughters 3rd birthday here and everything was awesome! My daughter's bday happened to be on Mother's Day and we celebrated on that day too! Working with Rowena was great! She made it easy to plan since I am a bit OC. I plan things to be perfect. Some people who do not understand that, may get frustrated when you want to do things a certain way, but Rowena understood, accommodated my needs and helped me set up the afternoon before the party. You can leave set up to them which is what most usually do and just drop off your decor. You can tell she's passionate about her business. Her staff on that day was very helpful as well! I recently hosted my daughter's 3rd birthday party here and was overall very pleased. I liked that the space allowed room for kids to play freely and the adults could sit centrally and watch. I thought the service was also wonderful- Rowena made herself available to answer questions and guide me in terms of what works well based on her experience. I dropped the decorations off the day before, so the staff set everything up for me and it was all set when I arrived the day of. The staff was very helpful and attentive, made sure things were clean and that I didn't forget anything. Afterwards they helped cleanup. Most importantly the kids had a great time. Today was the first time I took the toddler I nanny to Kids Play Gallery and I'm obsessed! It's great for both kids with a big imagination or kids who need some inspiration. There were several stations/playhouses, including a diner, a spot for "fishing" in a boat and off a pier, a vet's office, a fire station/house on fire/ fire truck, grocery store, boutique, and more! There is also a separate room for parties and to feed your kids snack/lunch without leaving. No time limit either!! No reservation needed, I just called ahead to see how crowded it was. Another plus is that's it's right off the highway in a quiet shopping center. If your kids need you to be more hands-on, the play houses are large enough for adults to stand comfortably. If your kids are more independent, there are benches everywhere to sit back and relax. Covid safety - Ages 2+ have to wear masks. The place is very large with a lot of room to spread out so I never felt covid-unsafe (and I'm the type of person to back out quick when I don't feel good about a place). This was a good place for youngsters to have a creative mind to explore each "building" and enough room for many kids to play around. My girl was quite entertained here and will be back! One gripe I have is they have several little tykes cars that some older kids drive around quite fast. You have to watch out for your little one that they aren't run over or bumped! The cost is $15 per child and free for adults. Glad they have benches in the middle for us adults. It would be nice though if they have some vending machines for some snacks or beverages. It's a tease they have a coffee machine towards the back, that's not plugged in. They have a party room towards the back. Checked out KPG this week, and it was fabulous! Entire facility was sparkling clean, smelled fresh and was downright beautiful. Rowena (owner) was warm and welcoming. It was easy to admire the attention and detail she used when creating this space. Some friends have mentioned the price tag of getting in....however, I think it is necessary in keeping the place from getting overly crowded, and allows families to truly enjoy the space in all of its glory. My two boys (almost 5 yrs & 2 yrs) both were totally engaged for 2.5 hours. I had to drag them both out (& I think they are still holding a grudge). Their favorite stations were the fire station and the beauty salon......yes, the beauty salon! They have a great party space you can use for snacks, so long as there isn't a party reservation. The bathrooms are fully stocked, & sparkling clean. They even have liners for the changing table! We can't wait to go back, and hope to request punch passes (get you a better deal) from Grandma for my oldest sons bday! read more

Today I took my child in for some playtime and I can say that per previous visits I had no complaints, today a few minutes past 3:00 pm I was asked to leave because the had a private event, I was not informed of this at the time of arrival ..... their hours a clearly posted as 3:30pm being closing time. Try telling a toddler with no warning that they now have to leave.... An establishment that caters to children should have some best practices in place and today something that was meant to be a pleasant experience for my child is now tainted by the lack of communication from the establishment. Really cute place. Small enough that I feel like I can let my kid roam without losing him. Lots and lots to do. I'm personally amazed at how clean they keep the place, the carpet, and even the bathrooms. Staff is always cleaning and picking things up and putting them in their correct station. This place was great when we went. It seems clean and tidy. My son and I visited on a Friday evening and there was close to 15 kids there. The majority of the kids were a little oldEr than my son but behaved appropriately. There was more than enough shops for the kids to roam. More than enough toys to play with- although one boy had a cart fuuuuuullll of produce which my son usually loves to play with. They close at 6pm which sEemed a little early, I wish we could have stayEd until 630pm at least. But overall it was a great experience. I really like this place and my kids have been twice. But the second time we went they caught Hand Foot & Mouth disease. I know they caught it from here because they hadn't been anywhere else. I called to let them know what happened and that they should do a thorough deep clean but they didn't seem interested or concerned. I think that's what disturbed me the most is the nonchalant attitude. I hate that this happened cause I really like this place. But it needs to be cleaned more frequently and diligently especially during these covid times. I am happy it wasn't covid. read more

This place is EXCELLENT to let your toddler run wild and play in a safe and fun environment. It's around $10 per child to come in and play for as long as you want. Be sure that everybody has a pair of socks or you will not be allowed to come in. We've been to KPG a few times now and my 2.5 year old LOVES it. She plays independently while we can watch from a seat, or hop in a join her. All of the play sets are big enough for 1-2 adults to join in on the fun, and she loves all of the shopping carts, stores, and pretend play. The structures seem really thoughtfully built and designed to encourage creativity and they keep the play space really tidy. If they aren't otherwise busy, you can see staff constantly cleaning or tidying. My only complaints are that it can get very crowded, very quickly. While it's fun to bring grandparents along to play, each child should really come with 1-2 adults max. Additionally, as this place is becoming more popular we are seeing that they are closed more and more for private parties particularly on the weekend. Limiting parties to 1-2 per weekend might be nice so that other children can still get to play. Or open another location which would also be great! (check their website prior to your visit on the weekend and it will say if they are closed) read more

OMG!! My little one loved playing here. She was hesitant at first and gravitated towards a fire truck that had no one already there. Then, she slowly scoped out the fishing deck and finally settled on the Market but her favorite was the House on fire with the ladder and slide. It was the first coming down a slide all by herself at 22 months. As a parent I loved that the entire gallery was clean and safe for my little one. The Kids Play Gallery houses several imaginary play stations - gas station, ice cream truck, Market, Fire truck, Near by House on Fire, Veterinarian, BeautyShop, Diner and Fishing Pier. They also offer the Little Tykes flint stones like car to play with. I saw children playing and enjoying themselves from toddler to at least 8 years old. There's a party room in the back to give your child snacks. The two restrooms were the cleanest I have seen and the step ladder made it so easy for my little one to step up to wash her hands. I need to invest in one at home. My only complaint is they need more cubbies to hold our shoes and bags. The dads on there iPhones need to supervise their children better. One child bumped her head on the end of the slide and no parent to be found. Two boys were pushing a shopping cart around the carpeted racetrack WAY TOO FAST. Again, their parents did nothing. One of the most unique concepts I've seen in indoor kids play areas. It's set up like a small town, complete with fire station, fishing pier, beauty salon, service station, grocery store and diner. Each building is full of toys and accessories for the kids to use. Plus there is a carpet road for little times cars to ride around on. They've set up benches in the middle so parents can sit and gave a great view of the whole place. Props to the staff for being very attentive at picking up toys that were in the "wrong" building and moving them when the kids were done. The whole place was clean and bright. This is a really lovely new addition to the indoor playplace lineup. It's a calm atmosphere, which our toddler really responds well to -- we've found some of the larger, more chaotic places have intimidated her a bit. Here she has really let loose. It's incredibly clean as well, which we really appreciate! They sell snacks and Melissa and Doug toys up front. The cost isn't terrible, comparatively speaking -- $15 per kid, adults are free, for a full day pass. Cheaper than Badlands or Hyper Kidz. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the woman up front today was not transparent about when they were going to close for a private birthday party. We came in at 11:15 and she said they'd be closed from 12-2. We figured that was fine for a short playtime before lunch. In reality, she started ushering people out at 11:45 (which was, admittedly, the time on a sign on the door of the place, which we didn't notice coming in). She should have been consistent with the sign. We probably wouldn't have come in for just 30 min. So please be transparent about your closing times! Otherwise, we don't have complaints about this place. read more

We've been avoiding pools and playgrounds but did venture out today to Kids Play Gallery. We have a 2 year old and she had a great time playing in all the little houses. The facility was immaculate and the owner thoroughly explained their business practices during Covid. We were customers before the pandemic but today was our first visit since they reopened last month. They take private play dates at no extra charge. I tried a few times to go during the weekend since that's usually when I have time to go to Gaithersburg with my son (20 months old) but were disappointed every time to see that it was closed for a Private event. When I was finally able to make it in during the week I was pleasantly surprised by not only how clean the place was but how creative and friendly it was for my little one, he didn't want to leave by the end and cried. I went the second time with a little friend of his that also loved the place so much that I changed the location of his birthday party to KPG. I was also told by the owner that they are changing their policy so that KPG will be open to the public during parties on the weekend and will only close for private events after 3 (I believe), this will make it available for play on the weekends which I am very happy to hear. My only suggestion would be to have some kind of lock to the swing doors to the lobby to avoid having the kids running to the lobby (which I found my son doing often the last time) since they have a little track at the entrance as well for kids to play with the cars. I only gave it a 4 star because of the closed times several weekends in a row but if that truly changes then I would say that it deserves a 5 stars. ohhh, and I can't stress enough how Super Clean it is. Rowena and her team are a joy to work with and made the entire planning process and day of an absolute breeze. We truly did not need to lift a finger and were so at ease with how smooth the entire event was run. At 7 mos pregnant with baby #2, I can't say how much this meant to me. The Gallery is always exceptionally clean, staff is friendly and the kids never want to leave! Really loved the concept and the space for imaginative play. I've actually recommended this place to many parents. The set up and environment was ideal for children 1-5 years to explore. We've taken our child here many times but have found that recently they accept way too many kids at once. This is a given on the weekend but also expect it right when doors open on a weekday as well. Be prepared to have large sized school buses unload kids accompanied by childcare staff members who are consumed with making those kids pose for photos, while the front desk is accepting even more patrons. There was not enough play objects or space to play and the cleanliness of the facility has diminished as well. My child actually wanted to leave which is sad because this was one of his favorite places that he used to talk about all the time. read more

This is a really nice open space for kids to play with a party room that doubles as a place to eat a snack. My one-year-old loved the trains and the ride-on cars. It is, however, in a very ugly part of town, and $15 a kid. It is too expensive for the location. They only offer a $3 discount for visits after 4 p.m. or a 5-visit card for $60. Most of our playmates find the cost prohibitive, so we'll enjoy it on our own and not as often as we'd like. Hope the owners realize the prices are too high. Maybe offer a monthly or annual pass and family pricing. read more
