This park is a very nice neighborhood park. It is relatively small and has a few parking spots…read morealong the circle. The park is buried deep behind a neighborhood. The park has a picnic shelter with picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. It has two picnic tables. One of the tables is rectangular and the other is a square table with a checkerboard on it. There is also a couple of picnic tables and a grill in a grassy area in the center of the park's circle. You will also find a nice full basketball court at the park and a nice paved trail passes through it. It is a really nice trail and very peaceful. The highlight of the park though, is its playground. The playground has a rubber mud free floor, which is in great shape. There are benches around the playground's perimeter where parents can sit and watch their little ones. The playground's equipment includes a small jungle gym with slides, a large net climbing structure with a slide. There is also a bank of swings with a toddler swing, An ADA compliant swing, and some traditional swings. This is a very nice park. I didn't know if I would make a special trip to visit, but it is still very nice. I ended up here because I had picked up some food from a carryout joint and needed a place to eat it. The park's picnic shelter was the perfect spot. So, if you are in the area, and looking for a park to visit. I recommend checking this place out.

Parks can make or break an outing with kids. I brought my nieces (7 and 4) and nephew (one) to this…read morepark since it looked like it had a good review. There is lots of space to park, very clean, and beautiful to look at. My nieces loved the blue color. There's a jungle gym, slides, swings for big kids and toddlers. The size is on the smaller side so it might get boring after an hour. My rec is 30-60 minutes stay. Also it's in a neighborhood which is a bit inconvenient when driving through. Stop by if you're already in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip again.

Boy am I a dork. Or maybe if I write a review about my favorite playground in Del Ray I won't feel…read morelike such a 36 year-old who writes reviews about playgrounds on Yelp but instead runs around like a crazy monkey, climbing trees, chasing kids, and doing all those dangerous things on the highest parts of the equipment that make other parents shake their heads and wince. It's Del Ray, so you'll see your normal array of older parents on iPhones and smart phones, hoping their kids don't wander off onto Mount Vernon Avenue. It's a big space - two playgrounds actually. The little kids one is wonderfully shaded by a variety of giant trees which are super awesome hiding spaces. There are plenty of good trees to climb. Parking is easy and it's just down the road from the Farmer's Market and across the parking lot from the library. It's not available when school Mount Vernon Elementary is in class, but then again, why would you be at the playground on a school / work day? Ugh!

It is an elementary playground so it's on the smaller side but there is definitely quality here. There are two slides-one is pretty fast and steep which my little daredevil loves (riding on my lap of course). The other is a twisty slide. We enjoy all of the musical components as well as the spin apparatus (see attached photo). There is lots of room to run around (or waddle like my boy). Pre-COVID 19, it was usually very crowded on weekends. Our last visit was a few days before playgrounds closed and we were the only people there. We definitely plan to return once restrictions are lifted.

This park has it all! To start, it's situated in a less than ideal spot, between a road and a train…read moretrack. However, they made it more than an appeal. My kids loved watching trains go by, and it is fully fenced in, so you can relax and kids can get any kind of locomotive show. They also made a bike/running trail along side the park. There is plenty of seating and places for families to relax or do a picnic lunch. The playground itself is also amazing! There is a toddler and big kid side. Every type of play equipment you can imagine. I was especially impressed by the maze on the toddler side. I am also not a parent of a child with disabilities, but I recognized some equipment for disabilities. This park really has it all.

They did a pretty good job constructing this new park, however there are not too many trees. We came here today during Fathers Day, and it seemed like all of the fathers were seated in the park benches while the kids were playing in the fountain. There is also a large playset section wmthat has several slides, plastic ladders, and hoops for kids to play in. Down on the far end, I even noticed an old school swing set with actual chains holding the swings up. There are porta potties, and the entire park is also connected to a large walk and bike path. I believe this path connects to both Patomac Yards and Crystal City. We stayed for a good two hours, and everyone had a lot of fun, even the old folks.

It's one of those hidden gems!…read more Great place to walk / hang out Great place to walk around, play basketball, chalk art the sidewalks, have a picnic. Located below the I-495 -Woodrow Wilson Bridge, the park is right at the southernmost point and great water views of Virginia and sites within Maryland like the National Harbor across the Potomac River. There is a walking trail along the river with informational signs and displays that describe the really cool, informative information markers of sights and the past history of the area along the trail. A 10-minute walk on the trail will bring you to other parks (Ford's Landing, Shipyard, and Roberdeaux) and eventually to Old Town Alexandria with its many shops and restaurants --situated along the water. Another added plus is that the park offers a place for fishing, playgrounds, basketball courts, and multi-use fields. I came here with some friends for the first time and had a relaxing time just being outdoors and enjoying this great space in nature. We grabbed a picnic table....while having lunch and taking in the weather. Between the space and multi-use areas, it is the perfect spot to for walks along the river, running, exercising or simply....raking time to put things on pause and enjoy the outdoors. ELITE TIP: It is a good place to park if you are planning to visit Old Town Alexandria and want an easy place to park.....without having to deal with the limited street parking, risk of parking meter tickets or the high price garage parking. and enjoy a walk along the river.

It's best to go early. Plenty of benches and covered areas for comfort while in the sun. Great place to walk with your dog or go on a date. There were also other places you could park further down the walk if you don't want to start at the end near the bridge. Lovely walk that I would enjoy doing again.
