We even tried a two different places after being here, but the results are the same. He is never happy after leaving. With Cornelia is different he is always happy and want to show off his haircut. I just took both of my kids in to get haircuts before school started (daughter, 5 and son, 2). They've never had their hair cut before in a salon and my son is usually full meltdown when I cut his hair at home. He was not thrilled with the idea of a haircut, but he was so excited to see the cars to sit in and the toys to play with. He unfortunately still had a meltdown but the owner handled it so well. Is it pricey? That depends on how you want to spend your time and money. When my son was a toddler, none of the cheap-o salons could give him a decent haircut in less than 30 minutes....and even that was a struggle. One even nicked his ear with the clippers, so then he was terrified of hair cuts for a time. Then, along came my daughter - complete with naturally curly, super-fine hair that was born tangled. I couldn't find a stylist who would cut it so she didn't look like little orphan Annie. But, then I found Kids Kuts. Cornelia is wonderful and can clip my squirmy son's hair in about 11 minutes flat. He loves going there and looks so handsome when she's done! She does a great job cutting and styling my daughter's hair...and even taught me some tips how to style it myself. So, yes, I may pay $70 for both kids hair cuts (that includes a generous tip), but my time is worth a lot of money - and so are my kids :-) read more

I would give Kids Kuts TEN stars if Yelp would let me. My son (almost three) hates getting his haircut...not a little bit, A LOT, like he is better when he gets shots than he is when he gets a haircut. Usually, by the end of a haircut I feel like I should buy the whole room ice cream, my son, me, the stylist, and every other customer in the place, and we've left places with half a haircut in the past because he was so upset today was SO NOT like that. We walked in and my son (Punk) was immediately excited about the prospect of sitting in the police car chair (shaped much like Sheriff from Pixar's Cars which is what Punk called it). We were a little early so he played with the toys in the waiting room for a few minutes. When it was Punk's turn he asked to sit in "Sheriff", request granted, then she consulted with me about what I wanted (I like the back and sides shorter, but don't like the top to be too short). Punk wasn't excited about the haircut and there were a few tears, but the stylist (owner Cornelia) was patient and calm. She just started cutting (always checking with me about length). Punk never ramped up to the point that he usually does, there were just a few tears and some whiny objections, but no screaming or throwing himself around. When we got towards the end when she needed to use the clippers she took the time to let me calm Punk down and she let him touch the clippers to see that they wouldn't hurt him, she also got him a lollipop (she asked me if he could have one first). The haircut turned out PERFECT and Punk is excited to come back (even with the tears he liked the place enough to want to return). $22 for a child's haircut (plus tip) is a little bit pricey, but, honestly, this haircut and the experience with Cornelia were worth every single penny. I will be returning with Punk and by then it will be time for my second son, Bug, to have his first haircut. I am excited for Cornelia to be the one to do that first haircut! read more

First experience was the best, first "haircut" so the lady saved some hair & I got a certificate! 2nd time the lady was rushed because we did a walk in. I suggest making an appointment. Amazing... I can't say enough wonderful things about the girls who work here... I've taken my son here twice... Once at a year old for his first hair cut and once at 18 months old... Needless to say my son was not a happy camper the first time around and the hair stylist was extremely patient with him and very forgiving to his out bursts... AND his hair cut was AMAZING...! The second time I went here he was way more comfortable with getting a hair cut... He had a different hair stylist this time and she was just as amazing with him... The salon is small but perfect... They have tons of toys for your child to play with before during and after their hair cut... Stickers and lollipops... Even a tv with videos they can watch while they get their hair cut... First haircut for son was great, went back and just asked for a little boys haircut and was not good at all, sides were uneven and back was not blended together at all. I get that littles are wiggly but I have done better in my bathroom and I am not a professional. Will try again with appointment with First Lady that cut his hair. Upon first review owner contacted me and offered to fix haircut and not charge next time we come in. Customer service like this will have us coming in for the long haul. Upon first entering the establishment I was pretty excited and impressed with how it was set up and displayed. There was no one waiting for a haircut or in the chairs which is kind of a red flag for me, but it could have been the fact that it was around lunch time on a weekday. When we went to the back that's where my concerns really started coming up. The chair that my child was sitting it was missing a pedal and was loose. There were nothing from the looks of it to sanitize the equipment after use and was full of hair. The stylist pulled out a brush that was so full of hair that she was barely able to use it. I thought she was going to clean it off but she didn't. Then when she started to use the clippers the looked dirty and haven't been clean for awhile which is another red flag. The stylist did a good job cutting my child's hair even though I could tell she isn't use to my child's hair texture/type. The experience was overall ok, but with a few changes they could be better. The chairs are super cute and she gave us a certificate with a little bag with his curls in it to save. Cornelia did a great job and moved quickly enough that he didn't lose his patience and start to squirm too much. When you call and the answering machine picks up do leave a message she always calls back....quickly. I have a 2 year old boy and have always liked short hair but not just a buzz cut. She is MAGIC she can cut a kids hair who is literally jumping up and down doing kartwheels! I don't know how but she's great. Usually she calls back in about 10 minutes and has always gotten me in that day! The cute firetruck chairs and all the toys just work. This is my permanent place to get my toddler's hair cut. She (owner?) is so fast, and VERY patient with kids who are restless or have sensory issues. My 2.5 year old boy was having an EXTREMELY hard time, especially with the clippers. He was upset which is unavoidable at this age sometimes. She just kept right on going, while he fussed. We had a wonderful experience at Kids Kuts! The gal was able to cut both my squirming twin girl's hair and it was adorable! She gave us a post card with a lock of their "1st hair-cut" for the scrapbooks. The toy cars the kids got to sit in and the bucket of toys she gave them to hold as she whizzed around their seats was amazing! She even tied their hair in a braid and put a cut pink ribbon in their hair! I tried to cut my girls bangs a few months early and they ended up short and crooked. I love that I can bring my girls to Kids Kutz for bang trims! The hairdressers are moms themselves and are so patient with the kids. It was a wonderful experience, geared towards kids, and a lot of fun. We refer all our friends here now too. :) read more

Meh. Both my boys had haircuts here and they turned out all right. They definitely weren't the best haircuts they've ever had, but it got the job done. The salon itself looks a bit run down and could use a few updates. For example, they are still showing VHS movies on small TVs, toys could use a good cleaning, and the waiting area furniture looks well-loved to say the least. I did appreciate the smaller salon chair for infant/young toddler aged children. read more
