My son had his first haircut here 10 years ago and I'm probably going to look for a new place now. They always get my son in and do a great job I just don't understand how they still do t know my or my sons name, no one! It's as if we walked in for the first time! We've been coming for 10 years! I walked in to Kid's Kuts 50 minutes before closing, The lady behind the counter asked if they were taking any more, the woman cutting hair said one more. When I asked to get a haircut for my granddaughter she told me, I could come back the next day. Apparently she didn't realize that I heard the woman say one more. After that I decided that's not a place I want to give my business to. Her dad had his first haircut here in 1989. read more

While Shari, the owner, is a good-hearted person and did a good cut on me, I can't go back... I'm shocked that the CA Public Health Dept. hasn't revoked their license. They are not following legal procedures for salons and there is a list of violations I saw... It was when she took out a hair roller brush to dry my hair and I spotted other hair in it that I began to feel that something was wrong. She had no cleaning solution (usually a blue solution that dirty combs are put into after use) and when she dropped the brush on the floor, she picked it up and continued to use it - all big "no-no's" I later discovered according to the health code. There were other minor things too like the way they didn't put a slip of paper between my neck and the cape or not placing a towel between my neck and the sink where hair is washed. There are reasons why the health code requires these things and I'm sad to say they did not comply with them My advice is don't go until they start following proper procedures...especially if you have a child. Lice is a very common affliction that is easily spread (which I know from working in grade schools) and all it takes is an improperly cleaned comb. I hope they take this seriously and make some changes. read more

Kid's Kuts was only kids hair cut place I could find in the area now that pig tails and crew cuts is sadly closed. They did a decent job, $24 for a 19 month old that only took 10 mins. I don't know if other options, but it's not like it was horrible. The lady was super nice and did her best. We will go back until he's a little older. read more

This is the second time we took out toddler there for a haircut and we will not be going back! I told the stylist a trim and she cut my son's hair way too short. Its a terrible haircut, uneven all over. She took clippers to his hair to be faster but in the back there is a huge section where it went too deep. The first time the stylist used scissors to be accurate but not this time. We now have to go and pay someone else to fix it. To top it off they charged us more than the first time. I had one positive experience bringing my daughter here for haircut recently. However, today I called to get a color service for my daughter's hair. They booked me for a 2pm appointment. At 2pm, we went in. They looked crowded and overwhelmed. The woman at the front greeted me and said they were about ten minutes behind and said to take a seat. Several people kept coming in and it seemed like they had been taking lots of walk ins. It got to be close to 2:30pm and we were still waiting. I spoke to the woman again and although she knew we had been waiting and that I had an appointment, she asked if we could be rescheduled to tomorrow since my daughter's color service would take longer. I went ahead and told her we would reschedule since they looked so busy. What doesn't make sense is that they booked me for an appointment- yet they kept taking walk ins. Everything seemed disorganized and unprofessional.Additionally, the place didn't smell good. I decided to cancel this re-booked appointment and go somewhere else. read more

We took our son for his first haircut here and we were so impressed! It costed $24, which seems a little expensive, but I would pay for it over and over again because they were so great with my son. The hair stylist did such an amazing job working with my squirmy son. She distracted him with little tricks to get him to look down or a certain direction so she could cut his hair. She was fast and did a great job! We will definitely come back! read more

Never again. Not sure why it seemed acceptable to buzz cut my 9 year old daughters hair underneath her shoulder length hair. If I knew how to attach a picture, I would and you would find it appalling. Thank goodness it's underneath her hair... and just in time for her dance recital where her hair had to be worn in a pony tail. The most appalling part, Immediately phoned and was told (on two occasions) there was no way that this happen at their salon... always nice being called a liar after paying $30. My kids will never go here again. Shame on this establishment for not taking accountability for their mistake! read more

Awful experience! Liz is not friendly with kids! She has a very bad attitude! My son had the most horrible experience! I really feel bad for him! This place is not COVID safe! They did a great job on my 8 month olds first haircut. He loved the fire truck and Veronica did a great job distracting him when she needed him to look down. She took her time with my bouncing baby boy and even made sure he wasn't afraid of the clippers before she used them. I do have a great baby to begin with but she made the experience fun for us, as parents as well. We will return when he needs his next cut and definitely before his 1st birthday party. read more

Every time I go to Kids Kuts I say "this is the last time!". From the long waits (chronic understaffing) to the ever-rising prices, there are a lot of better places to get my kids a trim. However, today we were out and I caved anyway and popped my daughter in there for a trip. Not only is the 10-and-under pricing raised to $21, the lady wanted to charge me $10 EXTRA FOR COMBING OUT TANGLES!! Wait, what?!? My kid has straight hair with maybe one or two tiny knots from swimming. They literally spend 10 minutes on the cut, and the time she spent combing out tangles was about 3 extra minutes. Honestly. Who has heard of a 50% surcharge for tangles? After I complained, she only charged me $5 extra. So only $26 for my kid to get a basic trim that took 15 minutes total. I can't stand a bait and switch, or adding on stupid charges for things any other place does for free. I will no longer be going to Kids Kuts...this time I mean it! And I suggest you make the same vow, unless you like paying a lot for very little. read more

I have to say that customer service is very important in a business. My daughter went into this salon on 8/23 to see if someone would give my 1 year old grandson a small trim around his hair for his birthday pictures but someone lady ( I wish I would have known her name ) looked at my daughter as if she were crazy and was very disrepectful to her and my grandson turning them away with disrepect. It dosen't matter if you look like a young lady ( 21yrs) you still need to treat people with respect just as you would like to be respected. Shame on you lady! read more

I went there just to take a few inches off my daughter's hair. It is all part of a plan that I have planned out for years. My daughter have curled hair just like mine and having many terrible experiences with hair cuts I am beyond careful with my baby's hair. I allowed her hair to grow and weigh down to then cut little by little the damaged her to this way don't loose the shape of the curls. Finally, after avoiding this day for ages, I took her to get a little off. The girl have the nerve to tell me that her hair was DISGUSTINGLY DRY and she had to cut half of it off. My daughter's eye teared up right away, because she loves that hair. Second, I love that hair. Third, I told her how much I wanted off, I never asked her opinion. Her tone was so beyond rude I could not believe it. I got defensive the same second. If my mother in law wasn't there with us I would just walk away. Even if her hair was that dry, which is not because everyone loves her hair, there are so many ways to say the same thing. Why would you choose the worst way to say it? I am not going back.... If you don't mind people being crazy rude in front of your kids, fine! read more

I used to love bringing my daughter here - friendly staff with good haircuts. However we went in recently and were very disappointed in the lack of safety with covid. A whole family was in with their masks off and people who worked there were not covering their noses. They had a play area and candy machines roped off but families were still using them. I walked in at 4pm with my 2 year old and was told no problem, we will take care of you soon. Two ladies working on two different families and no one else waiting - perfect. At 4.20 in comes a woman who has an appointment for 4 pm and gets into an argument with the stylist saying that she booked "4 ish" for her appointment. The stylist finishes her client and then takes care of this woman because she caused a fuss. I waited almost an hour with NO communication from the stylist about when we would get our turn. I finally got fed up as my 2 year old was getting irritated and asked how much longer - I was told after this man that walked in with his 4 kids. I said that it wasn't okay to keep us this long and I was told everyone else had an appointment. I pointed out that the lady that caused the argument had missed her appointment but got taken ahead of everyone else. At this point, I am not coming back. It seems that "entitled" customers get what they want by making a fuss. I will take my business to somewhere that actually does take walk in business and communicates with me correctly if I am going to have to wait a long time. This was the WORST customer service I have EVER received and I have worked in a customer facing role for 25 years so I am pretty patient with most things read more

I take my daughter to Kid's Kuts every time she needs a haircut, I really haven't had any issues until now. It's really annoying to go to a business and expect for them to be open because google, yelp & their window has their hours posted. They are supposedly open daily from 9am-7pm weekly and I get there 35mins before closing and they are CLOSED!! -_- Super annoying! Drove over there for nothing. read more

This place was great and I am surprised by the negative reviews on yelp. I called in the morning and they were able to fit me in the same day - a saturday no less! Our stylist AMELIA was amazing and rocked it. It was my 20 month old little boy's first hair cut and she did a great job with him - even had the train that runs along the top of the salon stop at a certain spot so he would look there for a second. nice trick. We took our little man in yesterday for his first hair cut. Something that I have not been looking forward to at all. After reading the reviews from my fellow yelpers, I made sure to book an appointment with Rey. I am SO thankful that we did. She was amazing. So sweet with our little guy and extremely patient. Cutting a squirmy toddler's hair has got to be crazy difficult, but she didn't bat an eye. She made sure to get the cut exactly how we wanted it. She also made it really easy on the little guy. She had lots of distractions and knew just want to say to him to make it an enjoyable experience. Huge relief to this mama! And she even had a little certificate for his first hair cut at the end. A nice little touch. We will be back again to see Rey. She's fantastic! read more

Terribly rude front desk! All I did is ask why can't she add tip to the card and the receptionist lady almost jumped right over the counter at me, lol. I guess in order to tip you have to write a check or pay cash, I thought that was awfully inconvenient since I could use my card for the haircut and the toys. Haircut was OK, can't complain there. update 2018, original review posted in 2014. Before I gave it 3 stars but now it deserves 5 stars. all the women there now, are very welcoming. So, this place has improved their customer service tremendously. They still prefer cash over cards though, which is inconvenient when I don't plan ahead. Haircuts are good even with my son who has difficult hair, and I love how they always take time to make braids on my daughter's hair, when she is in the mood for them! Truth be told, my husband keeps getting his haircut done there as well while he is waiting for kids to be pampered. Even though it's for kids, the whole family will be well taken care of. Supercuts was closed, so I drove down the street and had one of their no shampoo no blow dry outdoor quick haircuts. I go to check out and they tell me it's $50. What?! Even Supercuts is only 25. That's ridiculous. I asked how much for a nine-year-old girl they said $29. I'm a 58-year-old woman with short hair. What's the difference? I would never go back. read more

I have a great experience every time with Gabby, my son is 4 and we've always booked her since his first haircut at 8 months old. She's super nice, attentive and my son really likes her. I have nothing to say about the other stylists since we've only ever used her, but as long as she's there we will always be back! :) and my son loves sitting in the fire truck car and really enjoys playing in the little hut while we wait. I understand that a business may be be busy but a business should be giving the customer the haircut they desire for the money they spend. The business is only trying to get customers in and out of the door instead of giving quality haircuts. For the price they charge there are many other places who give better quality haircuts for a lower price. It also makes me suspicious why this business only accepts cash !!!! read more

The good: my 7 month old doesn't like strangers being to close to him, but Taylor did an amazing job with his first haircut. She moved along with his movements while he just stared at her trying to figure out what was going on. She was very personable and made the experience stress free, something I wasn't expecting. At the end, she gave us a certificate for him along with a zip lock with some hair clippings. The not so good: because we figured haircuts are so quick there, we didn't think to make an appointment. We got there at 6:20 on a Saturday and were told they didn't have openings until 7:30. That's fine and we said we would come back then. The girl didn't bother to take our name down and seemed to try to push us off into coming back another day. Idk if it's because it was a Saturday night. Sorry! That's the only reason I'm not giving it a full 5. Other than that, ask for Taylor if you have infants. She's great. read more

I bought scissors with the intentions of trimming it myself, but after searching Pinterest and thoroughly convincing myself I was going to butcher his blonde locks and possibly nick him in the process, I decided I'd let the professionals handle it. Plus, I wanted one of those look-how-cute-I-am-riding-in-this-tiny-car first haircut pictures. Unfortunately, I chose possibly the worse time to bring him in, following a hospitalization where he was poked too many times and now thinks anyone outside of our family is trying to injure him. He clung to me and screamed then finally calmed down. Ariel didn't bat an eye and gave him a great haircut with him sitting on my lap - all in under just a few minutes. Thanks, Ariel! We went here for my daughter's first haircut and I am so happy with the results. She is 2 and I had previously cut her hair and didn't realize how badly we needed to see a professional till we came here. We saw Ray and she was amazing. She worked quick so my daughter didn't get a chance to get upset and did a beautiful job. She also shared some styling tips so I can do her hair (ie pointing our where her natural part is so hard doesn't fall in her face, etc.) I also love that they have a play area in front. I usually cut my daughters hair and everyone hates it because it's usually super short on the bangs. The hair on the back was getting super long and with summer around the corner, I was afraid it would cause her eczema to act up. It was $20 for a kids cut but they provide toy chairs and toys to distract the kids. I was so nervous to take her because she cries and cries when I cut her hair that I was afraid she would do the same at the salon. Luckily, Rey was amazing! I had read the previous reviews and booked an appointment with her. She was so patient, so fast, my daughter didn't even flinch. Before making finishing touches, she asked if the length was good and I had asked if she could cut it shorter and she didn't make a fuss over it. My daughters hair turned out great! I loved it. Only thing I would do different was to get the bangs shorter next time....but that might be because I usually like them super short hahaha. Highly recommend Rey!!!! OK where do I start...Renee was THE most AMAZING, KIND, TALENTED hair stylist that we have ever had. My daughter had possibly the worst knots you could come across, especially during home schooling in COVID...we were convinced that they had to be cut out because the were literally matted dreads. My daughter was so worried about her lovely locks being shorn off but Renee was so incredibly gentle, kind, she took a good few hours meticulously dealing wit each strand layer by layer...and she did it, without having to cut off any hair!!! Not only that but she gave my daughter a beautiful trim and beachy waves...WOW what a star. I can't thank RENEE enough and we will be your clients form now on. read more

Had haircuts for our two toddlers. Paid with a $100 bill and didn't realize that I was shorted $40 in change until I went to put the cash back in my wallet in the car. When trying to communicate what I thought was an honest mistake I was treated rudely, as if I was lying. I asked the girl to please count the cash drawer since we were the first appointments and it would show there was extra. She refused. She finally agreed to count the drawer at the end of the day and said she would call me at that time. I didn't receive a call back and message was not returned. read more

This store does not take credit cards and does not hand out a receipt. According to them it is because of the credit card fees. Ridiculous! They do so because they do not pay a single dollar of taxes, which means that they do not support our schools, social programs and public works. Think twice before you spend your money here.
