I always make sure to ask for him because he has such a nice demeanor with both my daughter and me. He is knowledgeable, great at explaining things to me in a way I understand, wonderful with my daughter, and kind enough to offer me unsolicited words of encouragement about my parenting. (as a single mom with no other person contributing to the care of my daughter, that means a lot because I have nobody to make decisions with, bounce ideas off of, or to reassure me that my decisions are sound) The staff has also been very good at communicating with me and getting me scheduled in a reasonable time frame. Recently, when I needed a same day appointment, Dr. Hedgepeth was not available so we had to see Dr. Britt instead. It was the first time we didn't get scheduled with Dr. Hedgepeth. I was disappointed and worried that this other person wouldn't be as good. But Dr. Britt was also quite wonderful! If I ever leave NC, this will be one of the few medical offices that I will greatly miss.

You will notice signs posted through out the office and in the patient rooms "no cell phones, not iPads, no tables" and ask you to keep them turned off during your visit. HOWEVER, all but 1 staff person and the doctor where on their phones. Upon arrival, the person working the front desk was not using her phone and was friendly. The person who took my son's vital signs had to put her phone down.....and we followed her into the room. She was friendly and my son liked her. While waiting on the doctor, there were no toys in the room, but 3 kiddie books. The doctor who came into the room to check out my son WAS SUPER! The person who was at the "check out desk" made us wait while she texted on her phone, then she proceeded to talk to another employee about a patient whose daddy slapped the mother and how she would divorce the daddy if that was her. Seriously? I had to wait for her to finish her texting (5 minutes) then had to wait for her to talk about another patients "personal business". I left. Let's just say, I'm looking for another place. If you have a "no phone/tablet" rule for patients, your staff needs to abide by it too. And I don't wanna here about someone else's drama. I agree with the Jenn L.'s review, we didn't wait long in the waiting room after we checked in; less than 5 minutes. We waited 15 minutes for the doctor and I left waiting on the person at the check out window.

When I brought my first two-day old newborn in, Dr. Bo probably told me ten times, "You're doing a great job." The first time I raised concerns about vaccine schedules, I received a non-judgmental, thorough explanation with scientific research and data to help me understand the "why" of it all. When our son had severe and regular vomiting, Dr. Wasserman noted having just read up on cyclical vomiting as a neurological symptom, not GI. Our neurologist was amazed at this quick and accurate identification of a brain issue over a digestive one! When our daughter was 12 and wanted to chat Gilmore Girls, her new doctor raved about her favorite episodes with her. We can't say enough about our love for this consistent level of quality and caring medial expertise. Thank you for so many years of care, ORT! I'm so sad that my oldest will soon be aging out of your care!
