I was also disappointed by the lack of empathy toward my baby. They expected him to lie down on the dental chair by himself, which is unrealistic for a young child. I expected a pediatric dental office to be more patient, gentle, and understanding with babies. The front desk staff was also unprofessional. Instead of helping verify my insurance, they repeatedly insisted the information I provided was wrong and spoke to me in a rude, raised tone. I felt like they were unwilling to help resolve the issue. Overall, the experience lacked compassion, professionalism, and quality care. I would not recommend this office to families with young children or any age.

We walked in and were instantly greeted by the sweet and smiling receptionist. I really liked the green color scheme it gives a calm and warm feeling & the air smells so nice and fresh. We checked in, my 4 year old son proceeded to play in the play area and they had play boxes, magnetic toys which he loves! They also had the office decorated for Halloween and it was so cute. We waited about 10 mins, we were called to the back and the dental assistant asked a few questions, asked if my son liked Bluey and she put on Bluey for him ( they have a tv on the wall and one on the ceiling) he hopped in the chair and we waited for Dr. Anwar. About 10ish minutes later Dr walks in, introduces himself to my son and I and asked about any concerns and then started explaining how things would go. My son was very calm with the Dr and did very well. They always talk to the kids directly ensuring they are okay and comfortable. The visits are always thorough. Dr. Shelby had us come to her office for a quick consultation prior to starting services. Parents with children on the spectrum, (particularly on the higher needs end) know how anxiety inducing these appointments can be. I was a giant ball of unhopeful nerves. Praying my son would not be judged, or become too difficult to be helped. A staff member came in to assist/keep an eye on him for the duration of the consultation. My son jumping into this woman's arms at one point, and yet she showed no irritation, and reassured me as I apologized repeatedly. Maybe it was written on my face, maybe she is a part time mind reader, but Dr. Shelby sat me down in that office, looked me in the eye and assured me everything was okay, and my child would not be judged there. Embarrassingly enough, I broke down in tears. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I was actually seen. Although my child did not tolerate the check up well, as I expected, the Dr. was still able to get X-rays, and did so as efficiently as possible! I received so much reassurance, advice, tips and tricks to help. I truly appreciate Dr. Shelby and her team for the excellent service, care and compassion we received. Would recommend!

I was simply a mother, who hadn't had a job in over a year, asking for a small accommodation so I wouldn't have to miss work or pull my child out of school. Instead of compassion, the front desk clerk refused to even let me speak to the dentist -- someone we had trusted for years. I was so upset by how dismissive they were that I ended up in tears. One simple request turned into being completely disregarded, and it feels like something was said behind the scenes that wasn't true, because we were ignored and immediately dropped. When I respectfully mentioned I would leave an honest review about my experience, I received a letter dropping my daughter from care. They claimed it's their "policy" not to schedule young children later in the day, yet refused to show me any proof -- no signed document, no written policy, nothing. They also falsely claimed multiple attempts to contact me, but there was only one voicemail left. I returned the call and never received any follow-up. Six years of loyalty, perfect attendance, and a strong relationship thrown away over one basic scheduling request. This office does not prioritize patient relationships, communication, or professionalism. They will not advocate for you -- they will simply cut ties. If you want to be treated with basic respect and compassion, this is not the place for your family.

My first visit was to check out the office and I got to meet Dr. Huang. once I met him all my fears about a new dentist was put to rest.
