History
Established in 2000.
Kidokinetics was developed in South Africa by Terri Braun because of her love of physical fitness and a desire to want every child to be competent at every sport while still building there confidence. Kidokinetics was developed in 1994 and brought to the USA in 2000. Starting off with one location and 80 children showing up to the park to participate we knew there was a need for a program like this. Now Kidokinetics is currently in over 80 locations in Broward, Palm Beach and Dade County with 2 franchises in Texas and 1 franchise in North Carolina. Kidokinetics is continuing to grow and expand nationwide.
Meet the Business Owner: Terri B.
I started my business in South Florida in 2000. Originally from South Africa I have been teaching all kinds of children (autistic, brain damaged) karate from a young age and always wanted to offer children the same qualities as karate. As far coordination, concentration, fine and gross motor skills. This led me to develop Kidokinetics in 1994 in South Africa where children could achieve all of the above and be introduced to every sport in a non competitive way. Soon after moving to Florida I started Kidokinetics, seeing there was such a need for children's sports fitness programs. There was nothing that was non-competitive while introducing every sport to children. I was the only instructor teaching initially and now have grown Kidokinetics to over 80 locations in South Florida. I have 5 coaches that teach and a director of operations to help me run Kidokinetics locally. I was also an athlete competing nationally and internationally in karate tournaments.
