Good-- they had a lot of freedom and choices. Very unstructured, which can be liberating…read more Counselors are very kind and engaging. Caters to different personalities and interests. Bad--they were short staffed. My daughter was looking forward to sewing and baking, but for like 2 weeks it wasn't avaliable. This camp is expensive, so no bueno. Also, last day of camp, they called me as I was on the way to pick the kids up. I thought they were calling because it was exactly 6, and I was late, and it was the very last day of camp. The camp counselor says "your son is bleeding a lot out of his nose, it's A LOT of blood" I rushed in. They tell me another kid punched him in the face, but they don't know what happened. They asked who was watching the kids? They said they were too busy, so don't know what happened. The camp counselor said they were understaffed, that they had been "asking for more staff like the other camps have", and that she was going to write a complaint about it. I asked her to send me an incident report via email. This counselor also said "we'll be here tomorrrow (Saturday) cleaning up and will send the incident report. She never sent it to me. It's funny because before the kids did this camp, I saw a review from a mom saying something about the kids being unsupervised, and her kid got hurt, but I thought maybe this mom was overreacting. Now I see what she is saying. Would I send them again? Yes, because they really loved it. The counselors are nice, but they need proper support and the kids can be free, but should still be supervised. I would probably drive a little extra and take them to one that is staffed better.

How my heart sings when I think of Geneva Day School! The warmest, most kind, caring, and…read moreconscientious environment for little scholars to learn and grow. . . Am proud to have family as "graduates" of both the preschool and extracurricular activities. Am thrilled to have visited on many occasions, most especially for family events. I love the emphasis on Art, Mindfulness, Environmental Education, and Physical Education. Such traditional, pre-academic training (known to us as the "Geneva Method") is shaped by passionate professionals who love what they do and, yes, love the children. . . I am especially touched by the beautiful curation of Monarch Butterfly gardens; this Maryland Green School campus promotes environmentalism and invites exploration at every turn. . . I cannot recommend more highly this hidden gem of Potomac. Much gratitude for all you do!

Geneva day school is an expensive glorified daycare. My child is okay. But, I wanted to post this…read morereview to alert other parents because most have no clue what is going on in the school. I was impressed by the brochure and website. But, when I asked my child if you did this...or did you do that?....based on the brochure. Answer was no, no...nothing, none of those! So, they are very good at marketing with fancy flyers and brochures but sadly nothing is going on. If your child is underdeveloped....can i assure you it is likely due to this school. We had made this mistake before when we thought oh...we are paying solid $$$, so probably kid will have solid fun and development. We paid solid $$$, but we got just minimum daycare from Geneva. We have seen some really good programs....so we have very good perspective on when schools are just for minting money and when school really put 100% or 200% effort to help with child development. Cmon guys....it is not hard. At least, do what you say in your brochure. How hard is it to give some bubbles, playdoh, slime or bug catching kit to kids? They cost pennies. If you will just leave the kids in the playground for free play all day....that does not help with their development. My child just reported me that some kids were CRYING ALL DAY!!!! Seriously? Where is the money going?

Now I have kiddos who keep asking whether we can go again. Just bought tickets to see the Snow Man and the Snow Dog show for the holidays and looking forward to it. Update: Snow Man and the Snow Dog was not loved by the kids (3 year old and 5 year old), personally I felt it was really boring too. High production value but just not captivating enough. My kid loved the original video but couldn't wait for the play to end.

Here is what you need to know: + Garage parking is free on Sundays + Tickets are sent electronically along with a helpful email and storybook pdf that helps prepare young children on what to expect when they go to the theatre + The theatre is truly intimate -- there is not a bad seat in the house (Trust me -- we were last row, on the side of the stage and still had a great view!) + Children's shows can be quite corny and cut corners when it terms to production value but not at Imagination Stage. I was really impressed by the quality of acting and the set of "Dory Fantasmagory." + They offer lots of free programming such as "Meet the Cast", family yoga, and a children's fashion show to go with the play. I went with a group of children ages 4 - 11 and they had everyone entertained. Seeing everyone's faces light up and laughing out loud has truly filled my cup of cuteness for the entire week. Thanks again Imagination Stage. Can't wait to visit again!
