From the very first day I stepped into Rounders MMA back in 2015, when it was still at its original…read morelocation, I knew there was something different about this place. It wasn't a fancy gym with all the bells and whistles, but it had something far more valuable: genuine people, knowledgeable coaches, and an atmosphere built on respect, discipline, and a shared passion for martial arts. What truly sets Rounders apart is its owner and coach, Bao. Whether you're stepping onto the mats for the very first time or you're an experienced martial artist looking to sharpen your skills, Bao gives everyone the same level of care, patience, and attention. His knowledge of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu speaks for itself, but what makes him an exceptional coach is his dedication to helping every student improve, regardless of their experience or ability. One thing I can confidently say is that Rounders doesn't just teach you how to throw punches or execute techniques. It teaches you how to carry yourself with confidence, discipline, and the ability to genuinely defend yourself. There's a difference between simply working up a sweat and walking away knowing you've developed real skills, and Rounders delivers both. Having witnessed the gym's journey from its humble beginnings to its current location, it's been incredible to see the continuous growth and success that Bao and Rounders have achieved. That kind of progress doesn't happen by accident. It's a reflection of the dedication, hard work, and genuine investment they've made in their students and community. Whether you're interested in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, cardio kickboxing, or looking for a place where your children can learn discipline and self-defense, Rounders has something to offer everyone. What I respect most about this gym is that you're not just another membership or dollar sign walking through the door. You're an individual with goals, and you're surrounded by people who genuinely want to help you achieve them. I could go on and on about what makes this gym special, but I would rather encourage you to experience it for yourself. If you're looking to challenge yourself, build real confidence, learn legitimate self-defense, and train somewhere that pushes you to become better than you were yesterday, this is the place. 10/10, without hesitation. And if there were ever one coach I'd want standing in my corner, it would be Bao. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about the respect and trust he's earned over the years.

To start, my husband takes once a week privates and is signed up for their weekly classes. I'm currently in grad school so I take once a week privates. Let me tell you: 1.) You will never find a group of more genuine, kind hearted and caring people to teach you Muay Thai or boot camp. Neil coaches my guy and I and he is such an honest and real person. He pushes you, but always safely. David, the owner, is the coolest and he is so honest - he really cares about the people who come to stay here and even those who just come through. Hamid is an absolute joy to be around - he's always happy and energetic. Despite me entering the gym with 0 knowledge in Muay Thai, I have never once felt judged, embarrassed, or any other negative emotions because these dudes just aren't those types of people. 2.) the gym itself is pretty freaking awesome. It's large, it's spacious, the equipment is good and clean and the ring is kept clean. There's never any weird smell (I'm looking at you 24 hour fitness) and I love that their ceilings are high as hell so that there's just a ton of space. 3.) I cant speak for the classes since I haven't been, but husband LOVES them and he is always happy to go and come back from them. He tells me about how helpful everyone is and how even though people are at different stages, everyone holds each other up. There's no "me versus you" feeling. Everyone is here to learn and egos are checked at the door. 4.) The privates with Neil will kick your ass. Enough said. Neil is a lovely, personable guy and he will push you - but as I said, always safely. For example I got a foot cramp today and he stopped the lesson for a few minutes to help me breathe and stretch through it. All in all, I love this place and it's becoming a second home to my husband and I. I look forward to every day that I come in here and I can't wait to get better.

I started my journey with Total MMA January 24th, signing up for the 6week challenge in Kickboxing…read more It's been 6 months since then and what started as a 6 week challenge to help me get out of my plateau ended up becoming a lifelong commitment for me. Before this gym and before BJJ and Kickboxing/Muay Thai, I wasn't very confident in myself. I struggled to have hard conversations, make hard decisions and stick to commitments. I knew I needed to be better but I just didn't know how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Well, that six week challenge did more for me than anything else I had done before. It put in an uncomfortable amount of effort, pain, stress, and happiness! I was terrified, I was never good at cardio, I would always throw up (and I did my first class!) but what I found is everyone here is rooting for you. Coach Eric who conducted my first class was so proud that I made it back into the class even after the bathroom break. Because all the coaches here have started where you have started. And they are here to support you, guide you and help you mold yourself into the best version of yourself. In completing the six week challenge, I had found the best version of myself. Someone I had desired to be but didn't know how to get there. I'm confident in my abilities, in my body, in my mind, in putting myself in uncomfortable positions and knowing I have what it takes to overcome it and succeed. I have made so many friends and found that I really have made this gym my second home! Coach Eric, Carlos, Regis and Coach Marcello are so supportive and incredible teachers who are so knowledgeable and great at pushing you forward and to your goals. If you're on the fence, take that leap of faith. It's worth it, even if it's just for the 6 weeks! You'll come out stronger and better than you were then. And if you're a woman, come on over we're more than excited to have more women join and be part of our girl team!

The coaching has been excellent across the board, and the atmosphere is one of the best parts of the gym. People work hard, but there's no ego or posturing--just a welcoming group that's happy to help each other improve. Most of my training has been with Instructor Marcello, and he's been outstanding. He's knowledgeable, patient, funny, and somehow manages to challenge everyone while making beginners feel comfortable. I'm also looking forward to trying some of the cardio kickboxing classes and boot camps. It's nice that there's more here than just Jiu Jitsu. If you're thinking about giving martial arts a shot, whether you're brand new or getting back into it, I'd absolutely recommend Total MMA Studios.

After a ton of research, we decided to take a trial class at Legacy...and it completely exceeded our expectations! I love that they teach more than just martial arts...they emphasize discipline, safety awareness, confidence, and respect for elders. Every class is creative and different, so the kids never get bored, and it's actually fun to watch as a parent! My daughter comes out happy, tired, and excited to come back each time. From day one, I was welcomed into a warm, supportive community that truly cares about its students. Since starting Tai Chi here, I've noticed a real improvement in my breathing (I have asthma) and my body feels stronger, more balanced, and more at ease overall. The benefits have been both physical and calming, and I look forward to class every week. Doug, the owner, is absolutely amazing. His passion for Tai Chi and Shaolin arts is obvious, and he genuinely cares about every person in the class. He takes the time to give thoughtful corrections, explains movements clearly, and always offers alternatives if you have any physical limitations. His depth of knowledge and care really set this place apart. When I first became interested in Tai Chi, I tried checked out tik tok or YouTube videos but it was all over the place so I began my search for an in person place (in December) it's not February and taking an in-person class is a completely different experience. The personalized guidance, hands-on corrections, and insight you receive here are things you simply cannot get from a video. It has made all the difference in my progress and confidence. I'm so excited to continue my Tai Chi journey here. I highly, highly recommend Tustin Shaolin to anyone looking for Tai Chi! The Shaolin classes also look incredible!
