You have to buy hand wraps for the class (mandatory, can't box without them), $10. They show you the punches before the class starts so you are not a total fish out of water. The classes have all different levels of skill and physicality so you can move at your own pace and not feel like you need to compete with the person next to you. As I write this review I have just completed my first month of class. I love it!!!!! I go on Saturdays, first thing in the morning. Jerome is the Saturday instructor and he is awesome. He pushes and gets in your face but he's such a motivator and makes sure that you are getting it. His classes can be intense but you feel the reward. I gotta mention Tina too. She is just this super awesome ball of energy. She has walked me through so many things. She's always ready to help and never makes you feel like "Geesh you don't have it yet!!" She is also a great motivator. These positive folks are why I look forward to waking up early on a Saturday. Power Punch!!!

On this day there was poor weather and road conditions, so we tried to call a few hours before the class time with no response. We made the assumption that they may not be open, and we decided to call back an hour before and leave a message stating that we are unable to make it and asking if there was any way we could refund or reschedule the class. 10 minutes before the class was about to begin (we are located 45 minutes away) We received a rude and unprofessional text stating that there was no snow near her, and we would not be receiving any refund. After trying to mitigate the situation, we received multiple more rude texts and then no response. Today, one week later, we received a text about a class scheduled for the next day. Due to the absolute lack of communication, we had no previous knowledge of this class. When I called to ask what this new class scheduled was, I was met with extreme rudeness and was cursed out. All my communication was with Tia, I had tried to speak to her with respect and figure out the situation, but it was clear that she had zero customer service skills.

The owners JD and Troy are so welcoming and friendly and they seem to remember everyone. I got recommendations on wraps, gloves, etc. when I decided I wanted to really get into this. I go 1-2x a week and have really enjoyed getting into a new sport/hobby. The coaches are just the right amount of serious and goofy to keep people learning but also having fun. They do a good job of managing varying class sizes with people at all different levels. I've met a lot of other nice and welcoming members of the gym through the classes too. People of all different ages and backgrounds come here so it's always very diverse with who you are working out around. But everyone seems to fit in and get the attention they need in order to improve their skills. The first class is free so I definitely recommend checking this place out!

I normally attend the Zumba classes on Monday/Wednesday evenings, but have also tried out Pound. They have a wide variety of classes (yoga, barre, etc). I prefer working in a group class setting so this place is perfect for me. I really enjoy the Zumba classes. It is just plain fun, but you also get a great work out. Their Zumba classes are structured as a "learn as you go". I was intimidated by this at first because I am used to Zumba classes that teach you eight count by eight count, but you can pick up on the steps pretty easily. There is a rhythm and pattern to them, plus the owners/instructors Melissa & Monica give hand signals as well. I really like that they add in new songs and routines often. They really stay relevant. Sometimes I'll hear a song and think "this just came out on the radio!" M&M are always encouraging and they inspire me to try to be better. I really don't have much rhythm at all, but it really doesn't matter and I like that. You don't feel embarrassed. There is a wide range of types of people (men and women, old and young, older adults and young adults) that attend the classes so you never feel awkward. Everyone is just there to have fun and because they love M&M so much. It's like a community at Body Rhythms. I would definitely recommend it to others.
