Wow! There's so much…read moregoing on at this Y! I was here to conduct a PT test for my company, but I wished I had time for a swim, workout, or something after the fact. It's a bit of a maze finding your way around, but wow, the amenities are amazing. I'm a member of my local Y, which includes the use of about 10 locations, but this one is NOICE! For one, there are several pools. One for laps, another with 2 lap lanes and for swim lessons, and there's what looks like a little swim park for kids. There's another small pool that wasn't in use. I wasn't sure what that one was for. The indoor track is a bit small, but they keep it cool. A volleyball team was practicing on the basketball court below, which could be seen from the track. There's a big cardio room and to the side you'll find strength training machines and some free weights. There's also a large day care center on the left side of the building. So many kids came pouring out it must be a large space! The staff is very friendly and of course there's plenty of seating to sit in the front lobby. There are also high tables where several people were seated drinking coffee and on their computers. This is a very nice Y.

From the demonstrations I've watched, they are unorganized, uncommitted, and uncoordinated. Coming from someone who respects the martial arts to the highest, I couldn't stand what I was seeing. The children, looked uninterested, and though they are just children, you could see they weren't taught well if at all. The masters, were great actors, but nothing more, they were out of sync with one another, they were out of line and unorganized, to the point of kicking on another during a simple drill, and they payed no attention to their students, who weren't even listening to them. Another point of interest in their act, is their ability to break through cinder patio blocks... which were about as strong as drift wood. How did we find that out? We watched them drop the block from not even a foot off the ground, and it shattered. If that doesn't scream "Acting" I'm not sure what else really could. Sorry Fear Knot, but you have some more training to do, before you get me to look your way again.

Well, it's been 12 years since the JCC took out a no trespass order against me. My only 'crime'…read morewas to witness, over the course of 6 months, more than half a dozen instances where staff of the JCC daycare mistreated, both physically and verbally, young children under their care. My mistake was in trusting the then director, Randy Freeman, to do the right thing. What I should have done was to call Childline and let them handle it. Randy found none of emails of complaint valid, even relating to instances of mistreatment where I had other witnesses. The JCC was going through renovations as the time and they didn't want anything to jeopardize them, so they made up some nonsense about me. I'm not perfect; however, I stand behind my words and actions always. I recently thought about requesting the JCC remove the trespass order so I can go back. I need the pool like I need oxygen. However, after perusing pictures of the staff and the board, I decided I didn't wish to ever see these people again. 'Everyone is welcome'. Yea, except the righteous Jewish disabled war veteran.
