Highly recommend ordering a bunch of sides like your own mezze platter (tomato and cucumber salad, hummus and/or spicy hummus, baba ghanoush, etc.) or picking one of the salads that comes in a pita bowl. ALSO you are missing out if you're not getting the desserts. The chocolate chip cookies are INSANE and have no right being that good! Baklava is also solid. However I do have one bone to pick and it's that they took the hummus and tabbouleh wrap off the takeout menu. Can you still order it in-store? What is the deal guys? Wow, just wow! I'm so mad that this place existed and I've never been! It is absolutely worth any drive. The staff is incredible and was so helpful when choosing what to eat since so many options looked amazing and I haven't had as much Middle Eastern cuisine! They just rolled a new menu and I tried their grilled chicken foaccinis and it was hands down the best sandwich i've had in my life! it was so fresh and flavorful and all the different flavors meshed perfectly together. Their Lentil Soup is so thick and creamy and every bite gets better and better! And not the to mention, all of their dips and sides are stellar! From the garlic sauce to red pepper hummus to tabouleh to their regular hummus, absolutely divine! Delivery is exactly perfect-- What a marvelous discovery! How wistful the portions and the falafel, babaganoush, hummus, and pita were brilliant. Really such a memorable and great meal for vegetarians or veggie hungry people. Hummus has big tahini lemon pronounced taste in a way that is satisfying and delicious. Excellent texture, also. Falafel is some of the best restaurant Arab/SWANA food establishments I've tasted praise of somebody's actual house. Super this family run business and treat pain to a fulfilling and large portioned meal. What a wonderful Danbury find! It's in an area with some pretty stiff competition when it comes to excellent food -- Stanziato's and Le's Kitchen just to name a few -- but Kibberia easily knocks it out of the park when it comes to Lebanese / Mediterranean. On our visit, salads were particularly stellar with a good balance of high quality, well conceived ingredients, while my boys' wraps included a generous amount of moist, well-seasoned proteins. The deets: Falafel Salad ($8.99; Our famous falafel served on top of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, parsley and dressed with tahini sauce) -- I don't know if their falafel are really famous, but if they aren't, they should be! These lovely little one-inch, parsley-inflected balls were perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and still a little warm when we consumed it, despite being served on a bed of cold vegetables. No disparagement to those cold vegetables! The high quality lettuce, finely chopped tomatoes onions and pickles were all in perfect balance, better than the sum of their parts. The huge pita bowl they came in made for a visually stunning presentation, but I think we'll ask for the salad without the bowl next time (but with an extra side order or two of those fabulous falafels). There wasn't enough moisture in the salad to balance out all that crisp pita. Russian Kale & Chicken Salad ($10.99; Chopped red kale mixed with red beets, slivered almonds, dried cranberries & apples, and served with a satisfying semi-sweet dressing and roasted chicken breast) -- This was such a perfectly designed salad, especially for the season, good, fresh kale chopped to just the right size for eating. (I hate when salads come with enormous pieces of vegetables that require attack with a knife.) The small-diced beets, crunchy almonds, dried cranberries, dried apples, moist chicken, and slightly mustardy dressing made for a winning combination. Both the Lamb Shawarma Wrap ($11.99; Seared lamb shawarma strips with tomatoes, onion, pickles, parsley, lettuce and tahini sauce) and Chicken Shawarma Wrap ($8.45; Seasoned and seared chicken shawarma strips with tomato, onion, pickles, parsley, and lettuce all dressed with tahini sauce) came with a toasted, lavash-like flatbread (thicker and more sturdy than your typical lavash, though), generously filled with juicy, well-seasoned meat and thick, rich tahini. For one wrap, we asked for tomatoes and tahini on the side and received large ramekins of each to add as we liked. This really is a lovely little restaurant serving food that feels truly nourishing and wholesome. This food makes you feel good when you eat it. Staff on our visit were smiling and kind. There were beautiful baklavas and, IIRC, date balls in the cases by the counter, as well as prepared foods and convenience foods to prepare at home (e.g. flatbread pizza). I came by one day just to get a takeout order. The young dudes running the counter were actually so sweet and helpful when I was placing my order! I ended up getting the Spicy Falafel salad. They weren't too spicy and had great flavor. Everything about the dish was really great! I loved the tahini and the fact that the falafel was warm on the salad. One of the only benefit to having to take aging pets to the nearby 24 hour speciality hospital is to be close to Kibberia. Their kibbies are full of spices and goodness (tho they need to bring back their other veggie kibbies). Their salads are amazingly tasty and their hummus is the best we've EVER had anywhere (tho we didn't care for the artichoke variation). Lentil soup is good, flatbreads are interesting, but belila is too garlicky, and their moujadra is not as good as Mamoun's in Albany. Not sure when we'll be unsad enough to return to that area, but we would definitely stop at Kibberia. read more

OMG what a disappointment. Who makes DRY BAKLAVA???? I have never in my 38 years of life had dry baklava till today.! Oh and for the love of Baklava sell the size of the baklava don't cut it into small tiny bite sizes that's not what a baklava is meant to do it's meant to hit your SOUL sweetness juicy.! I had the falafel wrap and Tabouleh Salad. The pita wrap was sooo good! The falafel was tasty and fresh. I love that there was lettuce and veggies in the wrap definitely get an extra side of Tahini sauce if your into extra sauce to dip in like like I am. The Tabouleh salad was so flavorful, like a taste explosion in your mouth and it's super healthy so that's a win. It was so fresh crunchy and filling. The place was completely empty when I went in which is sad because I feel like a place like that has so much potential. They should be booming with business all hours of the day. Sadly the customer service was very poor last time. They literally refused to put my take out cold salad and cold food in a separate paper bag from the hot foods for the car ride was 45 minutes w the food. I have requested this many times in past without issue as I am a regular customer. I think they were in a bad mood. Kabob platter came charred and the meat was mostly fat. Also, "platter" means meat and rice only. No veggies at all. Very low quality meat on top of that. Falafel wrap was inedible and had no vegetables. It was only the wrap and falafel. Didn't see any vegetables at all. Super dry and absolutely no flavor. Fries were rubbery and gross. Chicken was also dry with no flavor. I also agree that I don't understand how this place got any positive reviews. I have had better Mediterranean food off a Mexican food truck. read more

The Russian chicken kale salad comes in one of those large (whole foods) brown cartons, piled high! The lentil soup is filling and wholesome. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything. I absolutely love this place. It's delicious and consistent. I eat here about twice a month, and I don't even have to try I find myself constantly craving this place! It's Mediterranean food, so there's a great selection of vegan and vegetarian items. I get the lentil soup every time I come in, it's so yummy! Their platters are priced great and my favorite is the falafel rice platter. They have a delicious dessert selection that includes baklava. They even have some bottled beers and wine available. The one time I've ever had an issue here, they went above and beyond to make sure I left satisfied. They had run out of rice and couldn't make my platter, so they arranged for me to have a sandwich at no upcharge, and sent us home with two hot pies as apology. This place should close - that's how bad their food is. Stay home! Don't fall for it! I had to actually take a picture because I didn't think anyone was going to believe me. My first reaction was that I got scammed. I ordered the "Kabob Rice Platter - Lamb" (with a side of Tehini) and a "Small Spicy Hummus," both of which are pretty standard dishes, for $38.49, which is extremely expensive. In my defense, my initial reaction is that it must be high quality and they're just enjoying overcharging rich people in Connecticut. I was extremely hungry and this would be my only meal for the day. They gave me a few small dried out pieces of meat on top of 50 cents of Basmati rice. I tried to eat it and and it was terrible. I couldn't even eat the the hummus (it tasted like someone just blended chick peas and hot sauce together at forgot all of the other ingredients). If they had spit in my food it would have at least been moisturized. They even ruined hummus. You might be thinking: perhaps he doesn't know what it should taste like? I know Arabic food very well and cooked for 5 years 4 nights a week Arab dishes with my neighbors learning from a Chef from a country I will not name. I've also eaten Arab food all around the country and internationally for the better part of a decade - even in the most desolate places and it has always been something that I enjoyed. No self respecting Arab or even Israeli would have paid for this. They would have just walked out or likely gotten into an argument. You could do a whole lot worse than eating here. In fact, should you find yourself in this area on a Saturday night, desperately iso a place for dinner, after having been quoted 1 to 1 1/2 hour waits at seemingly everyplace else (who me?) this will feel like a downright oasis. So yeah, by the time I finally wound up here, I was so hungry and grumpy that my only two restaurant criterion were edible food and alcohol. Happily, this spot more than exceeded those expectations: We ordered a bunch of mezze to share, with the crispy on-the-outside, fluffy and well-seasoned on-the-inside Falafel being the biggest standout. Hubby, who was practically weaned on the stuff, raved, "This is some of the best Falafel I've ever had." Fwiw, he was also very into the Lentil Soup. Spicy Hummus was good too, but it seemed to get its heat from cayenne. I think next time I'd order the regular Hummus and then add some of the excellent housemade hot sauce to give it some kick. Fattoush Salad was served in a 'bowl' made out of pita, rather than topped with the traditional pita croutons. Fun idea, but I guess I'm a purist since I prefer the classic version. Chicken, Beef, and Lamb Kabobs are available a la carte. We went with the former since @ $6 for a single Kabab with six pieces, it was significantly less pricey than the other two. The chicken was tender and nicely seasoned, but I sort of wished we'd simply ordered more of the Falafel instead. The only truly disappointing thing we tried was, surprisingly, the eponymous Kibbeh. We ordered both Pumpkin and Beef and have had way better in terms of both flavorful filling and crisp bulgur crust. Another slight bummer was the pita, aka flatbread, which was super thin and served in a plastic bag for some reason. In terms of ambiance, I think I saw a review that likened it to that of an "airport lounge," and I can't say I disagree. Not really what I had in mind for a Saturday night. Then again, seating was comfortable and I've been to way more divey Falafel joints. Plus, they serve beer and wine.
