Google needs to come out with a minus starts option I talked to a salesman named Rez at the dealership as he has the car i have been waiting for for over a year and a half so he tells me to come in and put a deposit so its mine. He asks me when i can come in so I say 3pm. I was a few mins late so i let him know and he is like no rush at all.... Not to mention the drive is about 45 mins away. I get there 5 mins after 3pm and he sits me down with a constant smile saying bad news... We sold the car... I was pretty annoyed and told him why don't u tell us this before and why do u waste people's time and get their hopes up!!?? Anyways, After the service was done I inquired if they can also change my winter tires to my all season ones I had at home, they said yes and since it was included in the service package the cost would be free. In August 2022, I paid a $1000 deposit to Kia Vancouver for a 2023 Kia Niro EV and my name was put on a waiting list. The salesman said he could not give me a final price until Kia Canada published the 2023 MSRP. Fair enough. I then asked for a formula that the dealership would use to calculate my bottom-line price upon delivery in 2023. The Assistant Sales Manager sent me an email stating, "my manager has agreed to do the deal on the 2023 Kia Niro EV-EX with MSRP plus tax and apply eligible government rebate." On June 2nd, I visited Kia Vancouver and met with the original salesman to discuss the final price. On a worksheet, he wrote the 2023 MSRP of $46 945 and I was then shocked to see him add a $6500 dealer markup, an $899 documentation fee, a $25 tire levy, and $695 for "prep". I showed him the Assistant Manager's email and reminded him of the written promise to calculate my final price on MSRP plus taxes minus rebates. He said he could not honour that promise because of inventory differences. He added that if I was willing to wait for one to two years longer for the car, he would not have to charge the extra $6500. I said none of that made sense, so he called the Sales Manager who stated that he would not honour his promise because of cost increases. On June 29th, I went to the dealership to make final payment and pick up the car. I complained to the financial officer about the extra charges and broken promises and she called the General Sales Manager. He said that if he sold cars at the MSRP plus taxes he "would have to close the business." He then offered to refund my deposit. However, my 20 year old Honda needed to be replaced immediately so I went ahead with the vehicle purchase. I ended up paying a "total sales price" before taxes of $55 064. Interesting, that price is almost equal to the $9000 in government rebates that should have been deducted from the MSRP. Before you deal with Kia Vancouver, I suggest you check the Better Business Bureau website. You will find that this business is not a member, and has only an A- rating. Moreover, you will see that I am not the first person with this kind of complaint. Beware! Reputable businesses are truthful and keep pricing promises regardless of changes in the market. read more

I purchased a new Kia Sorento in 2014 and take it to this dealership for its regular scheduled servicing. It is difficult to rate the dealership and service department as the staff and service seem to change so frequently so will try and separate the review into the dealership and the service department. I purchased my Kia Sorento with 0% financing, free oil changes for life, free car washes for life and the free airport shuttle. I have taken advantage of all of these many times including the free airport shuttle and love these benefits. The servicing has been hit and miss but today was a big hit. Somehow I must have recently driven over white paint and it was spread across my black plastic outer trim on the passengers side. I dropped the vehicle off for its scheduled servicing and asked if there was anything they could do regarding the paint. The person doing their detailing spent considerable time with my vehicle and I was happy to see that he was successful in getting pretty much all the paint off. Wow. Very impressive. Was trying to trade in a car for a newer one, throughout the process I felt the salesman "SARATH" was rushing me to make the non-refundable deposit before we even proceeded with any sort of discussion, was somewhat ambiguous on the extra fees such as the "Kia VIP" package and whatnot, and offered way lower on the trade-in in value as well for my car vs Kia west for example which simply doesn't make sense., and was frankly rude and told me to my face I wasted his time when I ended up not agreeing to purchase the car that day. That is NOT proper customer service in the slightest and I was deeply disappointed by his behavior and attitude. Kia West in comparison is night and day vs Kia Vancouver and Kia Vancouver should really try to take notes. I indicated to him I wanted to do more research and come back the day after because my budget was dependent on the conditions on the deal and I wanted to make sure the deal was suitable, I was so close to even purchasing the car and this dealer crap attitude threw it all away for me, and frankly the DEALER failed to properly DEAL and lacked any semblance of customer service, I would avoid this place like the plague. read more

I had BCAA tow my 2007 Kia Rondo, with over 200,000 Kms, to the Vancouver Kia parking lot on Marine at Yukon after hours last week. Mark, one of their service staff, was about to go home, but he stayed after hours to get me set up for an inspection the next morning. Sadly, when I called the next day, I was informed that the transmission would need to be replaced at a cost that was higher than the value of my car. Mark said, "Take your time to consider whether you want to repair the car, which we will happily do for you, or if you want to sell it for parts or donate it to a charity." I rented a vehicle the next day and on the way to the dealership decided to run an ad on Craigslist to see if anyone would buy it for parts. By the time I got to the dealership I had three offers. One said he was a tow truck driver and could give me cash and tow the car away within the hour. When I told Mark and several of the other service staff (including the service manager) about the sale, they went out of their way to advise and help me prepare for the transaction by not only finding an ownership transfer form but by filling out the form for so it would be ready before my buyer arrived. Had some really minor concerns, the guy in the service dept took really good care of me, then was really patient as I asked him about 1000 questions about my EV, some of them may have been stupid. I went to Kia Vancouver to have sports visors installed above the side windows of my new car. That installation merely involves taping them on with double-sided tape. My appointment was for 10:00 and the service clerk said they would be finished in 90 minutes. When I returned at 11:30 from doing some shopping, I was told that because of "technical difficulties", I would have to wait another hour. Now what technical difficulties can you run into with double sided tape? Did it drop on the floor and get dirty? Did it develop crinkles? Anyway, to pass the time, I went to their parts department to buy some touch-up paint. The place was a mess: the floor of the customer area was filled with stacks of tires, an old printer, and customer orders waiting for pickup. He kept trying to intimidate me and made me very uncomfortable. At one point two men were pressuring me to buy today even though I kept repeating I was very uncomfortable. Careful! Dealership and salesperson matter, avoid this location. A few months back we contacted Kia on the internet and as bad luck would have it, our inquiry was forwarded to Adrian, a salesperson at Kia, We were buying a second car for our family and chose the Soul EV. We were to be leasing this second car and told Adrian that sticker price wasn't really as big a deal as how much the monthly payment (all in) was as that was going to make or break our decision. We got our monthly payment in writing and then waited (as you have to with EVs these days) .... Long story short , car arrived and they tried to bait and switch and would not honour the price. The quoted monthly wasn't a "here it is based on today's rates etc" it is "here is your monthly payment". - The bait and switch would have added more than $5000 to the total car cost. Be careful, he tried to casually get me to sign the docs. I got my deposit back and can now start trying to find a reputable , honest place to buy an EV car from, but that will likely entail another long wait. I suppose wasting a couple days finding out who these people are is better than taking delivery when it comes to service. If service operates like the salespeople I'm sure it is always more expensive than quoted. Kia makes good cars, just go get one somewhere other than Kia Marine Drive. I got lots of calls from sales about trade ins and special prices for customers who bought a car previously. Funny things happened when I discuss the numbers. There was no special price at all. The price was same as on the windshield. Even worse, they gave me a wrong number, much higher than I anticipated. So I added up the number myself and showed them the number didn't match. After they talked each other in their room and told me there was about 4% interest in it, which I wasn't told before. Of course, the car was 0% financing in their ads and I have a good credit. If I didn't point out their error, I would have paid what they showed me. So we discussed the final price again based on the new price but they insisted on the same price they gave me with 4% interest before. Finally I noticed their tactics. They gave much higher number than you actually pay initially, then pretending to give good discount. But you are paying much more than what you really pay. Took my car for service there expecting to pay $300 and they sent me a text with a quote for 404 when I was waiting to pick up my vehicle with similar things listed that were in the service package. When I can to pick up my car they told me to total was 777 which was not the price I agreed to. I feel like I was mislead they should've put in that total when they sent me a quote and I could said yes or no to that. Roadside assistance sent a lippy tow truck driver who hated EVs, especially Kias. A call to Corpus Christi corporate got him to come back with a less surly attitude and tow it to the Vancouver Kia dealership, which is closed on Sundays. Despite being informed on Monday that my 80-something in-laws needed to get back to Victoria after placing their 59-year-old son in memory care, it took till late Tuesday for the service department to replace a small battery that was in stock. My family has just purchased a brand new 2017 KIA Sportage LX AWD. We have been searching for a new family SUV. We are very happy that we got the car at KIA Vancouver. We have been browsing a few other brands previously and all the different SUV piqued our interests. We were actually deciding to return to a Mazda dealership to discuss prices because we have another family car that was just purchased from their not long ago. However, prior to doing so we wanted to check out just one more dealership. We stumbled into KIA Vancouver because it was along our route and that was the beginning of our KIA experience. We were very impressed with Jeff's salesmanship. He defined the phrase "asking for business". We haggled with the price a bit and decided we are going to walk away. Jeff time after time brought up, "What can I do to earn your business now?" Jeff was willing to go the extra mile; he went above and beyond other sales person we've encountered before. We still decided to walk away and think because we were still not satisfied with the price. As we left we lounged around outside the dealership to discuss more about the vehicle. Jeff came out and presented us a new offer. We were intrigued because it was really close to our ideal price. At the end of the day we came to shop and inquire but we ended up making a new friend and got a car too. Jeff was able to earn our business because of his hard work, persistency, and always asking for business. We didn't lease our KIA Sportage through KIA Vancouver, we did however take our KIA Sportage here for maintenance during the last year of its lease. Note: The maintenance received was on par with Promenade KIA in Gatineau, QC. It was not until we opted to buy out our KIA Sportage at the end of its lease, that we realized KIA Vancouver's concept of customer service on an Out-of-Province end of lease buy out couldn't be more lacking! First, the receptionist is incapable of fielding the simplest of telephone calls and lacks, what most would deem, basic telephone skills, i.e. May I ask who's calling?/How may I direct your call?/Could you hold, please? My initial point of contact with the receptionist was to figure out who at KIA Vancouver handled lease buy-outs and if we could buy out our lease via KIA Vancouver... After 5 excruciatingly painful minutes on the telephone, she placed me on hold (without telling me she had done so!!!) and transferred me to someone's voice mail (without even telling me she was transferring me, or to whom I had been transferred!!!). Then, while attempting to confirm "End of Lease" documentation in English had been received by fax, the receptionist neglected to take down my name, or even the make and model of the vehicle named in the documentation; instead, she quickly and simply stated, "There is no fax." I don't even think she got up from her desk to check the fax machine! Dealing with the business manager was no picnic either. Granted, the business manager's telephone skills were far superior to that of receptionist's, but firming up a time to come in and switch the plates/ownership paperwork/hand over the bank draft was a bit sketchy - squeezing us in on the whiteboard whenever on a Saturday afternoon between financing/lease deals does not count as an appointment! Needless to say, KIA Vancouver's customer service at the end of lease was less than stellar. Perhaps if we had been getting into a brand new 2011 KIA Sportage, we would have received better customer service? We cannot be sure. So many things to to consider, and then you have to wonder if you're getting ripped by the slick car salesperson, not only on price, but if the car is a lemon. NOT trustworthy dealership used there airport shuttle that came with the car I bought and TWICE stuff got stolen when I had came back from my vacation. First time didn't say anything because I wasn't 100% sure but my second trip I had taken a picture and wrote down everything in my middle console and everything was moved and/or stolen. This was my first new car purchase and it was an amazing experience! It's unfortunate that there are so many old reviews with bad ratings but looks like things may have changed, at least in the internet sales department. Jason is the internet sales manager at KIA Vancouver and he really helped out a lot. I was initially stressed and nervous about buying a car because you always hear about sleazy sales guys who pressure you and try to rip you off because you don't know any better or haven't done your research which I think is the case for most first time buyers. Luckily I was able to deal with Jason via email. I sent inquiries to several dealerships and he was the first to reply back. The great thing about dealing with him online was that there's no pressure at all. Most dealers will pressure you into coming in to the dealership so they have the upper hand and lock you out of information but Jason was different. He provided me with all the information I needed online. He even gave advice about which colours are better and why and whether it's really worth it to get add-ons as well as several other tips that I didn't know about. He really educated me and I think I am more confident and knowledgeable about making a car purchase because of him. Since I was able to communicate at my own pace and do my own research in the comfort of my home to come to my own conclusions, the entire process was virtually stress free! There's no time limit. There's no pressure. And you have all the access to information right in front of you online. He will actually take the time to write a lengthy in-detail reply to make sure you understand everything clearly. Other dealers who I communicated with were solely sales focused and only focused on numbers and didn't explain what is involved or what the actual details were. That's where buyers might have misunderstandings and think they got screwed over in the end which end up in bad reviews. Jason was professional, very approachable, friendly, and humble online and in person. By the time I actually went into the dealership I already had a lot of information because of our constant back and forth communication so making a deal after the test drive was a quick and easy process. I never knew buying a car would be such an amazing experience! If all car salesmen were like him I think all the fears and anxieties of buying a car would be completely gone. I highly recommend you dealing with Jason. His customer service is second to none. If you don't believe me, just send him an email and I'm sure you can tell the quality of his service from the tone of his responses compared to other dealers. You won't be disappointed. They could not repair the ignition problem (imo factory defect) on our Kia Rondo, which started soon after we had bought this car from the original owner and it was still under extended warranty which they have a record of it from when we started bringing the car with this problem. After about the third time, they said it was the FOB problem and to check both FOBs which is not true to deflect the real problem that they could not fix it. I let it be, then got tired of this relentless and embarrassing issue, and brought it in a few years back, they said they could not do anything as the warranty is over. Really, the problem from day one and number of times I brought it in was never solved!!! If it was not for the general repairs being okay and vacuuming that we get, I would rate them poorly due to the first paragraph. read more

High pressure sales tactics and once you give the salesperson your contact info they will constantly hound you; calling, emailing, trying to add you to Facebook (which is very inappropriate), etc, sometimes after-hours. I've been to other non-Kia dealers and they're not nearly as high-pressure as Kia seems to be. And the salesman here lied to me about the condition of another cheaper comparable vehicle I showed him. This was the first time my boyfriend and I were buying a car so we were so excited, we were looking for something in a range of 10-12k. We dealt with Joel; he build a good relationship with us and we trusted him. Showed us a car that was valued just above our budget so we said no to it but he insisted he could change some prices to it and it won't be in that value so we decided to continue to drive test it and everything. Car was great, ran smoothly, loved the car. After testing it I inspected the car and saw there was stains and little things that needed to be done to the car before selling it to us. Sales guy was like "don't you worry we'll make sure that this car is going to clean almost like a brand new car" so as he promised I thought he was going to do it. Another thing was we asked about the petrol tank if it was gonna be filled all the way, he said yess I'm gonna make sure we get that filled. I also asked about the second key and he said yeah we'll get that too. After 2-3 hours were about to sign, nothing was really explained, there was no showing of the history of the car, no showing of how payments work, or if there's any issue such as a return or just little information that a new couple would like to know when buying a first time car. So that was no help, anyways we signed got the car, we got congratulated and then I asked him before leaving "oh is the car tank filled" all of a sudden it wasn't full tank they provide; they only provided half tank, so I'm disappointed but I'm not gonna fight over $30 so I left it, we got the keys get in the car, I see it's dirty still, he now said we just need to come back for a whole day and get it steamed clean. So I'm thinking in my head, now that I've signed the car I have to dedicated a whole day to go and steam my car and waste my gas to do something they promised before we bought the car. So my lesson to those who have read this is to ensure that before signing anything that you check everything they have promised you, don't believe everything they say cause they do lie; and for those of you who work there please make sure you communicate EVERYTHING with your clients because they do TRUST that you are doing your job right I would never recommend anyone to be dealing with this car dealership. read more
