Lemon Chicken (sauce on side)

The ambiance is great. The ceilings are plated and decorative and a giant Buddha greets you at the door. The service was efficient if a little unfriendly. The food was solid. The menu says to ask for a gluten free menu but they don't have one. You have to ask your server if what you want to eat is gluten free. It's not marked on the menu or anything. So make sure you have a backup. The vegetable chicken was made gluten free but maybe they forgot that tamari is saltier than soy sauce. It was pretty salty! Overall a good spot for gluten free Asian food.

Food and service were excellent. Had lunch here today and the Katsu salad was great. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. I will be back

Their Brussels sprouts are amazingggggg. Never would I think I would say that from a Asian restaurant lol It's a must order. Other stuff that was ordered was just ok in my eyes but I was told the lamb is to die for

Aloha Loco Moco--peppery gravy was delicious!

Met a friend for dinner on Friday night at Khan's Cave. It is nice to go at night since the parking lot can get very crowded during lunch. It is solid Chinese fusion (I use fusion loosely since the menu is more hodge podge with Thai dishes, American food, sushi) restaurant. Most entrees are around $20 and servings are generous. I had the Aloha Loco Moco, a big pile of rice with a large hamburger patty, 2 fried eggs and peppers gravy. It was very satisfying. My friend had the seaweed cucumber salad and chicken fried rice. I stole a bite of the rice and yummy! You can taste the flavor seared in by a hot wok. Not sure why, but it is the local watering hole. The bar is usually packed with guests watching various sports games. Not something you would normally since in an Asian restaurant, but nice to see Khan's becoming an integral part of the community.

It's been a while since last time i visited. They have so many options on the happy hour menu. I liked that they have happy hour till 7pm. The price is very reasonable. I liked fried Brussel sprouts, fried calamari and butter garlic shrimp. I enjoyed a glass of plum wine. The service was good. It was crowded but We got a table right away. It's a good place for happy hour.

Khan's Cave was... an experience. My date surprised me with comedy tickets, someone recommended this spot, and the menu screamed Asian American fusion so we gave it a shot. The second I slid into the booth, sank down, and realized the cushions were not attached; I knew the vibes were about to be questionable. Peeling paint, tired walls, and a whole lot of "when was this last loved?" It's hard to fully enjoy duck fried rice and loco moco when the ambiance feels like a tavern in Idaho cosplaying as an Asian restaurant. The food was good, not life changing, just mid. I won't be back until the place gets a little glow up, because if the front looks like that... I don't even want to think about the back.

I visited Khans yesterday for lunch. It was busy but we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is nice, clean and comfortable. The server was helpful and answered all our questions. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.

I enjoy coming for happy hour, and it is clear there are some regulars who come consistently as this place was BUSY. The happy hour is very much worth it and has a ton of options. I do recommend coming with a group of people and sharing different things. The bar section was VERY popular and can get pretty rowdy. The servers were all nice, food was served quick, and drinks came out in a timely fashion. The drinks are pretty strong and there is a nice selection. Highly recommend for a casual outing for some tasty food and good drinks.

Recommended by friends, this unassuming Chinese restaurant was superb. The rack of lamb was prepared perfectly. Service was attentive but not smothering. The place is loud and boisterous.

Very entertaining watching them cook your meal over the large circular grill. The only downside is that it was close to the end of the night so they were out of some condiments and onions but the staff threw some extra veggies into the stir fry for me. For less than $15 it was so much food that I split it out into 3 meals. Super good deal!

If you're allergic to anything or are strict vegetarian/vegan then definitely don't come here since everything from everyone else's order gets mixed together on the grill. There were some gritty sand-like pieces in my food and I'm sure it was either little bits of ground bones from meat from other orders or just charred bits of food and sauce from previous orders that didn't get cleaned off the grill since they just put order after order on without scraping in between. But the service staff were excellent and friendly and such hard-working guys who are standing and sweating all day near that massive, hot grill with smiles on their faces and putting on a show. They definitely deserve better working conditions.

When you only ate somewhere once but they remember you that makes you want to keep coming back! One big draw for me is the kids meal and options/service for kids. If a kid is under 7 they don't charge for them to split your meal with you and they can still get their own soup bowl and chair. Also, they have a kids meal option for 10 and under. My kids absolutely love being treated like real customers. They get to cook their own food and the team addresses them kindly and tends to them. By the nature of this type of meal there is a decent amount of checking in the waitstaff has to do like adjusting cook temps, delivering plates and drinks, coming back for add ons etc so it is a good restaurant experience for kids. They even have high high chairs (not a typo) for the babies. The food is good. Everything is prepped to order... you can literally see people slicing your meat or putting your vegetables together in the back. I come here because I want quality and not the volume of an ACYE place. I'd prefer to spend my calories wisely. I was surprised that it was full but no wait on a weekday. It's hard to find somewhere with a vibe on a weekday but this place has one. It's a short drive from the zoo and Balboa park so I'm sure the team will see us again.
