The other entrée was undercooked. They ask if I wanted white or brown gravy and brought me chicken gravy with my mashed potatoes and then said oh we don't have brown gravy anymore. I had to get up to get the missing items that I ordered because we saw our waiter a total of two times the hour and a half we were there waiting on our food and trying to get through and choke some of the food down because we were just hungry. The restaurant itself is filthy. the bathroom looks like a truck stop with toilet paper all over the floor holes in the walls and doors that won't shut. There is no toilet paper or hand towels in the bathroom. I guess we have to shake or drip dry. The table was so sticky. We asked the waiter to bring a wet towel over to wipe it off and that didn't help at all usually a wet towel means you have to put water on it. If I could give less than a one star review, I would. Don't waste your time or your money. It is way too expensive for the shit food that you get drive up to the next town.

I'm feeling pretty conflicted about this review because my experience at this restaurant was a…read moremixed bag--some aspects were great, and others definitely need attention. Let me start with the positive: The Good: When I first pulled up to the building, I was impressed. The exterior looked nice, the parking lot was clean, and the place was buzzing with activity. There were a lot of cars outside, and there was a line for seating, which let me know this place is pretty popular. Since I was in a bit of a hurry, I asked if I could place an order to-go, and they were more than happy to accommodate. I ordered the catfish dinner, which came with French fries, coleslaw, hush puppies, a warm buttered roll, and even a couple of beignets. The catfish was decent--not the best I've ever had (I've got a pretty high bar for that), but it was tasty enough that I'd go back if I had the chance. The hush puppies were on point, and I appreciate that they didn't skimp on the portions. The inside of the restaurant was decorated with a cute, Ozark-lake theme, which added a charming touch. They also have a small gift shop with reasonably priced, locally made souvenirs, which I thought was a nice bonus. The young lady who took my order was polite, had a sweet smile, and was very friendly--definitely added to the positive experience. The Not-So-Good: Now for the part I don't like writing--the negatives. While I don't like focusing on the bad, there are some things that need to be addressed, particularly the cleanliness. The condition of the bathroom was a letdown, to say the least. There was a disposable toilet seat cover with feces on it lying on the floor, and that was enough to make me do a double take. On top of that, the door handles, doorjambs, and the entryways into the kitchen looked like they hadn't been properly wiped down in a while. There was a vent cover in the men's bathroom that was in rough shape, and, most importantly, there was no soap available to wash your hands. For a busy place like this, you'd think they'd be on top of those things. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but it's definitely a concern that needs to be addressed for the sake of cleanliness. Final Thoughts: All in all, the food was decent, the prices were good, and the staff was friendly. The bathroom situation didn't ruin the experience for me, but it's something that definitely needs improvement. I would go back again if I'm in the area, but I hope they address these issues for the sake of future customers.

Cheap eats, fast service, Freddy's is a great place for a bite!…read more A recent addition to the Shawnee food scene, the buzz accompanying arrival of this national franchise hasn't worn off yet. Offering summertime cuisine favorites in the tone of a classic American 50's dinner, my only complaint so far is that it can be difficult to find an open seat. While others have commented that the beef patties are puny, I've long been a fan of thin protein, piled high. One of my favorite features of a Freddy's burger is the slight crisp on the thin meat, and when stacked three high (as I do recommend) this crispy texture becomes truly special, providing a unique burger experience compared to the neighboring resident beef slingers. The fries are nicely thin as well, providing excellent potato to salt ratio, and really echoing unified branding rather than skimpy product. And then we come to the Frozen Custard: smooth, creamy, and dreamy. While the menu titles have added more frustration than fun to my life, the product is really good. Again, I don't care what you call it, just hook it up with a medium sized vanilla frozen treat, fast! My attempt at making this order at the drive-thru ended in frustration, when my order-taker accused me of ordering a "concrete" instead of an old-fashion Sunday. Pro tip: "dish" is a single scoop of frozen dessert; "concrete" and "sunday" feature mix-ins. I apologize if this only adds to more confusion, but don't shoot the messenger: this just looks like a poor decision from the corporate marketing team. To recap: chocolate & vanilla frozen custard=good! Confusing product titles=bad! The first review I heard from friends was that "Freddy's is good & cheap," and I would agree, mostly. For a franchise style burger and fries, this location hits the spot with quaint yet updated style. Still, Shawnee has recently become home to one of the better burgers (arguably) of the greater OKC metro, and this only really matters because the price point of Freddy's is so close. But don't let me deter you: visit Freddy's, order a triple "California Style" with grilled onions, and see if it doesn't tickle that special place in your heart that still longs for that loving feel in' of an In-N-Out double-double, animal style, but don't want to drive all the way to Dallas to taste it. Thanks for a good meal Freddy's, and looking forward to more! -AW
