Went to the drive thru during covid outbreak and this was my first visit to this kfc, so possible I didn't understand how it works We ordered the 20 dollar fill up - requested chicken tenders and the meal comes with mashed potatoes, coleslaw and biscuits. When I got home I had my food but no napkins, no butter or honey for biscuits and no dipping sauce for my dozen tenders. Maybe you have to ask for these things, but I was really disappointed. Many years ago I visited a local KFC and decided I would never return. The food was just so greasy on that occasion. Well here we are some years later and I was willing to give it another try. After all, the food can vary from place to place. The KFC on Telshor is open, clean, and bright inside. The service is quick and efficient. Today I ordered Mike's Hot Honey three piece chicken combo which came with fries, a drink, and a biscuit. I also ordered an extra crispy chicken sandwich. The food was ready in about four or five minutes. The chicken came in two thighs and one drumstick. The chicken was coated in a crisp, flakey batter. Over the top of the chicken was a drizzle of honey. This made the chicken very messy to eat, but the honey did give it an interesting flavor. Overall, the chicken was not so flavorful and it was quite oily under the coating. I did not care for the texture at all. It was not poor chicken but it was far from being good. Rate it a "C-." Very mediocre stuff. The biscuit was pretty dry and had no flavor to speak of. It was almost inedible, even with the little bit of packaged butter they provided. I did not finish the biscuit. Rate it a "D." The fries were thin and short and a bit crispy with some seasoning. Actually, they were one of the best parts of the combo meal. Rate the fries a "C+." They were not good fries but not bad either. The chicken sandwich was sub-par. The chicken had a weird flavor (from the oil ???) and it was kind of tough and chewy. The sauce on the sandwich was nothing special and added nothing to the sandwich. The couple slices of pickle in there were not the most flavorful. There was no lettuce, or tomato, cheese or anything else other than the pickles. You can get a better chicken sandwich at almost any restaurant around town. Rate the sandwich a "D." I did not want to finish it! Overall the restaurant is open and clean, the service fast, and the food below average. I seriously doubt I'll ever return. The dining experience is TWO and One Half Stars....meaning below average, even for fast food. read more

I give this POS restaurant a one star because they having nothing lower! The manager should be fired and the restaurant, food, parking lot are nothing but trash! I was served a cold chicken sandwich and when I took it back up and asked for a new one when the employ told the manager in the back she complain ex about me returning g it like I couldn't hear her as I stood at the counter. Skip this place because these people care more about speed than accuracy. If they care at all. Every time I have been here in the past few months they forget part of my order or give me the wrong item. The common "mistakes" I have experienced are no dipping sauces or wrong sauces, wrong or missing side dish, no fork or spoon for side dishes, no cookie with a boxed meal, and a bag full of ketchup and butter when I did not order anything that uses it. My big issue is the wildly inconsistent portion sizes for the chicken tenders. Some are small as a nugget and some are as long as the box. Guess which size I usually get. If they ask you to pull out of the drive through and wait expect to wait a minimum of fifteen minutes while they prepare your food which still comes out a mess, if they get it right at all. read more

So much better than my last KFC experience at the one on Main in Las Cruces. I brought a coupon and they substituted the sides for two Mac n cheese (because my kids are addicts). The one on Main wouldn't substitute. They gave me all the plates, butter, and honey I asked for. The chicken was nice and crispy with the skin still attached. The employees were courteous and friendly. It's a little bit farther for me, but worth it...four stars only because I feel like KFC changed their batter recipe because it's way doughier than it used to be, or maybe they just always undercook it lol read more

This KFC is on the busy S Telshor & Lohmann Ave. The interior is one of the nicest KFC. The staff is courteous. However, the small size chicken and biscuit is like a kid's meal. Professional and student: Today purchased a three-piece meal (lunchtime) and arrived home in-app. 8-10 minutes and discovered the chicken was old and dried out. Called the manager and they informed me to come back and they would fix it. Here's the second issue, the fix was hard and tough, considerably hard to chew and digest. It's extremely problematic to drive up Lohman twice and don't even want to give the dogs the leftovers, due to poor service. It's especially pathetic, given timers are supposed to be used on the vats for cooking the chicken and in Las Cruces, they gave the workers a raise, but still receive sub-par/unprofessional service, including the manager's response on the fix, for not properly seeing the issue resolved. It was the worst KFC chicken ever to serve a customer(twice! ) oLd -tough as leather and dried completely out. I strongly discourage anyone from buying chicken from this KFC,(Lohman/Telshor)the oversight, and service to paying customers are laughable in a professional setting. read more

It is probably of higher quality than the standard everyday, anytown KFC. 3 things- the Tuesday chicken fried steak special ($2.29) is the best value in the city. Not that it's great, but it is enough to fill you up super cheap! --also, I saw the manager loading up a shopping cart of whole fryer chickens at the ALBERTSONS next door on a Sunday night! WTF? I find it really hard to give more than 3 stars to any fast food place, so that should be mentioned up front. If there was a 3.5 option I might have used it, but I feel that one should grade on a curve because they can't all be 4 or 5 star places--these things should be considered relative to each other. Also, I have only had KFC a few times in my life because I think the chicken is overpriced and I can get better chicken for less money at a few other places nearby. That being said, I was sort of forced to eat there today (out voted) and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful (me not being familiar with the place) and let me customize my order in a way not listed on the menu. The food arrived quickly and I could tell it was fresh--it was piping hot, tender, and juicy. We chose this store in particular because I was told it is a little better than the other locations in Las Cruces, so maybe if you decide to get KFC here you might consider doing the same. I would eat there again if I lose in the voting. There's better chicken out there for a better price, but I did have an overall positive experience at this store and the food was surprisingly good.
