The last time I was there the claim seemed to be true as I noticed the blood vessels in the dark meet were indeed full of blood and the taste had changed, not in a good way. I'm not saying it's not safe to eat as it is well cooked but I did notice the centre of the leg was all red and the taste was different from the outside.
