No Pride... I used to think it was teenagers that made fast food restaurants sub par, but I am rethinking my perspective after today's visit to a KFC in Edwardsville IL. This establishment was ran by a Baby Boomers (1946-1964), a Gen Xer (1965-1980), and two Gen Z's (1997-2012) As I was leaving the Lowe's headed to Chic-fil-a I spotted a KFC and decided the classic original recipe would be a great lunch. When I entered the lobby I noticed it was clean and modern with no customers. I ordered the 4 piece with great excitement and had to repeat my order several times for the cashier who seemed surprised to see a dime in customer. She was clearly preoccupied with the DoorDash order she was trying to get ready, and it was taking all she could muster. She may have just been having a bad day. She should not have to work at her age, but that's a rant for another platform. When the food and drink came out, they looked old and abandoned. The sweet tea was tan water, the Potatoes and gravy had been nuked, and the chicken was over cooked and had been left out for a couple hours. I threw two pieces of chicken away and left. The whole experience was a disappointment. Move over LJS and make room in the fast food grave yard. KFC will be joining you soon. Should have gone to Chic-fil-a. read more

Drive thru order was incorrect. First, had to shout at the speaker to get help, then waited at the window a good bit for someone to take my money and give me my order. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Sandwich. What I got was SPICY!!!! Had to throw away the bun and wipe the sauce off and it still burned my mouth. They also did not give me napkins or a fork for my mashed potatoes. This is not the first time my order has been wrong. It is one of many. read more

Whom ever owns this business need's to completely power wash inside and out. Has to be the filthiest place I have seen. Went there today 10:50am and waited for someone to open (said 10:30) and then no one waited on us. Which was Good as we looked in back area and had the nastiest floor I have ever seen. I come to this KFC from time to time and it gets no better. The interior of the restaurant was remodeled in the last few years, but it is filthy. Every window is smeared with dirt, the floor is covered in dirt and all of the tables are dirty. Today, I went in to try the new BBQ chicken sandwich. I saw good reviews and thought while I was running errands I would give it a try. I placed my order at the counter. The lady taking my order is always very friendly. That's the good. Here is the bad. The lady taking my order told me they were out of the cheese that comes on their brand new sandwich...she offered shredded cheese as a replacement. Fine. Their soda machine in the lobby was not putting out ice. She got me a cup of ice from the drive through. My order was ready pretty quickly, mostly because the lady that took my order also made my order. The fries were barely warm. The sandwich looked OK, but looks are deceiving. The chicken was not even warm, the bacon was mad floppy, and the BBQ sauce was pouring off the sandwich. This caused the bottom bun to disintegrate. Slight rewind, when I got my drink, I grabbed a handful of napkins. When the lady handed me the tray with my meal on it, she put napkins on the tray. At first I felt bad about the napkins I picked up, but later I wondered if I would need more, or maybe just a shower. The sandwich had little flavor beyond the BBQ sauce. The only reason I come here is it is near other stores I shop at. There are a ton of dining options in this area and I really don't know how this KFC stays open. read more

No chicken breasts or wings, as advertised. The establishment practices "bait and switch" advertising. I would not recommend ordering from this KFC. read more

The Family Fill Up cost $20.00 What he got was 12 pc. The Tenders Meal cost $21.49. This was at least the third time this has happened in the past three months. The first two time, I caught it as the total was higher than expected. Tonight my husband did the pick-up and didn't notice the substitution and overcharge. Line at the drive thru was pretty long, so I parked and walked inside to order. The person who took my order was nice and friendly, but the manger who's name he did not give me was it as pleasant. He told me walk ins are for pick up only, I explained that the line was long and I figure ordering in person would be quicker. He then told me well you can't dine here, which I didn't plan on anyways. Then when I did get my food, it was tossed on the counter by that same manager and he walked away. On September 23, 2022 I arrived at the Edwardsville, Illinois store at 10:30 am (the stated open time listed on the door). Both the inner door and outer door were locked and no one was moving around inside the building. After waiting 15 minutes (now 10:45 am), I thought that maybe the drive-thru option may be a better choice. I was told through the drive thru speaker that the store was not presently open and to try back in 10-15 minutes. At that time I returned to the parking lot to wait. At 11:05, I observed a car enter the drive thru lane and place an order. Mind you, the doors to the store were still locked. Like the lemming that I have become, I followed the first car into the drive thru lane. When asked for my order, I asked for two chicken pot pies, two biscuits, an order of fries, an order of mac and cheese and a large tea. I was informed that pot pies were not being made that day and did I want something else. I ordered some chicken strips and gladly paid for my meal. So, I went there tonight for their amazing mashed potatoes. I had to make a pit stop at the restroom. Well, ummm, a sign on the men's said it was out of order and a sign on the ladies said to knock! I went inside because of the drive through line at 5:10, and left with my food at 5:40. When I got home, the chicken was coming apart and the fries were cold. The cashier did give me a free soda right after I finished ordering, but I couldn't finish my meal. While I've never gotten chicken like this from this location, the temperature of the food has been very inconsistent. I understand that this location may be understaffed, but there should be some level of quality control. This may be the last time I visit that location. read more

I've always liked KFC, but today's experience stood out. The biscuits I ordered were a little delayed, and there was a slight confusion with the order. But the lady who took our order gave us five cookies for free to make up for the issue. I really appreciated KFC doing something to make up for a flaw. Most fast food restaurants don't do that. The KFC in Glen Carbon is GREAT! We had a group of 20 people coming over & they requested KFC. We had some coupons and placed the order. I explained they could put chicken in an aluminum pan, instead of the buckets. They had it ready within 20 minutes. Everything was PERFECT! They had all the Original Recipe in one aluminum pan and the Extra Crispy in another. It all was hot & the chicken was NOT Greasy! All the sides were delicious, too!
