I don't know why I keep trying to support KFC!!!! Especially this location. We went here last night for a Tuesday special. Meiosha the cashier is sweet and giving good customer service. However, we get home and this chicken is white and not cooked. It's not done. Skin is falling off uncooked and meat is exposed. Looks terrible. I call them, to report the disdain chicken. Her response verbatim, "Well, our chicken is steamed, it's not gonna be fried. Do you want Crispy?". I said yes, before I knew it. But, no, I don't want it! Refund was not a problem. We (me and my 83 yr old mom) went to the KFC in Gardendale, AL for lunch today. I have NEVER seen a more disorganized fast food restaurant in my 53 years. We order a 5 piece chicken tender meal and a 6 piece hot wing meal. We waited well over 45 mins while approx 6 orders after us received their meals. I went to see what the issue was with our meals. Only for them to tell me they are cooking it. All while handing a lady who ordered after me 12 hot wings and tenders. The lady behind the counter asked me what we had ordered...as I proceeded to tell her, she told me not to yell at her....i was not yelling. I spoke up because it was loud in the restaurant and she was standing away from me. I went back to where my mother was seated and told her they could keep our money that we were leaving. I got her up and as I was loading her into the car, a customer (not a KFC employee) walked out the door with my food. I thanked her and we were on our way. You will never be bothered with us again. If this is the continued practices of this restaurant, I don't understand how you would want your name on the front of the building. read more

When Grandaddy pulls to the intercom and you have two people talking through the speaker at you, of course your order will be wrong. And when he asks to have them confirm the order placed the guy, not the young female voice, loudly states to "sir hold up and just pull to the window," you know it's really going to be wrong! Of course it was. Once we did get the correct order it wasn't all as expected. Chicken bites and mashed potatoes were good. Fried chicken... it was lukewarm and a tad dry. Hence the continuation of a diminishing review. Even the manager in the red shirt was far from polite to the female employee at the window when she rudely wanted to know "why is that car still at the window?" No biscuits no gravy for the mashed potatoes and the chicken was horrible. what was supposed to be large sides looked like small and the chicken was very small too especially what was supposed to be breasts. First off, I'd like to state that I have worked and excelled in many restaurants. I usually don't leave bad reviews because I understand how the business goes. That being said, this location needs to be retrained. We got a bucket of fried chicken with biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, and Mac n cheese. For starters, the chicken was darker than midnight in Alaska. Seriously, clean your fry station. Not only did the chicken have a reminiscence of burnt coals, but that's a serious health hazard. The mac was very cheesy, but also very over cooked. The noodles were tougher than the patrons of the Salty Spittoon. Last but not least, we had a variety of biscuits ranging from doughy to extra brown on top. Attached you will find a picture of the extra extra crispy chicken. I implore you to compare it to the fresh golden brown look that's supposed to be on fried chicken. Went to this location tonight and was promptly told at the drive thru speaker that there was a 30-minute wait on chicken. There was one car pulled up from the drive-thru window and the restaurant was empty. Why would I have to wait on chicken? I worked in the restaurant industry for 16 years. Went to KFC Drive thru may 31, 2013. Worst food I have ever eaten anywhere. I ordered my husband the Liver dinner and ask that they be cooked fresh, I ordered the Pot Pie. Livers were over cooked and cold. Cooked fresh must have been put left over livers in a microwave. My Pot Pie was cold and think it was half dumped out. There was about a tablespoon of filing in the middle and was cold. Needless to say that is the last time I will go there. Also when I pulled up to the window the employees were running around chasing each other. I set there a few minutes before an employee came to the window to take my money. Then he could not get on the cash register to take my money and could not get anyone to come sign him own. He was the only employee that was trying to work and do good. Terrible food and service. Was driving through AL and unfortunately stopped here for fried chicken. It wasn't the food that disappointed (even though they were out of some items and it wasn't hot), it was the service. Upon paying I was informed it would be 15 mins for biscuits or I could substitute a cookie, not wanting to wait that long I opted for a cookie. After paying I was asked to pull forward and they would bring out my order. After waiting for over 15 mins, I went inside to ask what was taking so long, and that I had been waiting for over 15 min. The drive thru worker just laughed and said it had been sitting on their counter the whole time (no apology, just laughter). If the employees are that disgruntled with their job, just quit. With the economy like it is, there are plenty of opportunities to find a job in something other than one geared toward customer service. Food was mediocre, chicken was warm, fries were ice cold. Every Sunday when I decide to stop by there is so much chaos throughout the entire store. Waiting in line for 10 or more minutes when there are 2 registers and and only one taking orders with 8 people in the back and everyone appears to be so lost with the orders. If I could give 0 stars I would!! Went threw the drive thru on my lunch break, the woman was rude and cut me off when I was trying to order. Then when I got to the window they hadn't even took my order and someone else asked me what I ordered. Then when I received my food all that was in my box was chicken and a biscuit. This is by far the worst KFC in the area. The food is generally good....WHEN YOU CAN GET IT. On any given visit, expect to be told they are out of at least one item. And, be prepared for a long wait with errors in the order. The place is obviously manged poorly. Although the workers are busy and apologetic for the experience, the chaos is consistent. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was my LAST visit, where the doors were locked 1/2 hour prior to closing and the drive thru menu board was turned off 1 & 1/2 hour to closing. The reason I was given was the "cook left early and we have no food." - REALLY?? I made a complaint to corporate via phone and their website, only receiving a generic response. Don't know if any improvements since then - I have not been back. Which is sad, because KFC chicken is the best :-( read more

Y'know ... the place has changed and, unfortunately, it's for the worse. FOOD: My husband and I prefer original recipe but way too often they run out and offer crispy as an alternative. "We're out of steak ... would you like a hotdog instead?" And they don't mention the shortage until AFTER you've paid and are awaiting your order. Like most fast food places, there's inconsistency in what you get. Tonight the crispy-alternative-to-original almost broke our teeth! But the chicken underneath all that mortar was hot and tender, quite good. The potato wedges were tough and chewy - couldn't eat much of what I had. All in all, the meal was a D-minus. SERVICE: Young men doing the best they could. Manager was nowhere to be seen. And those that were working were definitely in need of some leadership, as they kept having to ask those waiting on their orders, "Now what did you order?" Grade of C-minus ATMOSPHERE: Tables are, of course, bussed by the departing customer and cleaned off by the new arrivals. Windows are dirty. Vinyl seats are splitting and cracking. Wallpaper coming down in multiple spots around the dining area. Stains on several ceiling tiles. Having eaten at another KFC in another part of town a couple of months back where service and food were great and the surroundings were pristine, I can't help but wonder why the yuckiest KFC on the planet is the one in our neighborhood. Grade: F-minus-minus-minus BOTTOM LINE: We won't be back unless and until there is reason to believe - no, hard core evidence - of extreme improvement, we will not eat at this KFC again. Waited reasonable time to get to the counter. Two people ahead of us. When our turn came, man said to please give him a minute. No problem. So I thought. After maybe five minutes, woman who had left with her order a few minutes prior returned. Told the man her order was for two breasts but she got breast and wing. Showed him the ticket which apparently read two breasts. Told him she'd pay for an extra breast. He turned away and went to the back, returning with another person's order. Woman began talking to all of us standing around. Said she'd wanted crispy but they were out of crispy. Said they didn't have crispy ready but was told some would be ready in six minutes. Twenty minutes later she finally got her order but if course it was wrong. Our "minute" had now turned into nearly ten. We left. Three people in the back. No manager is sight. Man at counter was doing counter, drive through, getting orders. Even if he'd picked up his pace, things would still take forever and still be wrong. As it was, he was moving at sloth speed.
