One recent hiccup was the "boneless" wings we tried with "Naashville Hot" sauce. This scored a 3 for inconsistency, real lack of depth of flavor (nothing compared to true Nashville Hot), and over done to the point of being a bit dry. Stopped I for lunch today to place a to-go order. The lunch menu has several combos which includes an entree, a side and a drink for under 10 bucks. I ordered the grilled chicken tacos (add cheese) and potato wedges. I also ordered hot lemon pepper wings which you can add on 4 for $3.99. The wait for my to-go order wasn't bad. The street tacos were ok. Next time I will get them without the bbq ranch sauce. They were good and filling because they give you 3 nice sized tacos loaded with chicken. The potato wedges are always on point. I ordered the hot lemon pepper wings for later, but I couldn't resist tasting one. Needless to say I was disappointed. How could a wing place have not so good wing?! There was hardly any sauce on my wings and they were dry. They also tasted old, not fresh at all. The ranch dressing didn't taste like ranch at all. I've been to every BWW location in the greater Birmingham area and I can say this is the best one by far. There was almost no wait on a busy night, and we had the fastest service I have ever experienced. The Hoover location left me waiting almost an hour to get a table, and almost another two hours to get us the check after we had ordered and eaten. I order the mild boneless wings at each location. The wings just seem bigger and better at this location. I had some of my friend's BBQ wings, and they were alright too considering I'm not too big on BBQ overall. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five was because our waitress left off an order of celery for my table. She was able to bring it to us within a few minutes. I'm sure we could have used her forgetting to get away with not being healthy that night, but I was on good behavior that night considering I just finished an hour long Zumba class. I usually order the snack size which is very filling for me, but decided to go all out and get a small. Still so much more food than most people can handle! Another Gardendale restaurant that has gone downhill. It's really a coin flip on what kind of service you'll get here and it's between bad and decent. The past few times our order has been wrong or something was missing. Tonight was no different. My order was totally wrong. Not only that, but I repeatedly heard ( and saw) one of the staff yelling the F word and being obnoxiously loud while she was hanging out at a customers table. One of the employees ( I kid you not) spent probably 30 minutes playing the claw machine. It's sad because we really liked going here but it seems like it's being run by a middle school class. Our server David was kind and attentive but the hosts are very childish and rude. Completely disrespectful and cared more about talking to other employees than helping guests. I was ignored several times before i was finally allowed a table after they looked around me and sat other couples before me because they "thought " i was already sat despite telling two separate hosts we couldn't sit at our original table as someone brought two massive dogs to the patio. I understand thats not the host's fault the table didn't work for us as my daughter is highly allergic to dogs but they had plenty of open tables we could of been sat at. Even our waiter outside left us to fend for ourselves she took our menus and we just stood there waiting thinking she was going to show us somewhere else we could sit in her section i asked finally if we needed to go to the host stand and she said theyd help me there. Which in fact they didnt for another 15 minutes despite plenty of tables. theres no excuse for the host's behavior Of course the hosts knew we were upset as they kept looking at us and pointing through out dinner. We have always had good service, food, and drinks here. We tried the mini corn dogs from the appetizer menu at an earlier time and enjoyed them then so we ordered them again. They are very good. Not too heavy and they come with a spicy honey mustard sauce. I had the southern chicken sandwich and my wife had the double cheeseburger and both were delicious. We live right down the street from this place and usually don't visit, but today we gave it a shot. I was so glad that we did. Our waitress, Katie was sooooo sweet and attentive! We ordered apps, mini corndogs and onion rings and they came out so fast. Hot and fresh! The corndogs were so good that we ordered another basket! Our food came out in good time. It was hot and prepared to perfection. At many restaurants, I usually ask for my wings fried hard just to avoid pink inside, but that wasn't needed. Craving wings and beer, we thought, why not BWW. We usually go to 280 or HWY 150 but since we were in g'dale, chose to stop here. My family member, who's 35, visiting from Mexico ordered a beer and offered a government issued ID. That wasn't enough for our waitress, Heaven, and said she needed an 'Alabama' ID. I asked why and she said it had to be government issued, 'like a passport or something'. I asked to speak with a manager but my relative felt embarrassed and didn't want to cause a scene. I highly recommend you train your staff on what 'government' issued is. I'm a US and Alabama citizen but will rather continue to drive to 280 where we feel welcome than give this place my business. Fight fans in the area are stuck driving close to half an hour away from Gardendale/Fultondale because this location is one of the few that apparently does not show UFC PPV events. I never ever complain about a bww. My favorite restaurant even after becoming vegetarian. The black bean burger . So good. However yesterday our service was not great, the waitress was rude, seemed really annoyed.
