This KFC is really good. The service can be a tad slow, but they get it done and they get it right. I went through the drive in and took it to our hotel and we were very happy that it was still hot. The fried chicken was very good as was the side, we had biscuits, and mashed potatoes with gravy. The place was not too busy and the wait in line was not bad at all. It just took a bit to get the food, but it was hot. The person at the window was very nice and wore a mask. I just have no tolerance anymore for non mask wearing staff, it is just gross. I feel like anytime I want chicken, I am being held hostage by the KFC in Desert Hot Springs, Ca. Today we wanted to try the new nuggets. The commercials make them look like extra crispy chunks. Yes please!! The reality is far less appealing. The first hurdle with this location is when they say, "It will take 6-8 minutes for them to be ready." We have done this dance with KFC before. Whatever amount of time they quote you, you need to add a minimum of 10 minutes to that. 15 minutes if you want to be safe. After pulling around and into a spot to wait, I hit the timer on my Fitbit. 6-8 minutes come and go. Coming up on 15 minutes and my mother decides to go in after seeing the people parked beside us having to do the same thing. Seven minutes later she returns clutching a bag and tells me, our order hadn't been done when she got inside. WHAT? The only reason I can think of is they gave the nuggets to one of the several cars that had come and gone after us. 22 minutes total and when we got home, I discovered the honey mustard dipping sauce I asked for was missing from the bag. On top of that, there was no buttery spread or honey sauce for our now cold biscuits. (I miss the days when asking for butter or honey meant you got BUTTER OR HONEY, not processed imitation flavored etc etc) Now, let me conclude this crappy review with something nice.
