We were really excited to try Buffalo Luke's, but I'm afraid it left us disappointed. We are…read moreproviding TWO stars because it was clean and the staff was very friendly, but the food just didn't "do it" for us. It all started when I went to wash my hands. I washed my hands & then dried them, but the only way to open the trash can to throw away the brown 'towel"l was to physically use my hands to open it. So, I had to use my clean hands to open the top of the trash can...leave it open...and then rewash my hands so I could throw stuff away. I am not a germaphobe, but I prefer to wash my hands before I eat. There are better bathroom trash cans options at Lowe's or Home Depot that create a more efficient bathroom. Then, our food arrived. We ordered some wings and split a Philly Cheesesteak. The Philly Cheesesteak was average, but they had already run out of mushrooms (@ 11:45 in the morning). The bread on the cheesesteak was good; however, the wings were a colossal disappointment. They were so "not good" that we didn't even finish them. We REALLY wanted to enjoy Buffalo Luke's, but even the fries were overcooked. Also, when a Buffalo wings establishment charges 35¢ for an "extra" sauce (blue cheese or ranch), that is 100% fine, but the containers were so shallow that there was barely enough blue cheese in each cup for two wings. Finally, and this is picky...but it matters. I realize that times are tight because our economy is in complete shambles...so buying the cheapest paper towels from the dollar store is an easy way to save money. But, when a patron tries to pull off a "full" sheet to wipe his or her sticky fingers that are soaked in Buffalo hot sauce..,you really need a full sheet. Repeatedly, every single pull resulted in "half a sheet" (or less) because the paper towels were so cheap. So, I probably used twice as many paper towels as I actually needed...and that added frustration for me because it took away from my dining experience. I recommend purchasing better paper towels (to go with the upgraded trash can in the bathroom). Sadly, we gave Buffalo Luke's a fair shot, but we will not be returning because it just didn't cut the mustard.

Quick Take: Some of the best fried chicken wings in Decatur, AL. I would definitely recommend this…read moreplace. Friendly people and spacious tables, even if in a small space. I definitely plan to return. Visited today with some friends. Been here a few times. I got a wing plate which is 8 wings and a side for $14 with tax. The prices on the menu include tax. I opted for a new sauce today and got Hot Honey Garlic. It was alright. The garlic was pungent. After the first few bites it was more bearable. I got onion rings as my side. They're very thin, almost like onion straws. I prefer their fries. One friend got the honey wings. They were sweet. Not a ton of flavor. I liked mine better. Neither flavor comes close to the Hot or Xtra Hot. Those are very tasty and at the top of the list. I will stick to those. Don't get turned off by Xtra Hot. They have the right amount of heat for a chicken wing. The hot is almost comparable to a "medium" heat. My other friend got the Special of the Day, Steak Sandwich. It looked ok. No cheese. They forgot to add his horseradish aioli. They brought it after-the-fact. He said it probably would have been better on it while it was hot. He also bought an appetizer trio for the table. The loaded fries were good. The bacon was real bacon and cheese like a nacho cheese. The fried green beans and pickles were delicious. The bean had like a tempura batter. The pickles had a cornmeal type batter. With nothing under them to soak up the grease the pickles on the bottom ended up being too greasy. But I want to get them because the ones that were good were pretty good. Owner came out and checked on us. Overall the people are pretty friendly. I will come back for sure. But sticking to my normal wings.

I opened the box and sure enough barely a slap of sauce. I said 'excuse me' and asked for a little more sauce. She grunted at me and said 'its .50 more'. I proceeded to give her the money, receive the sauce and leave, all while her phone remained in her had (on speaker i could see it was MOM on the screen). I will never return which is a shame because i heard the wings were good and I love wings. This cashier should not be serving customers if this company cares anything about customer service. Those who know BBQ often say, "For best BBQ in Alabama, go to Big Bob's." It's not just the best,…read morebut also the inventor's of Alabama Style BBQ, which is particularly notable for the white sauce that's served here and was invented by Big Bob. Big Bob founded the spot back in 1925 and only recently passed away, giving the business to his children. The place is an institution of the state and is packed on weekends. Prices are from an era that's now long gone, making this not only incredible BBQ, but also a steal for the money. I mean, who sells a BBQ pork sandwich for under $5 in 2026? Many staff working here clearly have been around for a long, long time. So, one might ask, what should I get at Big Bob's? For starters, the chicken wings. Likely the best smoked wings to be had anywhere: just the right amount of smokey profile while being tender and juicy. True perfection in something that's hard to master. Next, one of the samplers is not a bad idea. Pulled pork is truly state of the art, winning many competitions around the South. Ribs are fall off the bone and delicious. Brisket is good, but a low fat version that might or might not be to someone's taste. Hand cut French fries and baked beans as a side, and finally, life is all set. Sure, if one gets more adventure, the ice box cakes are wonderful also, with the coconut varietal being a standout. Stop by, enjoy and leave with bragging rights for having tried something truly one of a kind.
