Post-Covid I'm developing a love hate relationship with this location... I LOVE that they are now on the mobile app and I can order pick up and take advantage of the online deals. I HATE that if you don't go at prime time you are rolling the dice and might get old dried out chicken left over from when the last batch of chicken was cooked. I get off work at 330 PM. I swear to God the last two times I ordered pick up when I left work the chicken had to be sitting out under a warmer for 2+ hours. I won't do that again. Will I keep going back? Probably. Love the deals and when the chicken is fresh and hot...it's good. But I will say when they piss me off my visits become further and further inbetween. Kwikstar, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, and Popeyes aren't bad chicken and they aren't that far away. read more

We didn't like the food. Chicken was rubber and slaw and mac and cheese was runny. Wedges and mashed potatoes weren't horrible. We had an American flag on our shirt, and the boyman at the window evidently despises America. He told us our total, $46.21 and then said "ah, those flags on your shirt must be from your job, that'll be 46 million dollars, why don't you pull out that corporate card and pay with that? America should pay for it anyway! He was totally disgusted after seeing our flag on our shirt. My husband told him to have a nice day and he turned around and aggressively shut the window. read more

Don't go here they serve undercooked chicken, cuss a lot saying the n word, talk about sexual things while customers are around and very dirty. The manager Connie is very rude and disrespectful towards her staff and customers. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Don't give these low life's your money or your time you will be disappointed. Health inspector has been called and they will be getting an inspection soon. read more

Service was Terrible!! I ordered 20 dollars worth of sides so that I could redeem the free 8 piece bucket of chicken. The promotion didn't go through and nobody is able to do anything! I called customer service, no luck at all!?! I just got the bait and switch routine! That's crap!! I forgot to say that the food WAS good. I just ended up spending 40 bucks on an order that should have been 20. read more

Go somewhere else! The dining room is closed, only drive-thru is open. Got home to find that the mac n cheese was dry (looked like it had been sitting around for hours) and the mashed potatoes were super runny...not edible. My husband drove back to the store and received no apology and they would only refund him the amount for the mac and potatoes. We should of, at the very least, received a comped meal and an apology. Will not be going back. read more

2021 pandemic family vacation...Bringing the California strain of COVID 19 to your city. This KFC is serious when it comes to COVID 19. All their doors are locked. No customers allowed in the store. If you want food, you have to use the drive thru. Coming from California, I can't blame them for being scared of a customer like me, even though I'm fully vaccinated. Their chicken is different from all other KFC's that I've been to. Other versions of KFC I've been to in California, Arizona, and other states seem kind of mushy unless I order it extra crispy. But, this locations fried chicken was fried perfectly. Missing were there Colonel's 11 herbs and spices. They might have used 3. It just wasn't as flavorful. I would be a fan of this place if they used just a couple more spices the that Colonel provides. I have no problem with them shutting down and not letting customers in as it reminds me of some restaurants at home. I just wish the chicken was just a little more flavorful. I would've easily given them 4 stars if they used the Colonel's 11 herbs and spices. You should be COVID safe coming here. read more

Food was stale seemed to have been prepared long before being served via drive thru; biscuits very hard. I really do no recommend and will not be back - this is after years of using this stor. read more

These guys have been solid lately. Good takeout experience every time. Seems like maybe a new staff, and possibly owner, from a couple years ago when they had all the problems. My food has always been fresh but I have been ordering around 11:00 AM. read more

This place really needs to throw out anything that is 3 hours old. I had the tenders basket. My son and I couldn't swallow it down it was old and hard. The fries you could tell have been sitting there for so long. I would've gotten some better food at McDonald's. I used to work at a KFC and I'm kind of disappointed. This is why people go to fresher places. Don't waste your money here. Sad. read more

Door by drive thru locked, trying to p/u my order. Some snotty older white guy finally opened the door as he said something snarky to me. I sarcastically thanked him for his customer service and left as he said another rude thing loudly. You'll spend millions on ads this year when I was already there. And all it would take to get me to come again was to jot be rude. read more

this is my first (and only) meal at KFC CLIVE. worst fries I've ever tasted and at least 2 hours old. Dry chicken and also cooked much earlier than sold. I am very surprised at the poor taste. also seemed expensive for what I got. Boooooooooo. read more

They have a sign on their door that says you can go inside and place an order, but the doors are locked and they won't let you. Other KFC's, I can go in and place an order, but if you are walking, you can't; the McDonalds next door will welcome you there, but is t this place does not. They lie to you before you can even place your order. If you have a trailer, you can't use the drive through, so I guess they don't want people to spend money there. If I walk over from the hotel, I can't get served; can't use the drive through but their sign lies and say I can. read more

KFC - Five piece chicken tender 3 pc. Tenders Meal - Fast Food Near Me - Clive, Iowa

Like most franchises in Iowa this place is backwards of what KFC normally are! They keep the dining area shut so you can't see how dirty this place is and they normally cheat you out of food (This is a regular thing in Iowa)! The food here is worse than any KFC I have ever been to and yet they are still in business because they are near hotels and the highway so they have a never ending supply of new customers to cheat out of their food. This shows you do not need common sense to own a restaurant. read more

My dad loves KFC so I'm always appointed to pick it up and bring it to him. Service is always good, food is always hot and tasty. no complaints on my numerous drive throughs. read more

This place was awful. We ordered a few things and it came out to $50 which seems crazy for KFC. Plus they forgot to give us the main part of our meal... chicken tenders and sauces so we had to drive all the way back. Will not be coming back again. read more

Today I heard about KFC's new wings. I ordered the new wings with honey BBQ sauce. In total, I got a drizzle at best. Most of them were plain wings, barely any sauce flavor in most bites. I'd have gotten a lot more plain chicken by just ordering chicken, but I asked for wings with sauce and instead got tiny portions of plain. Then you can't order it "as a combo" so each item is a full priced add-on, which makes the likelihood of ordering these even slimmer. I can get strips, in a meal, then ask for dipping sauce and have WAY more flavor that what I got. I should learn my lesson about sauce at this location. They are SO stingy with it, like it's gold! If I get plain chicken, it's fine. Maybe plan on coming here, ordering plain and then going and buying your own $2 whole bottle of sauce to have on hand so you can actually expect flavor. On a positive note, the "Sweet Lightning" drink they added this year is quite nice! read more

This place is magical. The fried chicken and the sides here never disappoint. I love getting a bucket here with some sides on a Sunday night for dinner. Yum! So everyone knows this place has fried chicken and don't think twice of it. I used to not consider KFC as a dinner option because fried chicken just sounds so ordinary. But about a year ago I decided to go get a bucket. I was literally in shock at how good the chicken is here. It really is the best fried chicken. The meat is super juicy, the skin is crunchy and salty like I like it, and the sides like Mac and cheese and potato wedges are awesome. Since then I have KFC about once a month. And I love it every single time! I really have nothing to complain about. If you appreciate fried food, then you will love this place. Give it a go, you will like it more than you think. read more

These wings are right at 1 1/2 inches long, one of the wings was longer. Nashville Hot is a greasy mess. I have never not finished wings I have ordered, until today. Way to much crust/batter as you can see in the bottom of the bowl. I was confident and ordering wings from KFC you know, the chicken place. read more

I just don't know what has happened to KFC. I used to love it. I will still go on occasion, perhaps for lunch, but buying this for dinner just doesn't happen any longer. I can't put my finger on what has changed but nobody in the family will want more than two pieces. The rest will just sit in the refrigerator until it's time to toss it out. The sides are okay. I have no complaints about the mac and cheese. The coleslaw, etc. But the actual chicken just doesn't do anything for us any longer. Original or crispy it doesn't matter. read more

Tried to order the Nashville Hot tenders meal and all I got was a drizzle of the sauce on my tenders. Not even close to the fully sauced tenders on the menu. They didn't ask which side or drink I wanted. I ended up with tea and no ice and fries. Can't order inside. I'm staying across the street at the hotel and don't have a car to drive through. Yet they still made me walk through the drive through. They wouldn't acknowledge that I was there. So I had to knock on the window. Finally someone came to take my order. The employees seemed disgruntled for some reason. I wasn't rude and was polite. It's ok to do the right thing during the order process and food preparation. Disappointing. You can do better. read more

Not sure if this place is even open. Attempted to call their number (515-224-9160) three times and no answer. Tried ordering through Grubhub and order was immediately cancelled. From other reviews it looks like this place is locked up. read more

I will not return to this place. We ordered ahead over the phone and were told it would be 20 minutes. I arrived and went inside to pick up and pay for our order. I was totally ignored. I finally asked if I needed to go through the drive up to get my order and no one responded. I finally raised my voice and asked if I could get my order and one of the workers looked over his shoulder and said he would get to it when he had time. Seriously?? Talk about rude! The food wasn't worth it. Fries were awful. Never again. read more

Chicken was okay when we got the order. The drive thru took forever. The car in front of us drove over the curb and left. My wife drove around & went to the counter. Still waited. Again, chicken was good once we got it. I believe on "Black Friday" the facility was way understaffed. Hopefully things will improve in the near future. If you're willing to wait, the food was great. read more

This is a great chicken restaurant. Their chicken is amazing I enjoy their great food but the floors somehow look really nasty to me cause my OCD kicks in when I go to Kfc their bathroom makes me cringe too but I guess that's what happens when you have a few workers. Overall their chicken is amazing and I suggest ordering here. read more
