this kfc saved my friend from a bad situation with an uber driver who asked her to "cancel her ride and pay him cash" to drive her from Midway to Northwest Indiana. how about no. uber at that point would not be tracking her ride so god only knows what would happen. this KFC was accommodating and I literally had to google where this kfc was because my friend mentioned the cross streets. I couldn't get ahold of her and I was going to have family come pick her up, and they not only told me they knew she was ok but they let her use their phone to speak with me bc I was in the middle of a whole spazz attack thinking her uber driver went postal and kidnapped her or god knows what. Avoid this place at all costs. Heck, the corporation because I trust if this location is managed as experienced then corporate knows and doesn't care so long as they don't have to deal with the issues. Order via Uber then they may not get your order. Once you patiently walk folks through it and they secure the Uber order then there's a wait. No worries, I'll wait for fresh. I'm told 18 minutes and I pull to the side. Alas, I see movement thinking the employee/personnel is waving me to say it's ready. Nope, she's just at the window moving. Oh ok. Move along to the personnel saying.... You'll still have to come inside. Me: for an order you've located? Placed a DoorDash order well before closing time at KFC 5852 (5852 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60636). The restaurant had over an hour left in their shift and flat out refused to make the food. This was not a one-off either. The Google reviews show a pattern of this exact behavior. Early closures, ignored orders, and staff simply not doing the job they are being paid for. This location is damaging the KFC brand. If corporate will not address it, customers will keep walking. Avoid this store entirely. Not worth the time, frustration, or money. read more

Ordered from this location 3 different times even to the point of calling before hand the 3rd, to make SURE there was Chicken Pot Pies...the cashier who answered the phone said yes, they do. it's crazy i've been going to this kfc for years never had any issues until the other day. first they forgot our fries i said no problem shit happens had to wait a whole extra 5 min while everybody just walking around gossiping that should've been a red flag right there. get home just to realize i was given a SPICY chicken sandwich instead of classic. i was also given nashville hot nuggets when i ordered korean barbecue and they didn't put no cheese on my famous bowl as well. so at this point they basically ruined the whole order my mom couldn't eat because everything was spicy besides my famous bowl. and i wasn't bout to walk all the way back to complain at 8pm at night so that was a waste of $25. if you can go anywhere else DO IT ! they dont even deserve 1 star read more

To bad there is not a zero rating. Ordered a 12 piece meal and had to throw it out. The chicken was tainted. Both myself and husband were ill from the meal. When I called to inform the branch "Diane stated they were unable to make any offers". I asked to speak to the manager - not. I asked for Corporate and she stated they are not corporate. This store is so horrible, they don't even deserve one star. They can't get the orders right and they have too much private time talking amongst each other and the customer service is terrible. If you're driving past, do exactly that.... drive past and keep going somewhere else! They were cursing in the location while customers could hear and they couldn't even get my order right. Then when I called to let them know, them female that answered the phone, acted like she couldn't hear me and told me to call back and kept the phone off the hook so it remained busy. Never again. My experience here has not been the best. One reason being that the chicken is unflavored and great tasting as other places it is bland and it tastes like chicken with a bit of flavor. They also take a long time preparing the food and giving it to you so you end up being there longer than expected and you waste your time when you could had gone somewhere faster. If you dine in the tables aren't clean and have grease stains and look very dirty. The workers work slow and they don't seem like they care as much as other places. The prices are a little too expensive but not too bad. In my opinion i'm better off going somewhere else that cares and is faster and is cleaner. read more

Went in on a Monday night. Usually the busiest night for fast food, but never this place. The manager continued to text as she prepared another customers meal. When she finally got done and decided to take my order, I asked her to drop my father some fresh hot wings (he won't eat them any other way. I told her before she even took my order that if they weren't a certain way I would be back. So I sat and watched as an employee grabbed chicken from the heating rack and put them back into hot grease. Ugh. Demanded a refund because how gross can you be? What kind of manager is so bent on saving money that they sacrifice customer satisfaction? This one is. Word to wise: go to sharks down the street.
