Excellent pulled pork sandwich. Highly recommend. Right amount of meat and the bbq sauce was really good!

Step thru the doors & be transported back in time, to maybe an old saloon in the Wild West- the bartenders darn bow ties, a fire crackles ahead, & an old-timey piano plays in the background. Went on prime rib night. $27 for an 8 oz with one side. It came out like warm for us both and super thin with a lot of fat so I might have gotten 4oz of meat to eat. We left hungry. Roll was nothing special, sat ontop of pr so soggy. Coleslaw was good, French fries were ok but such a tiny portion. One place to play games chess and checkers infront of a very nice fireplace that they had lit. The beer was not good, not 3 options that were light on the % of alcohol so I got a wine instead. We sat in addition where it was rather loud due to 5 kids at one table with their parents, and another party of 12 in there. The acoustics aren't terrific. Didn't ruin the experience, but just know in case you are sensitive to noise. Ask to sit in other areas. Very friendly employees! From the moment you step in. Hostess was nice and our server was terrific (shout out to Riley). She kept checking in on us and made sure that we had all that we needed. We ordered a margarita and I wouldn't recommend this at all. It tasted like lemonade and a some tequila. They also put sugar on the rim. It was subpar to say the least. It was nothing as described on the menu (fresh squeezed lime juice). We ordered the fried pickles for an app and I highly recommend them. The sauce that is served with them is great! For entrees, we ordered the Bone & Butt (ribs w/pulled pork) with a side of baked beans and a burnt ends meal with sweet potato fries. The ribs and pulled pork were absolutely great! Even the burnt ends were good too. However, I do like super wet sauces and they do come drenched in BBQ sauce. That was a me problem as I should have asked and I forgot. I should have ordered them plain. The corn bread was okay. We asked for butter for that. The fries were fabulous. The baked beans equally as good. There are two different sauces on the table for you to put all over the things. You can tell that they are making these things in house and take great care to make sure that they are good quality. The portions are terrific and the prices super reasonable. They have an extensive dessert menu. We didn't order as couldn't fit anything else. We even had to take to go boxes. This is located near Great Wolf Lodge! If you are staying there, this is super close and worth the drive. It's also not far off of 95 so if you are in the area swing by - worth the drive off of 95 (not far at all). Would for sure come again! Very tasty.

My husband and I looked for the best BBQ places in the area and landed on The BBQ Barn. A small and cute little barn sits in the corner of the plaza (on the right of Target). We ordered chicken and rib dinners with an extra pulled pork sandwich (we ordered way too much but needed to try it all!!). Dinner plates come with Cole slaw, a dinner roll, potatoes, and a whoopie pie. There is seating outside. We both agreed that the chicken may have been the best we have ever had. It was seasoned so well and perfectly cooked. The ribs came with bbq sauce on the side. There was a line, but service was quick and efficient. The grills are right in front and you can see the cooking happening! Inside the barn, I could see them rolling out fresh pretzels. They also had homemade root beer, which was very good! After we finished eating, I couldn't help but grab a vanilla ice cream cone to share with my dogs. They agree too, best soft serve ice cream we have ever had. Since getting home, we have already talked about how we need to plan a trip back to Lancaster to get more BBQ and explore the area a bit longer.

Drive to the Target just west of the American Music Theatre and head to the far east side of the Target, driving back around the side of the building and the restaurant will be on your right. Watch for small signs directing you to the BBQ Barn. Review: Very good pulled pork sandwiches with lots of meat for a very reasonable price. Full meal is a great deal that includes three small grilled red potatoes, a small coleslaw, roll, whoopie pie, and drink for $12.50-$14.00 depending on your meat and beverage choice. They sell "homemade" root beer that I tried and it was good and tasted like the original drove in A&W root beer except it lacked carbonation. We had a sandwich plus one full meal for about $20 and left a small tip. Note that this is a casual place with outdoor seating only, similar to a food truck. Thankfully the picnic table seating is mostly in the shade. I do recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner and noticed local Amish eating there while we had lunch. today.

It was a gorgeous early September afternoon special made for a open window stereo blazing cruise in the rolling Bucks countryside. I was in a good mood. Driving up 611 north of Doylestown with the GPS alerting me that I was at my destination, I still did not recognize it at first. There is a small cabin on wheels sitting in the middle of the rocky parking lot, with a fruit stand on one side, and a puppy barn on the other. That trailered shack was Oink's. The front porch of the structure has two large BBQ grills, a large menu nailed to the wall. Took a few seconds to get oriented, especially when this big fella with a white apron and big white mustache came over and looked down at me and said: "What'll it be, young feller?" "Well, sir. I can't decide 'tween the Pulled Pork and the Brisket. What do ya think?" "They're both lip smackin' good, my man. Can't go wrong with either." Ok. I was hooked by ol' Oink's charm even before I made a choice. This guy and the whole set up was right out of a Michener novel. I was game to play my role. Two of his buddies sat to the side of the shack under an old beer company umbrella watching this transaction. I looked over to greet them with a reference to the weather, and they chawed back that maybe I should get one of both the pork and brisket. Nice upsell, gents. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, BBQ Beans and Corn Bread. Oink disappeared into the enclosed portion of the hut on wheels to make his magic. He appeared a few minutes later with a large white paper wrapped package that seemed too big to be a Sammy. I couldn't see what was in it, which was just slightly troubling, but this man had such an aura of confidence that I let it slide thinking I was probably missing the point of just knowing it would be great without a need for a visual. This place is strictly take out, so although I would have preferred to enjoy my BBQ on site, I had to take with and drive back home to eat it. No biggie. Upon unwrapping the creation I found it was indeed a huge quantity of meat, but the roll had been saturated with pork and BBQ juices, and was too wet to eat. I ate the pork with a fork. It was tender and juicy, yet the BBQ flavor was not very strong, and it was a bit salty for my palate. The Beans were richly dark brown, heavy with molasses and chunks of fat back bacon. Excellent. The Corn Bread in the form of a muffin was good, but not overly sweet nor moist. If I could give a grade just for personality and appearance, Oink Johnson would be a 5 Star experience. But, as the Pulled Pork was not as good as others I have eaten, and the roll was a total loss, the food comes in at 2 Stars for me. I will get back there eventually to try the ribs and brisket, but I am disappointed by the lack of "Zing" in the Pulled Pork. Still, I recommend stopping in as the characters are wonderful, the locale very pretty farmland, and the food worth a sampling.

This is an ideal setup. I've spoken to the pitmaster while I was eating outside. Super nice guy. They've always been a humble place who never thought of themselves as "above the people" which is why when we had that flood in 2021, the community rallied around them so fiercely. Back to food. Several sauces for the pork, available to get as much or little as you need. The Mac and cheese is good, like, "bring me back a plate at the cookout" good. And lastly the greens are superb. Some people shouldn't make greens. These are not those people. The acid, the smoke, the consistency. I've never gotten them and they were different from last time. Look at my reviews. Slightly outside the Lehigh Valley, but after stopping in, I can confidently say it's absolutely worth the drive. I had to start with the wings, smoked to perfection and then fried for a crisp finish. Each bite hit with smoky flavor, crunch, and a sweet-savory kick from the Asian sauce. Simply incredible! After the wings, I moved on to the BBQ sampler, which includes three fall-off-the-bone ribs, two slices of tender brisket, a tasty, well-seasoned drumstick, and juicy pulled pork. For sides, I went with mac & cheese and BBQ baked beans. They weren't nearly as impressive as the meats, but were still enjoyable. My friend ordered the chopped brisket sandwich with mac & cheese and natural cut fries. She likes it so much she orders the same thing every time she goes. The counter service is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and I still haven't tried the brisket burnt ends, so I'll definitely be back.
