My first appointment (early December) was cancelled with less than 24 hours notice due to the physician's schedule. I lost a day of PTO due to that, but rescheduled for later in the month. For that appointment, I sent my updated insurance information by email, as they requested. Despite having 3.5 weeks to confirm, they called me 45 minutes before closing the day before my rescheduled appointment of time to say that, not only were they not able to confirm my insurance, but that my insurer told them I did not have an active plan (I do). Because the clinic called me less than an hour before closing, I was unable to connect with my insurer by phone to get the clinic confirmation. I ended up cancelling my appointment due to frustration and lack of any options provided by the most clinic's administrators. They would not allow me to bring proof of coverage to my appointment, a typical practice for any other reputable physician's office.

The OR team was nice from the front desk (Dairia) who has a pleasant personality and put me at ease to the rest of the team Leah (pre-op nurse), Sue (OR nurse), Amanda (OR Team) and Doreen (recovery nurse). The anesthesiologist and nurse anesthesist both helped me understand procedures and what I could expect while answering my concerns. All went well and my R.N. Doreen throughly went over my discharge orders. I have read the other reviews which are different from my situation and hope this is not the norm for most patients. For my overall O.R. experience Magee gets a well deserved and solid 4 stars. PS They even gave me a thank-you card with my discharge orders (a nice touch).

But what hurts the most is that I had to fight to keep my baby's remains from being treated like medical waste. The doctor did not even seem to know that I could ask for the pregnancy tissue from my D&C as proof of my pregnancy and loss. I should never have had to fight for this. I was grieving my baby, and I had to fight the hospital to make sure her remains were not simply thrown away. Then I was offered a keychain... I don't want a keychain to remember this experience by. I wanted my baby. I won't put all my private medical details here, but other parents need to know: ask questions, ask what is happening to the remains, request your records, and ask for your proof of conception for a proper burial based on your faith. You also have a right for the hospital to take care of the remains, if that's what helps you get through. No judgement, just options. The pathologist named Stephanie was the one person who showed me extraordinary compassion. They treated Estelle with dignity and treated me like a grieving mother, not a case number. Just a beautiful soul who looks you in the eye. I will never forget that. Magee needs to do better. Losing my baby was devastating enough. I should never have had to fight the hospital to make sure she mattered. Horton taught us "A person is a person, no matter how small." Estelle mattered. Her remains mattered. And I am grateful to the pathologist who treated her with the dignity she deserved.

Non weight bareing 2 months Had injection preop to numb my operative site. Hmmm Was given by Anestesiologins using floor to locate nerve. Stuff happens. My tendon is fine. Compensating for numbness in foot. Painful at end of day. Ankle has edema up 2 inch thick Now I know to demand MRI for any chronic pain. My right leg is 1 inch longer after AGH did hip replacement for arthritis. A complication. Now I have to wear a lift in right athletic shoe. Right anterior hip surgery sure left a scar. All docs cavalier. Just the surgery can do this. Lots of nice shoes I'll never wear. At least no more cane.

My son (who is 23...but let's face it mom's...still my cub) had to have his 4 wisdom teeth out. His appointment was supposed to be at 1045, they called him at 10 saying, "so we're behind schedule, we'll need you to come in at 3:30" !!!!!! Without thinking he says ok and calls me; however, while we were on the phone, he was like wait I have to call them back to see if I can eat. He called back and they said "oh...well just be here for 1145". We were finally seen around 1pm, and folks let me just tell ya, this mama has been by her boys side thru every surgery...even sitting bedside in the OR once because she didn't trust the Doogie Howser looking Dr (now you also know how old I am lol!)...and it was rough not knowing what was going on for the 2hrs he was back there. Finally I was called back, and they said he did great, the Dr spoke with me saying his roots were rough, but that my son did great and everything went well. Fast forward to 5 1/2 hrs later...he's STILL bleeding!! Like not just a little, like a lot. We had went thru the small amount of gauze pads they send you home with and a whole box that I picked up!! I finally called the office as they told us to if we had any issues...not expecting what was next. The actual oral surgeon, Dr Khan, called us back via his on-call nurse and then...this is when we became blown away...he said I'll see you in the office in 15mins!!! Wait what?!?! It's now almost 10pm on a Friday night!!! You're going to meet us in the office, not "oh he'll be fine, I'll see him in the morning...do this, this or that"....not "ok take him to the ER"....he said..."I will see you in the office in 15mins!" WOW...just WOW! And then the care he gave my son at the office, and treated him as if he was his own...absolutely priceless. Please give this place a try, and if the front office looks like they're having a rough morning...it has no bearing on the surgeon, the anesthesiologist or the nurses...the front office was just overwhelmed and doing the best they could with the emergency events that took place and still trying to make everyone happy around them. I appreciate them all a little more today and a huge THANK YOU shout out to Dr Khan...more Dr's need to follow in his steps!

While they had me come 3 hours prior to the surgery, (I thought I'd be sitting the whole time), they kept things moving and I was never left sitting alone for more than 10 minutes. Everyone from the nurses, the pain management doctor, to the anesthesiologist were so friendly! They had me laughing and at one point I almost forgot what I was there for. When first arriving on the second floor, I was looking for a directory. Signage to find it was hard to find. It was on a TV that got lost with the information about the weather. It is on the third floor. Evey employee there seems to genuinely care and they are professional. The patient is a person, not just a co-pay. The office and therapy rooms are clean. I would recommend to a friend! I gave five stars because the employees make this place five stars.
