I've been seeing Dr Key for almost 2 months now and have seen improvement throughout the 2 months. When I first came to him, my body felt like it was going to crash. I first started my acupuncture journey through Kaiser for severe joint pain and had some moderate success. But, those visits soon ended after only 4 and I was forced to seek treatment elsewhere. My next stop was Advanced Healing Clinic. That did NOT go well!! I was left traumatized bruised and barely able to walk after each session, I had 3. To be fair they also performed cupping. But, again the pain was unbearable. When I asked if this was normal I was told yes and that I should see improvement with more visits. I didn't. Not to mention their needle placement hurt like hell!! I walked into Dr Keys office with an autoimmune disease called psoriasis after giving birth to my daughter. SSomehow the stress in my system caused a huge flare up where my skin had white/pink thick plaque patches all over my body. After steroids and light therapy there was little and very slow change to the pigmentation, itchiness and plaques to my skin and I was told that light therapy will take a long time to work. Prior to seeing Dr Key I stopped wearing tank tops despite it being 98 degrees outside. I stopped wearing black in general because my skin and head would peel and present with white flakes all over my clothes just by shaking my head. Was referred here and with the high reviews I was excited but the individual I met and talked to was very rude. When he saw me he just looked at me, no greeting or anything I was ready to leave from the start and probably should've . I would not recommend coming here especially if you're looking for real TCM with an actual consultation prior to bodywork. With the "care" I received, acupuncture and herbs (which yes, I understand are an apart of TCM) seems to be the only thing offered here. But there is more to it outside of those two, especially when going to doctor who specializes and offers TCM. The person I unfortunately talked to was condescending, did not answer my questions and honestly made me feel dumb about my reasoning for coming in. He also said he is not sure "if this would work on me" which to me implied underlying racism rather than the acupuncture itself not working. Spent about 2 minutes in there and glad I got out. Please know there is better service out there with TCM doctors who are caring, open minded and not racist. Do yourself a favor and listen to the low reviews or hopefully you don't get the person I was placed with when scheduling the appointment. I didn't get the name of the person but he also didn't introduce himself so.... I'm not sure if there are more doctors at this facility but definitely ask for someone else. read more

I had been suffering with a bad case of plantar fasciitis for over a year. I had cortisone shots, wore a boot and the next option was surgery which I wasn't interested in. With the high reviews, I was excited to try acupuncture. After calling and stating that I'm m having sciatica issues, I was able to make an appointment that day. I'm not sure if Key has social issues or if he was cold and dismissive because I came in wearing overalls. I'm in my 40s and have had sciatica issues before so I know what it feels like. Unfortunately with the pain, overalls are the only thing I could manage to put on since I can step in them while holding the straps and slip it on. When I arrived, I was not greeted and there was awkward pause so I stated I had an appointment. He left and came back with forms and curtly told me to fill it out. He later came back and only scanned the front page. He asked few questions, said few words, made condescending facial expressions. After many awkward pauses, I asked if he's treated sciatica and can treat me. All he said was "maybe." After another pause, I said if he doesn't feel like he can treat me, then to let me know. He said, "yeah just go." The whole interaction was strange. The patron that was waiting was looking at me with a shocked expression. I wish I didn't drive there with the pain I'm experiencing to just be turned around. I told him the issue on the phone so he could have stated over the phone that he could not treat me. read more

Alright, walking in I had really bad heart palpitations , numbness on my left arm, anxiety, period problems, random swelling of joins and Insomnia. I knew something wasn't right, and I need help. The hospital did nothing, other than suggest changing my environments, told me my iron was low, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, oxygen in my blood was low, my white blood cells elevated, they prescribed antibiotics... then when I went back for a check up.... They said the antibiotics could have worsened my heart condition. (This was all after getting flee bites in Hawaii and contracting Rheumatoid arthritis.) So afraid, I started looking for options to solve the problem... not just throw pills at it. Some how I landed on Dr. Keys Yelp page. Saw all the amazing reviews, and thought to myself... I think this is the doctor that can actually help me. I walked in, had a Consultation with Dr. Key. He told me everything that was going on with my body before I could tell him just by looking at me and running some tests. With in one week my anxiety stopped. In two weeks my heart palpitations stopped along with the numbness, my flow regulated, a month in... I finally can say my insomnia is no longer a problem in my life. Call this guy Wednesday to make an appointment with him. Looked on my insurance website and saw that he was in net work. Verified with him that he was a net work. Made an appointment for today (Friday) after work. Jammed here after work in commuter traffic. Walked in and he gave me paperwork to fill out. He was on the phone when I came in. Started filling out paperwork and he came out and he said that all of a sudden Aetna didn't pay very much with a contract so he was going to have me pay full price $150.00 (when my copay for in network providers is $35.00) and then he said he was going to submit to the insurance and couldn't guarantee that they were going to reimburse me anything but that if they did maybe I would get $50 back. I was like OK well, I wasn't expecting that and so I can't really do that right now. I ended up leaving pretty feeling kinda weird about it. He hadn't let me know that before I drove to him for my appt. I turned around and went back in because I forgot the paperwork that I was filling out and didn't really want him to have my info so I went to go grab it and he wouldn't give it to me. He refused to give me the paperwork stating "this is my paper. I won't give it to you, but I will shred it in front of you." I just asked for it back and told him I would take care of it myself, but he became annoyed i was asking for it and refused, and again stated that it was "HIS paper" and shredded in front of me. the whole thing was bizarre that he refused to give me the paperwork and how he was acting. Now I'm nervous as it had a lot of personal information on it and he refused to just give it back. I asked if he had just called the insurance when i was there and he said yes and i asked him why he wouldn't have called the insurance before and called me before I drove down there to let me know that he was no longer in contract with Aetna, or was no longer abiding by the contract. (it's strange that he would even Call the insurance if he already knew he was in contract with them). He threw up his hands and said, "what can I do i have no control". I let him know I work in the healthcare field, and we usually apologize when we make mistakes-- we always make sure the insurance squared away when our patients come in. He just stood there smirking and shrugging, and didn't seem really bothered by what i was dealing with (keep in mind I made an appointment with his man because I'm having health issues). I stated again we always apologize when we screw up it's OK if you're not Sorry and you're that kinda person it's just bizarre that you're behaving this way right now and again he just stood there shrugging and smirking... and so i left. Definitely wouldn't recommend this guy. I'm not sure if he was just trying to pull one over on me or what. Called my insurance on my way home and they said that they were in network with him too so I'm not really sure what he was talking about -- maybe he wasn't happy with the reimbursement rate but that's something you know when you sign the contract with an insurance-- but he definitely didn't seem to care and refused to acknowledge that he could've dealt with it differently. read more

My blood pressure was high, I had a couple of medical issues and a health scare that happened recently. I've had acupuncture done in the past from another practitioner who cured my lifelong issue of seasonal allergies. However, at that time I was not consistent with the acupuncture, so after several years, my allergies came back in full force. So I came to Dr. Key with an open mind and eager to make changes in my life, in order to get my health in order. We have been seeing him for about three or four weeks now. In that short amount of time, we are both shocked at the progress of our health. My allergies are much better (my family is surprised that I can now walk outdoors when it's windy without a mask to protect me from the pollen and allergens in the air), and my blood pressure has improved significantly (from high 140's to 150 now down to 100 to 120 at it's highest), my bloodwork done by my PCP shows all normal now, post-COVID symptoms of cough, upper respiratory and fatigue have disappeared, and we both lost weight (i lost about 15 pounds, my boyfriend has lost a little over 10 pounds). Six weeks ago I found myself searching through countless Yelp recommendations for an Acupuncturist and Herbalist who would be able to assist me with a lifelong anxiety and panic disorder in conjunction with unresolved grief regarding the death of my dad that had left me unable to work or function in any capacity of normal. Started with Dr. Key in late May with a referral from a friend who was seeing him for a medical condition. I was interested in weight loss. We have all tried so many options out there and with COVID felt that I gained even more weight, no excuses, since we are all facing the same sheltering in place restrictions.
