Had a great time here at Dr Sun's place. I was having back issues where I could not stand straight. I've been crooked for the last 3 days and the muscle relaxer wasn't helping. I called same day and was able to fit me in. She then offered me acupuncture with massage combo and then did cupping as well. The session went great. Dr Sun is wonderful. I've been going to her for years for various pains. This last time she treated my sciatica pain. First, a masseuse gave me a massage on the area I need to be treated. Then Dr. Sun treats you. She also uses cupping when needed. She is very strong and has adjusted me by manipulation or cupping, or both. She adjusted me in more of a stretching way. 5 stars for my first time here! I called Dr Sun this morning on a Sat and she said she's booked all day, but she will see me at the end of the day (515pm). I didn't have to tell her I'm desperate and grateful because I threw my back out 2 days before and it's still not better. She immediately saw my back was inflamed from overuse of the muscles (which was true) and did acupuncture and cupping (my first time)to reduce it. Then they followed with a light massage on my back and hamstrings. She stayed open 90 min past her closing time for me and bonus - she bills med insurance directly and can confirm what your insurance will pay for the appt. She's treated me for the last 10yrs and has been a major enabler for me in a number of ways. If I should ever move out of the area, I will miss my treatments terribly. I don't necessarily have to be in pain, sometimes I get a treatment to balance my chi. Her missus is excellent and her fingers find the knots on my back like a magnet. Its best to call ahead but she usually accommodates in a pinch. I've recommended several people to Dr. Sun with mixed feedback. My daughter was proposed a brain surgery by Lucia Packard Children's Hospital in May, 2018. Dr. Sun suggested us to get 2nd opinions from UCSF. I went to see her with a lower back problem that PT was not improving, very painful. She had me walking the next day. Had to go back for a shoulder problem. I could not lift my arm. I've been going to Dr. Sun for a little over a year and I'm very surprised by the negative rating! She's been helping my chronic shoulder and back pain tremendously. I do think going regularly is the key and it's somewhat unrealistic to expect miracles after one session. Anyway the treatment themselves are fantastic and very relaxing for my shoulder/ back; I feel rejuvenated every time I leave her practice! Dr. Sun has helped me so much since I first started going to her! She's really passionate about her work and helping her patients live a good, healthy life. I had chronic back pain from working in front of a computer desk all day long. She gave me various types of treatments, including: 1) acupuncture 2) massage 3) cupping 4) sometimes herbs (they taste bad but they work so well!) After about a week, i felt significantly better. I started with Dr. Sun about a month ago for a desperate situation with monthly cycle related anxiety. Since I was there, I also brought up my chronic pain in my shoulders from doing hair for the past 35 years. My first visit was very intense and I left there feeling like a teenager. Lots of energy, joy and relief. She did acupuncture, cupping and sold me some herbs for the anxiety. Dave gave me a full body deep tissue massage. He was very powerful and I wondered if he might be sadistic. I told him to ease up a bit when I couldn't take it anymore and he seemed to kind of grunt and laugh at the same time. Next visit , I asked for Jessica as recommended by the friend who turned me on to this place. She is very gentle in comparison. I find her massage more relaxing. She hasn't hurt me once. My progress has been going well. My anxiety has been reduced. This last cycle brought insomnia and I got some killer herbs for that in the mix. At 51, the changes I'm enduring can be terribly debilitating. These treatments have greatly reduced my symptoms. I will continue to go weekly as long as I need help. It is expensive though. About a hundred bucks a week, average. I am one of those people that believe my health and well being are worth any price! read more

I dont know where to start, I took my mom to this place for lower back pain and foot pain, this ocupature lady was the meanest, dumbest lady ever, she took my mom to room put 4,5 needles without caring that she was hurt, and then leaving the room, after 30 min she is like you can leave, with her rudest behavior. . She charged me 65$ for her bitchest service.. my mom's pain is the same, and I wouldnt recommend this place for anyone.. she didnt even talk to us nicely, she seems racist. read more

I was suffering from balance issues and dizziness for 4 months. My ENT told me it was due to an inner ear virus and it could take a year for me to feel normal. I woke up one morning with jaw pain, and ear pain.. and I thought I had an ear infection.. Over the next 72 hours I was unable to blink my left eye, and the left side of my mouth began to freeze up as if I had a stroke or shot of novocaine. By the third day... i didnt have the mortor skill at all in the left side of my face... SCARY... and yet it ONLY affected my face .... On Friday when I returned home, the doctor diagnosed wime with Bells Palsy, which is NOT AL ALL A STROKE .. and yet it's an inflamation of the 7th cranial nerve... Not much information on how or why it even occurs.. They assume its a dormant virus that surfaces.... Anyway.. no treatement other than five days of Prednisone... in the hopes that it will reduce the inflammation..... Its basically a WAIT IT OUT condition until it self resolves. The doctor told me that it usually takes a few weeks to BEGIN to see some small improvements,,,, and for many full recovery will happen within several months... WELL... I am not somebody who has a whole lot of patience, AND I SPEAK for a living... SO.....I decided to go holistic.. I read on a few sites where vitamin b12 encourages nerve repair.. Lysine supresses viral activity.. and I read where it was recommended to seek Acupuncture to stimulate nerve awakening. I decided to buy the b12 and head for Dr. Sun's office....I went for 5 sessions of Acupuncture with electric stimulatiion every single day.... After the sessions, I would feel lots of twitching all over the left side of my face... Two weeks after the onset, I had 50% return of the muscle use.. This week, threee weeks after, I am at 95% recovery.. Will see Dr. Sun this week again for a few more sessions to get the last 5% recovery.... My doctor was amazed at how amazingly quickly the nerve and muscle tone and use returned.. EXTREMELY NOT NORMAL for this condition... THANKS DR SUN.... you are the absolute best... Dr Sun has been able to profoundly address my issues that have been making me miserable. I feel so much better and in a very short amount of time. I have seen several doctors for the same issue and no one has been able to help me. My advice is if you are experiencing a symptom or medical issue that no one in medical mainstream can address, then consider acupuncture, and consider Dr. Sun! She is wonderful! Acupuncture definitely has it's place in medicine, depending on the problem of course. My insurance has paid for most of my visits so far, so it's been a win for me! I called to inquire about the service and explained I was in a car accident but not involved in a lawsuit. I wanted to pay up front and possibly visit twice a week per my physicians recommendation.I was interrupted mid sentence and asked if I had a lawyer? I explained no, there is no lawsuit. I was interrupted again and told I couldn't be seen if I didnt have a lawyer. I had already decided this is an all too familiar money first business but inquired again as to why I'd need a lawyer in order to seek relief and was informed it was because of, "all the paperwork" involved!
